PROS:
packed with features, cybershot functions, small and light, user-friendly interface, convenient lens placement and mechanism, quick camera start-up, loud speakers, touch screen

CONS:
keys are difficult to press, contacts look-up takes awhile, battery/sim latch has a gap, crappy indoor shots

I have the K850i and it is the best phone i have ever owned. The camera takes great pictures, the flash is awesome and it had a wicked flash light on it, better than on any phone i have seen b4. If its a choice between NON95 and SEK850i, definitely K850i. Sony Ericsson have made an awesome phone. Love the partial touch screen too.

K850 is the best phone I've ever owned. From k800 to k810 no wonder how did the sony Ericsson's did a great job on this phone...

It's like an iphone "Accelerometer" menus follow just turn your phone on a landscape mode.

It's better than N95. It's not bulky but you got to have a lot of work using the navigation keys.

The three small keys are so sensitive. I could compare it to the ever sensitive external touch keys of a V8.

The connectivity rocks. HSDPA is really the best.

The battery don't die fast unlike N95, and when my K850i has a 3percent left on its battery life. I simply turn off my phone and tada!! you got an instant 6percent of your battery life...Amazing..

What else could i say on this phone? oh the memory card, it supports two kinds of memory card M2 and SD. It has two memory card slot.. truly fantastic...

And with the 5megapixel power whenever your on a room with poor lightning condition, K850 is there to assist you. burst into xenon flash and tada! in just one click your picture gets a clearer view... Automatic lens cover protects the camera...

Its a lot techie than nokia... I love this phone.

k850i is my current cellphone as of now i would like 2 say dat dis phone is perfect,it has a brightness settings,and only 1 card slot but m2 and micro sd compatible,hsdpa the internet speed is terrible reaching 3.5 mb/ps here in Italy,no need wifi,and the picture just like crystal clear,and you can shoot easily the moving object perfectly with his image stabilizer,and video recording is also clear too mp4 format,auto rotate is very good also, and the three key sensor touch is no problem for me,super hi tech phone,great job sony

This mobile phne is the best mobils phone that we saw them.

The design is very nice and also the featurs especally the auto rotate and the sensor for playing games.

The camera is very great but I hope that the sony ericsson mobiles will have the optical zoom..

Ive had this phone for a while now and it works rather well. But the camera, Ugh. All it is is a K810 Camera with 2 extra pixels.

I own this phone for a week and I am very satisfied with it. I like the screen, touch-sensitive controls, the automatic rotation, the loudspeaker is also very nice and the shooting user interface in very nice and very quick. I dont like the fingerprints all over it, it gets really annoying. It is sometimes a bit slow, especially in the Media Centre, but you get used to it. The biggest dissapointment is the quallity of the shots taken in bad light conditions, even with thw Xenon flash. But on the other side are outdoor shots during a sunny dan just brilliant. The overal impression is really great.

this phone is amazing iv had it since october but im on my third one because they break so much! mine always froze and the camera playback options didnt work! iv only had my third one a week and its froze twice all ready! but i do think it is the best phone out evan tho it does have problems!

Yeah, it is messing one important feature.. at least to me.. which is th GPS.. I'm waiting for sony ericsson to produce a phone with GPS feature. Otherwise, the phone is simply perfect!.

With the pictures turning out black, even after firing the flash, is cause by one of your fingers blocking the camera sensors (located just below the flash). Because of this, the camera is unable to evaluate the light conditions when you're taking the photo. If you look at the manual carefully, when taking photos, it tells you to place your fingers on the side, and avoid touching the front part.

The previous comment about the flash not firing is only true when the flash setting is "auto" and the "scene setting" is auto and the lighting condition is medium. If you select any other scene setting or have the flash set to "red eye", the flash works just fine in low light.

The screen resolution is great, especially for basic web surfing. Also, the touch buttons are a little tricky with the side of your thumb, but the pad of your thumb or any other finger works great. 100% response.

Can't wait for the firmware update that fixes the flash issue.

I tried out the SE K850i as Im a huge SE fan but Ive been very disappointed. I originally was very impressed with the small touchscreen area and loved playing with it but then found it kept cutting off calls or sending me into a menu I didnt need or want! There is no way of locking this panel whilst talking which ironically I use my phone for! I tried to move the bottom part of the phone away from my face whilst talking which looked insane but then found the top part dug into my ear which was really uncomfortable. I agree with the other reviewer about the quality of pictures whilst indoors, nearly all of my photos came out black even though I left the person blind after taking their picture from the flash! How come the flash went off and still left the picture black?! Unbelievable! Mine has gone back and after reading the reviews on this site Im going to the shop today to pick up the LG Viewty.

Love It, Lacks Basic Features Such As Telling U How Long Your Calls Lasted, Date And Time Made ETC Other Than Silly Stuff Which My Samsung Did, Another Eg, Locking Ur Pics/Messages ETC I Miss, Bt Its A Diff Manufatuer So Cant Expect Everything Ur Old Fone Cud Do On A New One, Love It Tho...

The specs look great but in reality the camera is a dud. It works fine in bright conditions, but once indoors and the flash activates, the pictures come out BLACK - completely under exposed. Occasionally (less than 5% of the time) the flash fires normally and the picture is OK. For the remaining 95% of the time the flash is so weak that you barely notice it firing!

The phone is also quite slow, especially when keying in the alphabets/letter to search the contacts. There is a second or two delay before anything happens. My N95 is way ahead in this area.

I will go for K850i for sure. I have "played" with N95 and it really looks very cheap. It has some great features, but the battery and the material is crappy. Sony phones are much more beautiful and they feel much more long lasting! Plz come out soon... I'll sell my own house to buy this phone :)

This is the best camera-- I mean cell phone I've ever seen. I can't wait for it to come out. I was planning on getting the K790a but the K850i just blows it out of the water. Unlike the N95 this phone specializes in taking picture so it should have better camera feature. But I do with it had the 16 million colors like the N95. I just hope it's not to expensive. The N95 ranges from $650-$800 on ebay, so hopefully because the the K850i isn't a smart-phone (which doesn't bother me at all) it will be cheaper.

I know Nokia has the most famous phones and that they are also great phones. But Sony Ericcson's phones are simply amazing. Camera, sound, screen and video quality are awesome. This phone rocks! Just one thing: Sony Ericsson doesn't produce phones with 16M collors. I think it's such a shame. Otherwise it would be better than N95.

I just can't wait to get it! its design and Camera is perfect specially the Blue one!I need to know the release time of this if somebody know please tell me!

FINALLY SONY ERICSSON!!!! triband UMTS 850/1900/2100 whicl will be compatible global 3G.....not to mention it has HSDPA(high speed data packet access......too bad here in US i think we dnt have HSDPA yet......but from the country i was born (philippines) we have 3.6Mbps hsdpa.......and its a quadband GSM too,capable of global roaming..............i cant wait to have this fone.........i wud sell my nokia 5700 for this...........

even the camera of the n95 is not as good as the k800i (in pictures)
now we gonna see how a real 5mega pixel camera should be
de k800i has better quality than de digital cameras from 2005
and i`m sure this one wil have even better quality than the digital cameras from 2006
if they can make that real then you wont have to carry your digital camera on vacation
the k-series have more quality in sound then the w-series but with less volume
i hope this one will have more volume then the k800i

This is an ultimate Camera Phone and it will satisfy whoever likes Camera Phones will good functionality . This is a good idea to separate different categories for different phone like walkman and K-series and not to be like Nokia which is confused between these two!

oh my god. this is a very sexy and hot phone. has well better features than the N95. Fun pressing middle buttons. Cool lights than ever. Beautiful design and hot chick phone.

now i have w850i but it has a bad camera i will buy k850i

SE are best in camera and are suaually very dependable phone with out any glitches. i was actually waiting for this phaone and i am dying to see pics of5 mp camera. i am using SE K 800 i and its camera is awesome, so 5 mp will be something else. it is good that they improved battery life a little as it will really help. thanks God they seperate phones in different categories and dont try to put everything in one phone
