I don't like it anymore

Phone owned for more than a year

I've been using this phone for more than a year and im looking forward to getting a new one...
It gets slow when you install some things
Low built-in memoru ( i cant download more spotify music)
It heats up really fast when playing or watching videos over 4g-
Good speaker(not the best)
Once it fell from my knees and the screen broke so theres no "Gorilla glass"

Good phone, performance phone

Phone owned for more than a year

This phone was great at the time of release, great big display, calls easy, Android Ice Cream Sandwich was still running fast on this older phone unlike some other companies (Apple). UI is very customizable but not the easiest to use but drag and drop using Android file Manager worked sometimes. Multimedia is very good on this phone and internet is easy to use. Camera was very good but low light a bit poor. Very happy I had this phone. Put cyanogenmod custom mod on it and that was amazing except for when i got a battery problem, Samsung set it was out of warranty, lol. Data usage much better on this than iPhones. Uses less of your data for same outcome. RAM disappointing especially when newer software came out multitasking was slow and crashed a few times. In the end a very good phone but probably right now past its time

Terrible battery life

Phone owned for more than a year

Had this phone a bit more than a year. It was working great at the beginning besides some lag on playing games. Battery lasts shorter and shorter. After using it for a year, battery could only last for 2 hours if I listen to music. It couldn't even last 30 minutes when I take photos with flashlight on. The phone restarts by itself when I had a game on for about 15 minutes, and battery drains up after restarting even when it was 80% before it restarts, which is really annoying.

It's a fine phone

Phone owned for more than a year

I had it for almost 2 years before I broke its screen. I was happy with it but the repair would cost quite a bit so I decided to upgrade to a S4. Now I'm even happier :)
I'd still reccomend it if you need a good mid-range phone.

Great bang for buck!

Phone owned for more than a year

If there's one thing where Samsung usually excels is the feature set. This phone packs features I didn't even consider when I bought it, but it's a great surprise when you discover them. Things like Bluetooth aptX. I have a tablet that doesn't have it and you can tell the difference. Having said all that, the Nature UX is less than stellar even with the animation scale reduced. The lock screen lag is somewhat annoying. My current setup is quite smooth and responsive, but I'm using a third-party launcher, lock screen and I managed to install the stock Sony Xperia Z3 Walkman app. My final thoughts are that the pros outweigh the cons.

great phone after you change the software

Phone owned for more than a year

I bought this phone just after the s4 was released went to the shops the shop keeper suggested the s3 over the s4 so i took it.First few months thought it was the best thing out,but after that it got really laggy and I knew it couldnt be the phone because it has 2.4 quadcore snapdragon so i searched up what it was and found out it was the software so i spent a year tossing and turning on changing the software in the end i changed the software now it runs so fast. This phone does fit into the top phones of the year i reckon. If you can deal with some lag its a great phone.Does everything you ask has everything you need aswell i would say the screen is a highlight of the phone apart from its really easy to crack/scratch.

Love it, just a bit laggy for me

Phone owned for more than a year

A great phone, I am struggling to find something suitable to upgrade to without bringing out a mortgage, which you don't need for this! I have used this phone for over a year now and have persevered a little to get the best from it but wouldn't really change it without a push.

Best phone ont the market

Phone owned for less than a month

This phone has some good features including the HD CAMERAs, HD screens, large screen 4.8 inches and also there are some good battery life which is 2100mAH. The phone runs theAndroid Jelly Bean 4.3 which isnt the latest anymore but it runs well. And anyone who said that the system doesnt run well well better check they havent been misusing the phone. The design may not inspire many but whats the point of having a good design but a phone that doesnt cost well. Now its still selling like 2 years after it was released which says something about the S3. Loving the device.

Best 2012 smartphone

Phone owned for less than a year

It is an awesome phone. I like it very much. It was the best at his time. It has a nice design ( but with a cheap plastic), very good camera, awesome display (although it has only 720p) good CPU, good GPU, good battery (it charges very fast, but discharges fast, a second battery is good ). Sometimes is lagging but I have too many apps installed. Is a very good phone for everyday usage ( a second battery is good ). The internet speed is good. Games like Fifa 15 and Asphalt 8 are usually working very good, but sometimes they are lagging. It's good that a SD card can be used.

Not a bad daily driver

Phone owned for more than a year

I had one for AT&T for about a year and a half. It doesn't do great with drops - my screen is shattered from falling 2 feet onto hardwood. Touchwiz is garbage - bloatware galore - and it shows in the UI. Besides that, the UI is pretty and works well... when it works. Good screen size, average camera and video recording, customizability is pretty good too. Solid phone for the price.

Not that bad.

Phone owned for more than a year

I have had it for 1 year and a half, I liked the screen but I hate the plastic build, terrible UI Speed, and the battery drains fast. Overall it's a great phone, it's getting a bit outdated so I decided to post a review now.

I think overall it is well rounded cant really complain, I might even dare call it the best phone of its year and one of the most anticipated 8.1mp camera is more than enough and android is easy to use.

Very good phone!Best for its price!

Phone owned for less than a month

S3 is a perfect phone.Display is very nice and clean, good colors and viewing angels.Processor quad core is very good, and works very well, it can handle everything.I mostly like a camera.Makes outstanding photos!Has many features, I think that made of S2 and S3 is best thing Samsung ever did.Honestly, i like more S3 then S4.Phone is totally worth the money, in Serbia new phone is 210 Euros, which is awsome price for this device.Buy it, you wont regret it!

It was good.....for awhile

Phone owned for less than a year

The first 3 or 4 weeks i was so unbelivevably happy the phone worked amazingly. after that it lagged so much, and because of a very bad software update the speaker would randomly turn on while listening to music with headphones, samsung said there was no way to fix it....it wasnt a very big deal but a later software update stopped the camera from working so i rooted it to Cyanogen Mod

Galaxy S3 best smartphone until Galaxy S5

Phone owned for more than a year

Is the only phone capable to do everything i want. Removable battery, sd card slot, good processor... Only one disadvantage: poor ram memory. But none has good ram and the other features. Galaxy S4 is also a good smartphone, but not many changes from S3.

Samsung Galaxy s3:worst phone and Samsung: worst after sales service provider

Phone owned for less than a year

And the well reputed Samsung Mobile India finally accepted that " We will not repair your phone under warranty" in warranty time. Reason being "You have misused the phone. You would have charged your phone when light was fluctuating" and " You would have thrown your phone in water" etc etc.
Dear Samsung, please prove it if you are so sure about misusing. I could also say that I was given the faulty motherboard etc etc.

I understand it is just 10 days of my warranty time just so it is justified from your side to delay the matter. You cannot even accept the responsibility of the the issue I am facing from last 9 months, just after 2 months of purchasing. Dear Samsung Mobile India, I would like to bring to your notice that I live in a hostel where there are many persons charge their phone at a time. If fluctuation would have happened, many of my hostel mates' phones of the brands like zen, lava, spice etc would have burnt completely. But no other motherboard is burnt except my flagship phone S3's motherboard. I was fool to pay a huge 30k money for a phone I thought will be the value for money. I should have purchased the phones worth 10k (the money you are asking now to replace motherboard) of the brands lava, spice etc giving same feature as yours whose motherboards can bear minor light fluctuations. Dear Samsung, I have purchased and paid the huge sum for S3 just for your brand. I had never thought that would be the worst decision of my life. Customer care representatives are saying that no other persons are facing the same kind of issues. Kindly go through the following forums :-

I can paste you 1000 of forums discussing about the charging issues.

Here are the worst forums of Samsung "Sudden death" issues where motherboard is damaged completely.

And lots of forums likes this.

I never thought S3 would be so hyped. I am never ever going to purchase a mobile of the company which doesn't understand the concerns of its valuable customers.

So finally, I am going to consumer court today

How awful!

Phone owned for less than a year

This was my first 'proper' smartphone, and I cannot believe how bad it is, first of all the UI; it lagged using the stock Android supplied to an infuriating degree. I managed to rectify this by installing Cyanogen Mod, which improved things no end. Camera is poor; there's too many cons to mention

Unbelievably disappointing

Phone owned for more than a year

I've owned Samsung's old flagship smartphone for over a year (even an hour seems like an eternity in hell), and the experience left an astoundingly bitter taste.

I've constantly experienced lag issues, painfully slow performance in almost all situations - for example: the stock camera or browser would take 5-8 seconds to start up, random restarts, apps freezing. I tried every official and unofficial tip and workaround I could get - to no avail.

It was all blamed - of course - on issues with the way I used the phone, app problems and so on - until allowing support to test the phone personally. While they were looking for a solution, the phone died completely (good timing, for once) and I was issued a refurbished unit as a replacement. New phone, same problems, but this one didn't completely sign off, so I was stuck with it, waiting for an "update that would solve such issues".

Apart from the phone issues, I went through 4 (four) chargers in 9 months - eventually, something would happen to them that would cause an inexplicably slow charge (about 30% over 7 hours). Once I switched to using chargers from other manufacturers, the charging issues stopped.

Since I know people who did not experience these problems, it might have just been bad luck (twice in a row), but such crippling software issues, cheap-looking exterior and unhelpful support make this phone a laughable "flagship". As long as the company sticks to these practices, I will not buy a Samsung smartphone again.

Very Happy

Phone owned for less than a month

i bought it because it was on sale unlocked in my country and turned out to be amazing. I have wished to have since it's release and i can tell wasn't dissapointed. The phone itsef is gorgeous, but seems too fragile so with a case y seems much more heavier and thicker, but that's just personal opinion. Overall the performance is great, i have encounter any issues except that it heats a lot when playing games, any kind even with the ones of low graphics.

Phone owned for more than a year

It could be a great phone, but it have a lot of problems. it have a great camera, and good quality of phone calls. But it was so slow, and it was too much laggy, I see others sgs3 and everyone have the same problems. I finally changed for a Xperia ZL and i am happy. But i don't understand why google nexus and motorola doesn't have fm radio, micro sd, and physical camera button.
