My first foldable

Phone owned for less than a month

Having decided that my Surface Duo 2 wasn't cutting it anymore I decided to take the plunge and get myself a foldable phone. And I couldn't be more pleased with the Vivo X Fold. The quality of the phone is superb, the build is amazing, and guess what? A tiny crease that isn't visible when the screen is on! I really don't understand why Samsung has refused to fix the crease issue when Chinese phone companies fixed it with their first foldable phones??? I guess it's a reason why I've always found Samsung phones to be terrible compared to Chinese phones.
After taking a day to customize it and set it up, it works amazingly. It snaps shut and opens with a nice confident click, having aircraft grade materials inside the hinge does help give you added security in the quality of the phone.

I have owned Huawei, Samsung, Microsoft, and I can say that Microsoft's UI was the worst with Samsung being the second worst UI. Huawei's UI is much more efficient than Samsung's and I've never understood the hype. That being said Vivo's UI is good, but not as good as Huawei's, however I still prefer it over Samsung's anyday. It is the Chinese version but it comes with Google and to me it's fine. The software lets you down when it comes to multitasking in the sense that you can't create small window apps except with some of the preinstalled apps like calculator. But, it's just 1 update away from being that much better. I'm sure it'll improve with future updates. I honestly think Oppo has the best software for a foldable phone, but that screen of theirs is just a tiny bit too small for me, otherwise I'd have gotten that one instead.

One thing I dislike about this phone is the battery life. The battery is fine under normal use and especially when you use the small screen. But when you use it with the large screen opened up and use it heavily, you may need a top up charge in the afternoon. However that's fine because just a few minutes and it'll be charged up nearly to full again.

So far it's the best phone I've owned, and not only does it have a great camera, it's super speedy and gets things done quick! I have no regrets, but if Oppo comes out with a bigger foldable next year, I may see myself switching to theirs unless Vivo improves their software and multitasking.
