Every Day Tool

Phone owned for less than 3 months

Absolutely amazed of the speed. Everything is working smoother than on any phone I've used before. In my workflow I've often to use the stylus which tip is great for handwriting and taking quick notes with S-Note.

Jack of all trades....

Phone owned for less than 3 months

What can I say about the Note 2 that hasn't already been said. The phone has it's flaws in my opinion, mainly it's restrictive Touch UI and limited usefulness of its pen...720p screen instead of 1080p. That's pretty much it, and as you can see those are pretty weak flaws.
In other words, though not perfect, it is pretty close in my opinion. Just the right size for surfing, typing and watching video, while still not so large that it prevents the device from being a useful phone...though I still retain my clamshell for most of my calls. Build quality is really good (a bit perplexed at the choice to make the back cover a snap on plastic affair...), battery life great, touch screen responsiveness impressive, etc. You can install other launchers to use if the Touch UI is not to your taste of course. Perfect size in my opinion to act as a regular GPS unit.

A few recommendations. Pick up a BT keyboard, good case (make sure it's a protective case, many good ones on the market), some kind of stand, an equalizer app to boost sound quality, quality bud headphones and a good THREE PRONG car dock...two prong docks will constantly push the volume button. I own this and the HD2, in my opinion the most mod friendly phone ever made.

Possibly the best android out right now.

Phone owned for less than 3 months

I have had my Sprint Galaxy Note 2 since Jan. 19 and love it. The screen is amazing and huge, yet i can still use it with ease. I have had many people ask me what phone i have and etc. The battery is great so far, yet im only on Sprints 3g speed since my area in the Upstate of SC has yet to get lte but i have gotten through a day with on average over 30-40% left. Ill take it off charge at 6am and by 10pm ill still have plenty of battery to watch Youtube, play games, or surf the web before i go to bed, i have yet to kill the phone through daily use, im sure 4g lte will use a little bit more battery just how much? The call quality is very good, no complaints there plus their is a little button that you can push while in a call that boosts the ear piece volume. I have no complaints about this phone, I love it!

Samsung Galaxy Note II

Phone owned for less than a year

Best phone I have ever owned. Glad I chose the Note II over the Iphone 5. Battery almost lasts a full day if you are a heavy user. I only have to CONS. The bottom of the phone is getting scratched by the charger and I have issued with the GPS. Phone is always trying to connect, I cannot check in on Facebook 90% of the time and APS that require GPS do not work most of the time. I am going to take it in to see if its a faulty phone or if it is a software problem.

Overall good phone but battery doesn't last long enough if you are a heavy user

Phone owned for less than a month

Overall a good phone but not without its flaws and at the price there shouldn't be any, battery isn't as great as the capacity suggests , camera could be better indoors and I constantly get a maps error message even though they are closed

most of motion sensors don't work! It's not smart at all

Phone owned for less than a month

These motion options simply won't work for me:
quick glance
1- smart rotation
2- double tab to top
3- wake up command voice needs network
what if I don't have one always?! and why should it use network for such a simple job?

not so samrt in these parts:
1- smart note
imagine you are working/thinking about a subject during the day. Every time you double tap with smart pen it opens a new S note, there is no fast/smart way to bring up the same note you were working on or at least a list of recent notes you were woking to be opened from the S note window.
2- turn on screen.
you should press the power button each time which is really slow responsing and a PITA!! no smart sensor for this part. as I told quick glance does not work at all. (for example to wake up when you open the lid of cover like amazone kindle paperwhite smart cover)
3- add photo note:
why there is no handwrite detection here? at least as a option.

Galaxy note II

Phone owned for less than 3 months

Samsung Galaxy Note II, is simply the best Android phone for october 2012. I used to own galaxy note 1 and bought the note II simply because the note 1 deliver what I expect and I like the note 2 over the note 1 for the faster cpu and enhanced software for the S-pen that I used daily. The battery is really good in the note II and much better than the previous note 1. I also liked the 2GB ram and I found my browser shut down in my note1 due to lack of memory ram ( 1GB in note 1) when I open lots of pages in phoneArena over 12 pages but the note 2 has no problem opening over 20 pages at the same time. One thing I like more about the note 1 is the screen ratio 16:10 compare to note II 16:9 that I didn't like much.
Overall I am very happy with my unlocked phone and yes looking forward to buy the note 3 when available.
P.S. I wrote this quick review using my galaxy note II.

Best Phone, if you can get past the size

Phone owned for less than a month

Note 2 left me speechless after I switched from desire. The difference between single core and quad core is amazing. I rarely cam across any lags or stutters. I wish it was true Android experience, as I have never felt android to be this smooth, not even with the custom ROM for my previous phone. Multi tasking is fairly easy, big ram and multi window only supports it. I have found myself using these features along with pop and play frequently often. S-Pen, however isn't for everyone, but it can improve your efficiency and it has helped me save time. Watching movies or TV shows just can't get better. If you have no issues with the size, its a must have phone. Camera recording could have been better though, its good not great. Its plastic, but I get a case for expensive phone anyways. So good enough for me. Battery last one day with HEAVY usage, two days with average. Its a beast.

The best phone in the world to date!

Phone owned for less than a month

First thing I want to say is that, this phone is awesome! The display, call quality, battery life, the amount of software, removable battery (a plus for me), jelly bean(super smooth with project butter), micro sd slot, true multitasking (split screen view) and I can keep going for hours. All in all, I think this phone is a beast and it is going down in the history Book as the best phone in the market. I can't recommend enough to my friends and family to buy this phone. 1 of the reason they didn't buy this phone yet because the size and the high price tag. That's the only cons I can think of. When I bought this phone, all I can say is "Damn this thing is huge!" but after three days with this phone endlessly playing with this phone, I used to the size of this phone and when my father's back from his holiday, his s3 look so small when I first used it about 4 months ago. God damn what wizardy is this? Other that that, I think this phone is just perfect. Buy it and u will surely love it:D

Phone owned for less than a month

One of the best phone we have ever tested. Superb built quality, awsome sound, enough power for amazing multi tasking, Large and vivid screen. best for reading books and watching movies. In a country having electricity problem (Pakistan) battery life seems to be bit low. otherwise Galaxy Note 2 is 2nd to none. phonemart.pk highly recommend this phone

Excellent

Phone owned for less than 3 months

Amazing phone. Was a bit concerned about the size. Now that I've been using it for a while, I've gotten accustomed to it, And I have to admit; everything else seems a bit mediocre.
Though everything is working flawlessly, I keep looking forward to the 4.2 update.

Decent enough.

Phone owned for less than 3 months

What is samsung thinking of to use such cheap hollow plastics on such a high-end device? No chance to beat any rival in terms of build quality. Reception and call quality is decent, internet is great because of the large screen. However, the screen has less pixel density compared to the previous model. I don't like all the "improvments" samsung has made to their interface, it makes the UI looks a bit cartoonish and old fashioned. Battery is decent enough. Design of the phone is a bit too round and i won't remember it for too long.

Samsung Note 2 Big but still the best !!!

Phone owned for less than a month

I had the S3 and loved it but decided to give it to the wife to get the Note 2. I must admit the first few days I thought it was to big. Despite it's size I stuck with it and now I could never go back to anything else. I thought the S3 was the best phone I have ever had but the Note 2 takes it up another step. Jelly bean is just a little better and smoother than ICS. The screen defies logic, it's got a lower pixel count but yet looks better than anything out there. The over all performence of the phone is great. I hate it when people say a phone is perfect so here's the other side of the rating. The S pen take some getting used to. It's not very useful in the air mode, it's to sensitive and can not be used for anything beyond a preview of email but, turn that off and it's much better. The size is big but now everything else seems to small even the S3. Once you enjoy the large screen it's just to nice to want to go smaller. Emials, videos, internet and pictures are so much nicer on the large screen. Text imput is good but not great. IM not sure what Samsung does with their predictive text but it's needs improvement. Overall It's a great phone, the best I've ever used.
