This Phone was amazing. I have the chance to draw on lectures, to take notes faster. The big screen and vivid colors was also the good part of the phone where I can see everything better. It was a pleasure to have it.
This phone is still a solid device in July 2018.
Great pictures. Screen display is awesome for watching videos, internet TV, reading text and documents for work.
Love being able to add and swap SD cards so that I can have movies on the go for my family car rides and not constantly have to use data.
Fast charge if you need it. I can buy and replace the battery myself instead of paying more to have the battery replaced at a phone shop.
S-Pen I don't use that much.
Being able to use this phone as a remote for my tvs, stereo, DVD player, roku.
Games work great on this phone. I have 2 Note 4 phones. My daughter has the other one and plays games and YouTube alot and rarely complains about any lag.
The only time I see a lag is when to many apps are opened. Just like your laptop or PC, the more you have opened, the slower they typically will be.
Really you don't need to buy a brand new phone. They're cool to have but if you buy a new budget/cheap phone, you'll be irritated with the slow speed, no storage space, average or poor camera.
If you buy a new midrange phone, you may get the newest software but might not be able to add an SD card for more storage. Camera is also a hit or miss, some good, some not.
High end new phone? If you can comfortably afford one without having to think or stress over it, then go for it. If you're like the average consumer, $600-$1,000+ for a phone is hard.
Phones are at a point like laptops and PCs. You don't need to replace them every year or 2 anymore. Get a decent Android or iPhone and make it last 4 years or more.
Yes, I know there are those that will say "but what about the software updates?" or "but I'm on software version blah blah". Unless you're watching porn, downloading illegal stuff or clicking everything that pops up on your browser, then you will be fine.
I use both Android phones and iPhones.
IPhone 3g, 3GS, 4s, 5s, 6s. The 6s was a business phone.
Galaxy Note; the original, Note 4.
Motorola Droid, Droid Maxx.
Windows phones.
Blackberry, long ago.
This is my second note 4. My first one fell in the toilet ( literally!!) so being under warranty I was given an Galaxy S-6. I sold it within a week as it was too small in my hands. The money I got from that sale went towards purchasing my currently used note 4. That user was still using his note 3 and sold me his hardly used Note 4. I love the stylus (with a small pointy tip) and it makes it very easy navigating webpages. I also find that I can take down lecture notes using yahoo email, the stylus and autospell. I am able to basically keep up with the speakers train of thought as I write it down. A great focusing/recording tool instead of using your finger to write. If Google ever comes out with a THIN TIPPED stylus on a large phone with a good camera I might buy theirs next time. Because operating system updates seem to be slow in coming from them with the note 4 in the past. I have no issues with the phone that way at the time of this writing ( October 2017)
Replacement battery option is one I love. I have two spare batteries and a battery clip on recharging pack. Great for long overnight hikes in woods or travel. Not a fan of the single battery system. Thereby forcing you to buy a new phone when the internal battery dies. The internal only battery system is the main reason I am not buying the note 5 or 8. Even though I bought the note 1 (my first smart phone) and note 3. I have generally been really pleased with the note system up to the note 4. But I will see if I come back to it in the future. Maybe if there is water /dust resistance and a replaceable battery in the next release Note 9, I might buy it.
The phone fits easily in my hands or breast pocket of shirt or jacket. It size is actually good because I can feel it there on me. Where as a smaller phone Samsung S-6 I was alway having to double check what pocket I put it in to make sure it was on me.
Phone build quality was great and sound quality and operating features are sound, the apps I use work well on it. So definitely a 9.78 from me.
With this phone I have started to realize how good and useful the recent mobile devices have become. I'd say this phone is perfect, but it's gpu is not powerful enougth to run modern games and VR apps.
Nitpick:
Can't find a good keyboard app for it. Even with a smaller sized screen the stock keyboard in my previous Sony xperia V phone was a lot better.
One of the best phone I ever used! I come from S5 and I did not expect to be a big difference but there is: A BIG SURPRISE. Gorgeous 5.7' QHD screen, premium design with metal frame, 16 MPx OIS camera with 4K video recording, really fast charging, huge improvement in multitasking with 5.1.1 update, good battery life. After 1 and a half year still hard to find a phone good enough to replace him...but I will still keep it even if I will buy another phone. I will recommend to everyone this phone, still a beast and a total package (microSD slot, IrDA, fingerprint, removable battery, 16 mpx/3.7mpx camera, heart rate/UV sensor) what hard you will find in other phone ;)
It is a superphone that made by Samsung , it feels u that u had a real bar that is a absolutely can do great things specially when u have the "H" version, that is a octa core chip , with great battary life, n amzing screen depth
The phones display is literally the only good thing about this phone. It is incredibly slow because of all the bloat wear. Touchwiz is a disaster! Save yourself do not buy this phone, you'll sell it after three weeks like I did. This phone has three places to text and three places to view pictures, so so much bloat wear.
This is the second Samsung, first note 2 then this one.
I don't like to change the brand and familiar with....
I bought it due to heating problem in my old phone. It was not bad after long time usage.....
But I was frustrated of all Samsung when I see the heating problem after 10 minutes of use, by searching the internet I found it is popular!!
Tried factory reset, change battery, etc. and ended to Samsung service center. Imagine repair your new phone after two days!!
However I decided it will be my last Samsung, trusting that in the coming couple of years they won't be famous any more by selling phone faulty from the box!!
I suddenly have it for almost 3 months, and it's awful. Battery works for several hours. Photos looks like the're sharpen too much by program, so they're useless. Internet applications like Chrome or build-in one are very buggy. UI is very laggy. I definitely recover from buiyng it. That was the last chance. Bye, Samsung, your phones are bad.
I was very happy to buy note4 but reception was horrible you can find lot of claim about reception ecpecially 3g is so bad - ı sold out after 1 month , was so sad to paid lot of money --samsung please check your phones before sale
It’s almost a perfect phone. The phone does everything and more. With that being said there are a few things Samsung could fix on their phones. I will get into that later. WARNING- this is a long post that might be boring…..
Screen- Best screen I’ve ever seen on a phone. Text is extremely crisp, makes all other phones look blurry(especially side by side with the iphone6). Videos look amazing on the phone as do pictures. Watching a 4K video on my phone is pretty awesome( I know it gets suppressed down to 2K). One thing that Samsung fixed on previous phones is sunlight visibility. Then there is a feature that if you put your phone on auto brightness in direct sunlight the screen goes extremely bright. (I know it’s also on the S4, Note 3 and S5)
Camera- the camera on this phone is quite amazing. Takes very detailed pictures. Has a few fun features and the low light pictures have improved. However low light is still the biggest weakness on the camera. The video on the phone is very nice. It has OIS which helps with low light photos and makes your videos stable. Slow motion is cool and 1080p is very good. I haven’t tried 4K on it yet, but from looking at youtube videos of Note 4 4K video, it looks very good.
S-pen- At first I had a hard time finding a way to use the pen. However I use it for work now and it has become pretty handy. There is a lot to learn about it, and I would like to use it more. Some cool features I like are copy and paste, dragging a picture and dropping it into s note or a text message is nice. I use action memo the most and it’s pretty nice to use.
Battery life- Very good. Not the best(that probably goes to the droid turbo) but very good. I’m a intermediate to heavy user and I easily get through the day. On average at the end of the day I’m at 40-60% left. When I don’t use the phone heavily I get two days of battery life. On heavy use I am usually at 20% at the end of the day. I haven’t tried Ultra power saving mode, but I’m sure one day it will be handy.
Features- This phone is full of them. Most are pretty useful. Multi Window is an awesome feature that should be on every smartphone with a bigger screen. I can watch a Youtube video while looking at CB. S-beam and NFC is really nice. Wifi direct is also a great feature that lets me transfer anything over to another phone. Fingerprint scanner is pretty good. Not as good as the iphone, but much better than the Galaxy S5. Heartrate monitor…. Fun, but not a killer feature that you must have. IR blaster is another feature that should be on all phones. I can control anything from the TV on my phone.
Things I don’t like- Samsung has improved a lot of their apps such as Gallery and others, however the phone and message app are still relatively slow compared to the competition. Most phones won’t take longer than half a second to load the p
One thing that bothers me is no Camera Api 2.0 and the battery could be a bit better. Other than that, the screen is fantastic, as is the camera. Picture quality is great! Signal is pretty solid, with 4G+ speed beeing very good.
The Samsung GALAXY Note 4 has a 3 GB DDR4 Ram with 32 GB Internal storage. A 2.7 GHz Quad Core processor to power it more consistently. What i love about the Galaxy Note 4 is its Display and Awesomeness. Although the Battery lasts for exactly half a day with heavy use its still a good Smart phone. You do not have to worry about the Battery as it has fast charging, A 100 % in 1hour and 20-25 minutes. Thats not what we really thought it would be but its ok. Its new Camera with Optical image Stabilization has a great effect on Photos taken under low light.
Overall the Phone is very good. I would recommend people who like Phablets to purchase this one.
I used this phone for a few days already and I really like the size, the camera, the stylus and how apps work.
The note 4 has everything but is not polished.
Fingerprint scanner - more miss than hit
Screen - I don t like the colours when the screen is at a low brightness, but such a high resolution makes it look awesome.
Camera - best on smarphones
S Pen - fun to use and useful
Build quality - feels great in hand. I like it, but others don t like the leather plastic back cover.
Battery - I expected more. Quick charge is nice to have.
Features - I really like dual window and the extrem battery saving mode. I don t really use the fact it has replaceble battery and micro SD slot. Maybe in the future.
UI - I used Nexus 5 with SD 800 and Oneplus with SD 801. Note 4 with 805 feels a lot slower. Touch wiz has a lot of good things going for them. I wish they find a way of making it move faster.
Conclusion: Even though Touch wiz runs the show, i still enjoy this phone. Overall, I think is the best phone one can buy today if the Samsung Galaxy S6 has the same Touch wiz lag.
in the midst of researching my next smartphone, I found out I could upgrade on the Verizon Edge plan 4 months early. the proud owner of the Galaxy S4, I wasn't in a terrible hurry, and the Galaxy S6 had just been announced. I seriously considered waiting for the newcomer, but the lack of a removable battery soured me. so, I went to my local verizon store and scoured the landscape for my new smartphone. the Motorola Droid Turbo caught my eye, but only for a moment. the Galaxy S5 didn't impress me when it first came out, and nothing had changed. so, the Note 4 was the obvious choice. I seriously thought this was just a larger S4 or S5, but I stand corrected. the display is absolutely wonderful, the ability to multitask is super cool, and my battery life is MUCH better than any smartphone I've ever had. I barely use the stylus, but when I do, it's very very nice and adds so much functionality to the phone. I love this phone, my only gripe is of course, touchwiz, which can still be a bit laggy when opening some programs (youtube, etc)
Really a great device. only problem is with software.. else everything is excellent. no performance issues... great camera.. good build quality.... if samsung pushes the galaxy s6 software into note 4,then it will be great.... lets see what next come in Note 5......eagerly waiting for Note 5....hope samsung put back the sd card slot........ overall m very happy wirh note 4
Nothing comes close to the utility of this phone. I love the multitasking feature of this phone and I absolutely adore the S-Pen! It's made my life much easier as I no longer have to carry a small notepad with me whenever I work. Opening multiple apps becomes not just a breeze but actually something very enjoyable. It has the best camera in the Samsung smartphone business and the OIS is definitely a big plus. The 4k video recording is also a great feature. Overall, this phone is amazing. You'd be hard pressed to find a better one in the current market.
I've had many Android phones and only one iPhone, but this is beyond the best phone I ever had! Its worth the money! I have the ATT version so I have to wait 20 years for an update but Kitkat is pretty good! The S-pen is very handy! People are tempted to use my phone for fun, touchwiz is a little laggy but isn't a deal breaker! The camera is very good!
Stellar performance, good build quality and respectable battery. But still had kitkat and I don't know when my device(n9100h) going to be updated to lollipop. Sometimes the fingerprint id isn't working and take too much try to unlock the screen. Overall this device is one of the best android on the market!
It is a great phone with obvious improvements from Note 3, I've never used any phblets heavily but this phone has successfully dragged me in to use one. Guess what,it didn't fail me. It really is a superb phone and I can't express enough how good this phone is, I'd call this beastly, beautiful phblet as almost perfect phone with some insignificant downsides. The rear camera which packs with stunning sensor with good lens with the helps of OIS,it took both great images and very nice video recording with good voice capture capabilities.
A high end smartphone with great features and value for money. The phone deliver the same performance I had assumed considering preceding model i.e. note 3. I am sure this phone will note disappoint anyone who is looking for a complete package.
A phone filled with a plenty of features!! Two weeks after getting the note 4, I’m still discovering new features and new functions! it’s awesome. Apart his known features (Spen, Photo Note, Fast charging,…), there is a very useful hidden ones. One of my favorite is the “My Places Widget” which allows you to display apps based on your location (HTC has copied it in his new flagship m9).
I dreaded TouchWiz for its laggy reputation. For now (after 2 weeks of intensive use), I have not seen any lag yet !
I’m happy !
One of the best phones ever made! The Exynos doesn't skip a beat with the gargantuan display and love the features such as Private Mode etc making even TW likeable :)
I am not a fanboy of either iOS nor Android and have swapped quite frequently between the two since the last few years but i do prefer to have a SMARTPHONE which allows me to set a default program for open files etc.
i had a sony xperia v then traded it for a galaxy s3, now i got my self the note 4 and i'm truly happy with the phone the battery lasts me 2 days without power saving mode i'm not a heavy user as you can think but the s3 lasted me one day and the v not even a day i was overwhelmed by the size at first but now i will not go back to a smaller display(phone)
i recomend this phone to anyone!
Great all round phone, with awesome features. With the 3GB of RAM the multitasking features work seamlessly. The s-pen is one of a kind making this phone stand out from all the other out on the market. It is simply the best.
