Not good choice for day to day usage

Phone owned for more than a year

I purchased this phone in Dec 2018, and I'm now looking for a new one. That's around 2.5 years of usage. Here's my feedback on the phone:

[-] 1. Battery drainage is very high. I find myself in need to recharge the phone 2-3 times a day. It's even worse when you're using Google Maps for around 30-45 minutes. You can easily lose are 40% of the battery in this single usage :')
[-] 2. The phone heats on usages like apps updates and google maps.
[-] 3. The phone's responsiveness is VERY BAD. Around 40% of the time, you might wait for a few seconds after every tap! You might even have to forcefully kill the running app or might wanna restart the phone, if it doesn't restart on its own!
[+] 4. The body and build is good. It fell off many times and is still standing strong. The screen hasn't got any scratches.

Typical Samsung

Phone owned for more than a year

Typical Samsung bloatware and planned obsolescence. I bought this phone after my Note 7 was recalled. I had soured on Samsung after my issues, and friend's/family's issues with their previous Samsung devices, but I loved the Note 7 and was hoping the S7 Edge would be the same phone in a different body... It's a very different device. Some good, some bad, but longevity did this phone in for me. Last Samsung I will probably ever buy.

For my 2nd phone and 1st premium smartphone (after 9 months) it's awesome!

Phone owned for less than a month

On March.18,2017, my dad bought me my first ever phone, the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) V. It was an amazing and even better with Nougat. My S7 Edge is great, I got it on Christmas on 2017 and overall, it's not too big and is sleek and slim. My only concerns is the glass feels slippery when hot (I have a case) and I am now back to Touchwiz (my J3 started with Marshmallow and Touchwiz and went to Android 7.1.1 with Samsung Experience 8.5 while my S7 Edge currently has Android 7.0 with Touchwiz Grace UX) for now till Android 8.0 Oreo. Regardless, this phone is awesome and I absolutely recommended this phone!

Fragile, but fast. Kinda like an old greyhound.

Phone owned for more than a year

So to begin, this thing is covered in glass. It looks great in photos and is very sleek, which for many is a big drawing point. It is thin, it is fast, it is a greyhound...that is retired from racing and has rickety bones...on the outside.

Don't get me wrong, this is a top-notch phone that exceeds 80% of the competition, despite being released in 2016. I enjoy the speed and size of the screen and the large internal capacity and expandable memory.

I do not like the glass all around the body of the phone. This is a terrible design flaw, or an intentional design feature meant to have this phone show up in repair shops all around the country.

I am speaking from experience on the fragility of the phone. If you drop it, it will break, and you will find it hard to get any sort of repair done for under $350, even as the phone approaches it's 2 year anniversary.

Camera takes great pictures, it runs apps fantastic, the battery life can go on for days if used for phone calls only. The display is crisp (it does have a glare in bright lights), and for everyday usage, it is a great phone that is worth $800.

It is however, an old greyhound and is very prone to cracks and breakage.

My advice: Buy a good case and enjoy.

The Best Galaxy phone since ages

Phone owned for less than a year

Got this marvellous phone as a Christmas gift. coming from my 3 years old S4, i have to say that this phone is quite good if not excellent. ever since the S6/ S6 edge came out in 2015, the edge model was definitely my favourite but the bad battery life and sharp edges were important factors which made me say no to these models. Then came the galaxy S7 edge last year; since then, i am still amazed by that phone even if it is already 5 months old. in fact, the price tag is also more affordable than most of the other companies flagship phones so yeah definitely a nice move to buy one. only downside is that now with the nougat update the battery life was significantly reduced...you suck Nougat update T_T....Now i am waiting to test the new S8/S8+...

This may be my last straw with samsung

Phone owned for less than a year

I normally don't give bad reviews but will on this one. Samsung, I hope you are listening.

Please DO NOT use my personal smartphone as your advertising platform! Other than all the other problems I have with this phone daily- this is unacceptable.

I have had many smart phones and been a customer of samsung since the first galaxy S. Maybe not anymore. At least going to be very skeptical of any more phones they put out. I am having a hard time with spending as much as I did on this phone and getting worse performance than I would have gotten from a phone I could have gotten for free.

Best Galaxy yet!

Phone owned for less than 3 months

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is truly one device that stands apart from its competitors. Coming off from an iPhone 6s, the only thing I miss is the app availability and quality from ios. Other than that, the S7 Edge beats the iPhones in all areas. The camera is superb, the screen is jaw dropping, and it's waterproof. Just take into consideration that the battery life depletes quickly overtime. Overall, this is one of the best devices out there.

Greatest phone I've ever owned!

Phone owned for less than a year

This phone is amazing. Outright Amazing. It has an amazing display. It's camera is second to none with amazing photo and video capabilities. It is great for people who like/need to multi-task. Many of the Features of the phone are easily access with the edge features.Much improved battery life over its s6 counterpart.

To top all of the off, Samsung provides great support for the phone with patches and upgrades to the apps and operating system. Any problem I've had either with the phone or the apps, has not persisted for more than 2 weeks. Even with the longer persisting problems they seem to at least get easier to deal with or patched as time goes on and this happens quickly.

Magnificent phone! Upgraded from Note 4

Phone owned for less than a month

**I have the Exynos variant, please keep this in mind****(Note 4 was Snapdragon)**

Ever since the "Edge" phones from Samsung came out, I always thought to myself "that seems like a gimmick", but after seeing the S7 Edge, I really wanted to get my hands on one to see if this was the case. This device is nothing short of a masterpiece in design; I have the Titanium Silver, and having this color with the amazing curved edges, and the "Always on Display", really make this phone look like no other.

Before I had this phone, I was using a Note 4. I always looked at the S7 Edge and wondered if I should upgrade. I originally planned to wait for the next generation S8 or maybe even the Note 8 because I thought that going from a Note 4 to an S7 Edge wouldn't be a huge jump... but then I broke the digitizer on my Note 4, so I kind of had to get a new phone.

I have absolutely no regrets buying this phone. Even coming from a Note 4, this device is on a whole different level. It feels much more solid; it definitely looks and feels like it's massive price tag, something that couldn't be said of older Samsung flagships. The Touchwiz interface is optimized much better than before so this phone is extremely fluid compared to my Note 4. The AOD (Always on Display) didn't seem like a very useful feature before I had this phone, but after owning the a device with the AOD, I can safely say that it is very handy and that I don't think I will be able to use a phone in the future without it (If you have a wireless charging stand, it also acts as a night alarm clock!). The fingerprint reader on this device is leaps ahead of the one that I was using on the Note 4. Now I am able to press the home button and rest my thumb on it to unlock the phone whereas before, I had to swipe down on the home button, which took much longer and was much less accurate as well. In addition to all these upgrades, there is also a theme store on these newer Samsung devices, which is very cool. Now, when you want to change the look on your phone, you don't need to download a 3rd party launcher. Themes can be changed by easily via the theme store. This keeps the interface of the phone looking fresh all the time.

The edge functions on the phone are useful, but this is my personal preference; some people will still see it as a gimmick. The edge function that I use the most on my phone would be the "Apps Edge". I have all the applications I use the most on there, such as Chrome, Snapchat, and Whatsapp. This means that no matter what I am doing on my phone, I can just pull out the edge, and quickly access the apps I use most. I even put "S finder" on the edge, so when I need to quickly find something on my phone, I am easily able to search for it just by pulling out the edge. This edge is definitely has a lot of functionality, and I use it much more than the S Pen that I had on my Note 4.

More to write, but not enough space! lol

Overall it is good with typicall samsung problems

Phone owned for less than 3 months

So... Everybody knows good things I guess. Screen is great probably the best. Camera is great probably the best however shutter delays sometimes. And the flows. The speaker is so so but it is ok, the line out (headphone) volume I don't know from personal experience but according to other tests it is however better and better in the Samsung scale but not an HTC/Apple level. The materials and finish and design is great however of course the not edge version is far more comfortable to hold but at least it is better than S6 for my ear (s6 has a sharp edge there) The ear peace is not changed too much in time it is now quite old-school. Worst for me is Home button. I get accustom using on screen buttons recently and physical home button is a big step back and really unnecessary, HTC has Home button with fingerprint scanner without needing to push only touch. It is heavy to push and clicks, so not my favorite part but Easy Home app saved me however quite unreliable... And of course Touchwiz... However I like many feature but it is heavy still heavy and buggy and I already had to factory reset the phone cause it started restart by itself after 2-3 weeks of usage. I have never have this before with any of my phones. Now it looks fine but still, weird. And of course a friend of mine has a T mobile version mine is free and her phone seems different, like t mobile could optimize better than Samsung??? Or mine is a bad copy?Anyway, weird, even her easy home app works always... Water proof thing is awesome. And one more thing I really cannot understand since the beginning of Samsung phones. The left handed volume rockers. And especially now with these big phones quite every manufacturer started place the buttons lower and of course to right side which is much better but this is the worst, left side and on the top unreachable. I guess my skills are limited to understand this decision... Always on display is great however credit goes to Nokia Lumia, but when it changes dim according to ambient is quite like an unfinished software, no nice fading just hard switch. This is my biggest problem with the Samsung gear s2 watch too, when the watch face dims to power-saver face it glitches, flickers, also like an unfinished software instead of nicely fading to dim. This is the area Samsung still need to improve, the real user experience, the real aesthetics of eye catchy visual tech pleasures. Typicall samsung weirdness I factory reseted the phone from recovery menu and since then I don't have the same S healh pace meter widget as I had, weird huhh? I don't understand why they cannot set the phone to be unable to pick up phone when the proxymeter sensor is on means it is in my pocket I always hang up when I try to take the phone out however it is set to no need to slide just push but it is so lame and unnessesery to slide anyway. About lame volume buttons they are placed to opposite to power button so I accidentely push them sometmies when power off. EU version.

The biggest problem is the laggy Samsung keyboard, and the rest is almost perfect. Great camera, battery life, perfect size for a phone. Black Onyx is the best color, while Platinum gold looks like a gold christmas gift wrap.

Samsung made it: 10/10

Phone owned for less than 3 months

I believe this is the phone of the year already. It has a gorgeous camera, beautiful display, great battery life, it looks and feels pretty comfortable in hand as well. Sometimes you will try not to touch the screen when you watch video which can be hard and annoying a bit. This is a tiny problem and I love this phone. Everybody who wants the best phone, don't hesitate this what you are looking for.

Samsung got it right!

Phone owned for less than a month

coming from a Note 4, a beast in it's own right, I had high expectations. I worried about losing a few different things: 1-removable battery, 2-screen size, 3-battery life. yes, two of those are basically the same thing, but that's how much I stress over battery longevity. the S7 Edge has made me a believer, and I doubt I will have buyers remorse when the Note 6 comes out in August. I owned the S4 before the Note4, and I vowed never to come back to the S series again. never say never, because this guy is back, and happier than ever. I have tried to find something about this phone that I don't like, and after two weeks, I can't. I put this phone through everything that I normally do, and it just handles like a pro. lots of gaming, video streaming, facebook, Netflix, hulu, the S7 edge fires through these tasks like nothing I've ever seen, with nary a lag incident. I've TRIED to make the phone lag, but I can't. RAM management is superb, battery life is BETTER than the Note 4, and the build quality gets LOTS of attention from onlookers. this is a sexy beast, and it doesn't feel like a phone with a 5.5 inch display. my one suggestion is to get a very thin, clear TPU case, to give you better grip, as she's a slippery one out of the box, not to mention the infamous tag of "fingerprint magnet" on all colors. I have the silver one, and my clear case lets my tout my futuristic toy in all its glory. also, the waterproof/water resistant aspect is a super bonus, as water is just about everywhere we go, though I wouldn't suggest swimming or showering with the phone. I love this phone, I can't even sit at my desk at work without glancing at it every few minutes, just to marvel in it's sleekness, AND observe how the always on display barely impacts battery life AT ALL. 4 hours without touching the phone, I may lose 5% battery, if that much. this phone is just too good to be true.

Piece of Crap

Phone owned for less than a month

Title of this post might shock some and they may call me an iphone fan. This is one of the best phones available in the market with one flaw that out weights all its good looks and features. The home button is not only easy to scratch but its protective coating wears off easily. I purchased this phone after ditching iphone 6s but this home button has disappointed me. I noticed a scratch on the home button, which I thought was on the protective plastic on the home button. I tried to peel off the plastic, which resulted in even more scratches and finally I had to remove the complete paint from home button to make it look even.

Great, not Epic

Phone owned for less than a month

This is almos the perfect android device, but that "almost" implies a lot of little details that make the xperience not epic; but they are less than all the good things this phone have, like design wich is so good (an improved compared to older S6 family) and actually overall xperience....
The rest "bad" things are in the numbers below
