THE BEST PHONE I'VE EVER HAD

Phone owned for

I'm really a heavy user and I've had lots of phones and its lots of operational systems.
I've had an iphone 3GS,  samsung omnia HD with symbian,  samsung omnia with windows mobile and
so far Android is the best OS I've ever worked with.
Samsung Galaxy S is my first Android phone and I'm really impressed.
The 4" super Amoled screen is fantastic.  Everything gets beautiful in this display.
The touchscreen display is really smooth and responsible.
If someone told me,  I wouldn't believe what I can do with an Android phone.  I even
can create my own apps.  And in my opinion,  it's not limited at all.
Some HD games I've bought looked amazing on that screen.
I don't believe there's a OS or a phone without problems,  but I really can't remember what is wrong with
this phone, because the experience with Samsung Galaxy S is really incredible.
I think the lack of flash on the camera isn't really a problem, you know why? Because 1 of all camera phones
with flash has a good flash because flash does not work properly to take good pictures.  It's a smartphone...
If you want to take really good pictures,  buy a camera, please.
And we don't need a smartphone with a really good material because next year,  we are going to be changing
it again,  so.....
Samsung could only give a little more attention after selling you the smartphones.
And I really don't think it's a good idea to compare smartphones because any buyer knows what's the best
choice for anyone, right?
The best phone ever made by Samsung 'til next year, I hope so.

Should be a phone first

Phone owned for

I have had this device for about 3 weeks and its GLARING faults out weigh, by a great margin, its whiz bang attributes.

I find it incredible that a MOBILE device cannot do what my cordless home phone can do.

VOICE DIAL!!!

Why have BLUETOOTH capability and not be able to use one of the best features of BLUETOOTH. What was Google, the various manufacturers and the cell carriers thinking? Highly dangerous at worst( eyes of the road for MANY seconds and incredibly inconvienent  at the least )

The other is the AMAZING double unlock after the timeout, especially when you are on a phone call. No chance to push 5 to send a page or 7  to delete a call from voice mail.

I just guessing but the powers that be are trying to remove the phone from cell phone

As a plaything A+ as a MOBILE communication device D-.

Its back to my Blackberry for me

Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000M User

Phone owned for

Not overly impressed!Lots of great apps but touch screen is meant for small fingers. Constantly getting the wrong character from keyboard or wrong function from a list.My biggest gripe is that it is supposed to voice dial.  Voice dialer has not yet been able to pick out the right person.  However, after much tuning it is starting to get close.  At least when I say a name that starts with a J it finds someone whose name starts with a J.Also, it does not do hands-free dialing.  Considering that you have to start an application to voice dial it is just as easy to select a number from your contacts.  Actually it is easier because your more likely to select the person you want to talk to.Lastly, it takes two steps to start using the phone.  You have to press the activation button at the bottom of the phone to bring it to life and then you have to swipe your finger to access the phone.  This is a real annoyance and I have not found a way to turn the swipe requirement off.  What is the purpose of this anyway?  I could see it if it were a lock mechanism but anyone can press the button and swipe their finger across the screen.

Great phone

Phone owned for

I have the Galaxy S for 2 weeks now, purchased SIM-free, and I used it heavily mainly for business. I am very happy with it and it does fulfill all my expectations both for business and multimedia. The display is fantastic and all multimedia capabilities are top of the line. It can even play mkv files (HD 720p) without a hitch ! Absolutely brilliant ! Camera is also good and I do not miss the flash. It would have been nice to have it, at least to use it as a torch :-)The E-mail client however is buggy and a bit immature:* it does not automatically up-dated E-mail accounts, no matter how ofter I set it to do (5 - 30 minutes). Sometimes it updates, sometimes it does not. (I have 10 E-mail accounts....)* it is quite slow sometimes* you cannot edit the message you are forwarding (you forward it as it is, or not at all, there is no possibility to edit or remove part of the text)On my kind of use, the battery is dead after 8 hours. However, I use it very heavy. On normal use, it might last for a whole day. The phone is monstrous after all :-)The phone application is strange: if I exit the phone appplication while having a phone call on (press button to go to home screen), I cannot return in the same phone application. I only get controls of the phone on the status bar (end, hld, etc), but not on full screen. Also, in most cases, if I have a call waiting when i speak using a bluetooth headset, the headset gets disconnected.Bottom line: there are very few glitches which can be easily fixed (maybe on Froyo ?), but all in all, I think this is the best phone available today, better than any Nokia, HTC and Apple phone (and I do respect them all).

I cant find any point to call this phone a bad one, just that the apps store isn't as good as what the iphone has

Tottally disagree with PhoneArena rating it so low. Its by right has to be higher than what the Iphone has.

Galaxy S FTW!

This phone is packed with a powerful processor. Best GPU you can find in a phone today.
Great phone recommended for people searching for a super high end smart phone.

Design: The design is good. Nice shiny black, Really Flat phone. Big screen very bright.

Features: Really nice phone with a lot of Function witch load really fast.

Performance: Really fast, did not spot any lag and hang even after using for 2 weeks

I find the price really good although expensive. Built in 16GB internal memory which is abundant. Battery life is good per charge, no worrying of battery limit. Nice camera although no flash but included night mode for dark environment Really nice browser. Don't really find this phone bad at all.

Did not regret buying this phone at all.

A fact that its a Great phone!

Phone owned for

Hi, I am from Singapore.Iphone 3GS is a great trend phone in singapore, it can be seen everywhere. But after Galaxy S had been launched by Singtel, Lots of people who tried it have abandoned their Iphone 3GS. Including me!Great Video player, Powerful browser, Flash supportSuper AMOLED screen - Big and bright screen.(The Fish pond wallpaper is so clear its like having a real fish pond in my phone screen!) Fast and smooth performance, no lag no hang! Overall, i think this is a great phone that is worth buying. The only thing that isn't acceptable about bthis phone is that the Apps store could be even better, Apple apps store is way better. If there is even more games for the Android device, it can definetly replace my Ipod Touch and PSP. To the previous few review of those people rating 10, i definetly agree with them as this phone should be rated a higher score than just 8.5! It should be 9.5or 10!

Great phone

Phone owned for

After my Iphone3GS had spoiled and i had spent a great fortune buying Galaxy S.Its truly amazing! Its way better than the Iphone 3GS! A very big display, Super AMOLED screen is clear and big. Great internet browser woth flash support.View HD videos and play movies without any file format problem.Simply loves this phone. Did not regret spending a great amount of cash on it!But this phone must be taken with lots of care, such a slim and big phone feels fragile.Overall. This phone's camera, multimedia, Internet and Apps is great! People who wants a good phone and do not want to trust the iPhone 4 should definetly give this phone a try! Surely a great choice!Regards,Kate

Who says no flash light means fail?!

Phone owned for

Samsung Galaxy S surely the best smart phone for 2010!-Althought the Galaxy S lacks a flashlight for its camera function, its included a night mode which is also good.-This phone is far far far way better than the iPhone4 because its features and speed is way better than expected.-The AMOLED screen is way to beautiful. -968SGD is a very Good price for a smart phone this quality.-Very large screen.-Internal 16GB memory! You don't really have to buy another microSD card, 16GB is alot! But:-The design looks metal and solid in your eye. But once taken in your hand it feels too light, plastic feel. The weight should be heavier.  No matter how i view this phone, It surely wins the Iphone4, only the Retina screen and Apple apps store is better! Only apple fan boys will disagree my words! Galaxy S is the Winner!

Best Samsung smartphone yet.

Phone owned for

Without a doubt, Samsung Galaxy S is one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year.Surprisingly, it has the best UI compared to any other android devices. The super AMOLED display looks fascinating with a large 4 inches display. The phone is very responsive and fast. Sadly, it does not have flash near the camera. Other than that, this is one the best Android devices yet and definitely the best Samsung phone ever. This phone is highly recommended to those who loves android OS.

Can't wait to get one

Phone owned for

On paper, this phone seems to have everything one would want in a smartphone.  The lack of flash may be an issue for some people but I choose to focus on the Super AMOLED screen, the 1Ghz processor with GPU, the great camera software, TouchWiz.

no flash light???

Phone owned for

No flashlight, what a shame, very bad managment decision, its like they are trying hard to fail. why creat a high end product and leave a basic feature? Otherwise its a great phone. I just can not believe there is no flash light. Hopefully they will creat one with flash light. Also fire the project manager, who ever that was.
