Had it less than a month and threw it against a wall. The media player randomly stops recognizing the SD card. It locks up the phone and then reboots it for no reason at all. And tech support is completely clueless, so don't even bother with them. I've never had such a crappy phone in my life and I regret buying this POS.
It is thick, and the keyboard is long (as a few people mentioned) but personally, I don't much care. I have big hands, so I need a big phone. I was skeptical that I'd be able to use the keyboard with any accuracy, but to my surprise I've been using my unlimited text messaging like a madman.
This brings us to the internet. No. Every site I try to access takes an absurdly long amount of time to download, There is only a single touch functionality, which makes zooming a pain. it does occasionally freeze, too. And when it does I can't do anything with it, desperately hitting every button I could find, and holding the end button with bloody rage. The case they gave me with it is so conveniently impossible to remove without breaking, so the battery is wholly inaccessible.
I find that it unlocks itself in my pocket, going through multiple functions without my being aware. There's also been a few problems with pocket-dialing, which I assume is related.
But these problems aside (which aren't major problems if you steer clear of internet usage, and don't mind your clock mysteriously changing on you, and the occasional pocket-call) It's a pretty solid phone. Call quality is near perfect. Texting is a breeze, Thickness and keyboard are perfect for big and small hands alike. The camera has a pretty good quality (a little over 3 megapixels), if a bit slow to load. The music player is definitely a nice feature when left without another MP3 player.
Especially since this phone only requires a 10 dollar data plan, it's a really good "smartphone light" choice. The three home screens are really all you need and are very useful for accessing widgets. Overall, this phone is an excellent choice for moderate internet and heavy messaging users.
THIS PHONE IS MAGIC.
if u want a first phone that is reliable and amazing i would get it. I got it like it 3 weeeks back and i still havent found out everything and i still think it is the most amazing thing ever. i love how it has 3 menus so you don't just need one little screen for your apps. there are many customizations for this phone like changing the phones backroud to chang the noise it makes when you click something. it's very easy to use even with all this stuff which is why it's another great first phone. the camera ok on the phone (no flash,3.2mp) but thats why we have real cameras. you might need to be careful of where youre clicking if its your first time using a t-screen or if it's your first time using a phone, but ule get used to it. it has many preloaded backrounds for you like youtube, bing, facebook, twitter and many more. it looks amazing how the back of the phone looks like. its slide out qwerty keyboard is also amazing the keypad is so soft . it will improve your texting speed a lot.
this is a great phone...ive had this phone for 2 days and i could not be happier!!!!!!!!!! its great for my 13 year old style of text first call later...the qwerty keyboard is great its my first one and it feels totaly natural and im typing out txts faster than ever. The touchscreen is great even with the protector on it i can use it with the ease of my ipod touch wich i didnt think was going to happen! one bad thing about this phone is that the battery on my first day i had 1 bar by the end of the day!!!!! i solved that problem though by turning it off during my school day which i dont like. overall this is a great phone
This is my first touchscreen, I waited long enough until they got the bugs out of them!! This phone rocks! Not sure about the quality of the camera pics though, I had an LG chocolate that took great pics but, I will get used to this one.. have to make sure you don't move for like 5 seconds to get a sharp picture. One thing I cannot seem to get to work though is the Micro Sd card. I put this in my phone yesterday and the memory was there when I looked it up on my phone. Today I put it in my card reader and added music to the music folder. When I put the card back in the phone it tells me to insert again over and over. I tried to format it and do it again but, no results.
This phone is incredibly bad. The touch screen doesn't work... unless it's in your pocket. There is 100MB of internal memory, but you have to clear out your text messages weekly - that's right, it doesn't even automatically delete the old ones as new ones come in. The keyboard is much more elongated than a normal keyboard and it's awkward to type. Contact groups are limited to 10 entries, which isn't a problem unless you have more than 10 friends, coworkers, or family members. The VisualVoicemail app sucks - you have to change screens to delete a message so you lose your place in the list (not inherently a phone problem, but that's the only voicemail app you get). Very slow response - Things like ending a call take >1 second. Lot's of weird buggy stuff... I don't even bother setting up the "desktop" anymore because all the icons mysteriously get deleted on a regular basis. The thing is covered in buttons, and they aren't disabled at the right times. So basically, anywhere you grab the phone, you squeeze a button that messes up what you're doing. I bought this phone because I thought it was a better version of the EnV 1, which I had before my iPhone. It is not better than the EnV 1.
My first phone with a touch screen, keypad, or anything really other than standard dialing/phone.
I am not overly impressed so far. I don't text, so the hyped texting features of this phone are lost on me. The main feature seems to be that it turns on and off my itself when in my pocket. I sure hope they make a case or skin for this that prevents pressure on the power button, because it is a real pain.
And of course, with verizon, I continue to experience the convenience of only getting notified of voice messages once every two or three days, when they have become no longer relevant -- i.e. "we're waiting outside your front door, want to come out and hang with these hot girls?" - Okay, just kidding.
Can't seem to move mp3s or pictures from a PC to my phone.
We purchased two of these -- one for my wife and one for myself. They both began to shut off randomly and had to be returned. Would NOT purchase this phone again. I believe cell phones are a convenience, but more importantly, are safety devices in times of need, such as an auto breakdown when you need to call for assistance. Based on this important criterion, in my opinion these phones are simply not safe.
ok, so i was in the store and wanted the chocolate touch , but the screen was hard to work with. i wanted a touch screen phone, but i need the keyboard, so the lady working there recommedned this and its amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! the phone works perfect, but the camera is so-so
This phone is great, I've had the iPhone, HTC Evo, HD2, and 2 Blackberries. So far I would put this up there in the ranks with the best of them, it's very efficient and a great keyboard as well as touch screen. The social networking is great and the camra is pretty good. BUY THIS PHONE!!!!!
Previously, I had the chocolate touch. The chocolate touch is nothing compared to the reality. The chocolate touch had awful touchscreen. I could lock it sit down and see that i had pocket dialed one of my friends. I love how this phone has an actual keyboard unlike the chocolate touch that only had the keypad on the screen where i would type in the wrong letters. The calibration on this phone is great. I would highly recommend this phone to anyone I knew.
this is truely a wonderful phone. so far there is nothing wrong with it. the preformance is great and so are all the features. i really like the design. and i have to say that it is really worth the $9.99 every month. the internet works really fast. i love verizon and this phone is better than the samsung impression or any other phone out there!!!
This phone is the best phone i had ever had. all the features and applications works so wonderfully. I absolutely LOVE this phone. this internet works at lightning speed and its so great. the camera is really good. i cannot say that there is anything that i dont like about this phone so far. my friends have some other phones like the ev3 and the samsung impression, but i have to say, this is the better phone out of any of my friends phones!!!
I am dissapointed. The internet is slow, not worh searching anything, it is waste of money to have to pay $9.99/month for internet. The lock features is bad, i have a lot of "pocket dialing" and when you want to unlock, it takes up to four finger strokes some times to do it. Cannot get songs from my library in a Mac. And customer support has no clue. I had to call four times because they had no clue about how to get songs from a computer, they first told me I needed to pay a monthly subsciption for this of $15.99, then they told me that I needed to pay only $12.99 and then they told me that V cast was the program, they made me dawnload and intall it and it is the incorrect one. FINALLY, I told them after a lot of reding that maybe thecorrect program for this should be V cast Rhapsody and I was right, and it is free if you only need to get your songs from your existing library.
I LOVE this phone. It's a step up from the Samsung Rogue which I had just before this one. Very neat phone with a lot of options. The only thing I would have changed would be that it needs a flash for the camera. I like how (just like the Droid) you can have different home screens....with different pictures. I highly recommend this phone.
I have had this phone for a few weeks and i luv it is is amazing. The charger has a USB port and it hooks up to the computer and u can put music on it, the touch screen great along with the full key board. I also luv the three home screens. i would suggest this phone to anyone that wants to try out a touch screen and a key board...
OK,
i seriously love this phone. I've only had if for 6 days amd love it! This is my very first touch screen phone amd i am happy with my decision. I am looking forward with the 2 years with this phone. If i can compare this phone to my sis' phone, and she has the lg xenon from at&t, i would totally say the reality because there are many features toward the samsung reality. On the xenon you can draw or set sound to ringtones. I love this phone!
So, this is my first touch screen and data phone. I have had it just over a month or so. It is very easy to use and learn on. Love the 3 main screens and lock screen. The color (City Red) is awsome! I don't have anything negative to say about this phone. I show it to everyone that is looking to upgrade and isn't sure whats out there. Doesn't require the $29.99 data feature, can get the $9.99 plan. Have gotten a lot of positive comments and I know I've helped Verizon with sales on this phone!
I currently have the LG Voyager by Verizon. It's a pretty good phone, but the Reality has soooo many more features. The 3.5mm headphone jack is a great plus, considering that the Voyager has the 2.5mm one. Also the music player looks alot better than mine. And it has so many features that you can change. I really can't wait until my contract is up in August so that i can get the Reality!! MAJOR PROPS!! :)
i used to have a env3 it is bad but this phone is crazy awsome i jus cant decide if it is better then the chocolate touch
somone please joinmy disscusion and tell me what fone to get because i cant decide wether to get this or chocolate touch or env touch or twist so plz plz plz plz plz plz help me out a lil cuz im only 12 and i dont no wat 2 do
This phone has brought to reality what the rouge should have been after verizon made the rogue it's first mandatory data plan multi-media device!!! The rogue could have had been so much more, but samsung screwed that up!! But the mistakes they made are finally gone and the reality hit's the mark!!! The reality can now multi-task,and it's super responsive!! The intrenet experince is way better then the rogue! They sould have made this phone a rev.A,not rev.O!!! Other then that the phone in maroon, not red,is super hot sexy!!! It is the mini Omnia II with a full keypad!! I'm telling u if Samsung had mad that beautiful Omnia II a android phone it would have been a hudge seller!! But this beauty reality is an awsome phone!! It's right up their with the enV touch!!
Cool phone with a great design. I dig the size of it along with how user friendly the GUI is. Works quickly and has good sound quality as well. The only thing that's a downfall is that it doesn't interface with a Mac via the USB cable, at least from my experience so far. I have to set up the bluetooth to the Mac then browse the phone from my computer and send files that way. Even I've used a card reader to put the files on the micro SD card, the phone didn't recognize the sound files (mp3's and wavs) even thought they were on the card. Still love this phone though. Great call quality as well and the speaker phone is a little better than phones from the past.
It has great process and the 3g internet it works really fast and donloads quick it works exactly like the droid i had the samsung rouge and compared to the reality trust me it will not compare cause the reality works so much better. If you need a samsung thats a touch screen that is our best choice
