Great Phone, Runner Up To iPhone

Phone owned for

Great phone for ATT, its samsungs best attempt to replace the omnia on att's line-up, just wished samsung would've included basic features such as speed and voice dial, threaded messages would've also been great. Hope Update comes soon.

this is one of the best phones i have ever used. right when you pick it up it feels great. the screen isnt too small but it isnt ridicilously big. its not heavy but its got some bulk to it so it feels really sturdy. the widget bar is reallt cool and usefull. i dont really see the point in having 3 different clocks but whatever ots still really cool. the on screen keyboard works really well to. i actually had an easier time typing on the horizontal keyboard rather than the qwerty but thats just my opinion. i dont have tv service in my area so i caant really say anything about that but overall its a great phone. only problem is no wifi

holy mother of phones

Phone owned for

I was debating over the quickfire and this phone but i am SOOO glad I picked this!!All the features are so easy to use. The sleek and smoothness of the phone is absolutly perfect for a person like me, its easy to put it anywhere including in your pocket (i had a hard time doing this with the quickfire). A lot of people dnt seem to no this but u CAN search people's names on this phone (in address book, on the screen there is a magnifying glass botton on the far left and u touch that and scroll down to the desired letter). The screen is very big and very clear. the camera is 3 .0 mega pixels and the pics come out crystal clear. I've had this fone for three days and i havnt charged it since i got it, but the battery is still 2bars (which is amazing considering how much i played with it). I disagree with a lot of people about the full QWERTY keyboard and how it "takes a long time" but i've experienced that it flips over perfectly fine.. as fast as an iphone. The menu button delivers EVRYTHING unlike the quickfire. It shows: address book, messaging, yellowpages, at&t music, TV, CV, Media Net &Mall, AT&T GPS, my stuff, tools, and settings are all on one simple, touchable page.I was also choosing between this and the LG VU, but the LG VU seemed a bit...plasticy and cheap (which this is not the case for this fone). One thing I recomend is to get the plastic stick-on film for the screen because the screen is quite big and if u drop the phone....ouchh.one thing i wish from this phone is- i wish the price was a little cheaper..my dads still upset that I had to pick this phone bcause of the price.Overall, this is a GREAT phone and I HIGHLY recommend it. :)***** when you first get a fone, wait until the battery runs out compeletly before charging it for the first time. This expands your battery life*****"

This phone is probably the BEST phone ever, aside for the NO wifi.
I had the LG VU, and totally hated the look and how you had the literally PRESS into the screen, which is totally the oppsisite of this phone.
Its a crisp clean screen, and an amazing touch sensitivty,

Very cool phone...

Phone owned for

I just received my Eternity a couple days ago.  This is my first "gadgety" piece of electronics in a while so I must say that I am pretty impressed with it.  I haven't seen the iPhones, iPod Touches,  or any other touchscreen phones in person, so I really don't have anything to compare the Eternity to. I hang out at http://www.Samsung-Eternity.com very often.

Eternity For Christmas!!

Phone owned for

So over the past few days I have been thinking of stuff to get for christmas.  After 3-4 days I still had nothing to put on my list other than 1 Xbox 360 game.  Then I was looking at phones on the AT&T store because my 2 year plan was almost over.  And that's when my eyes first met on the all new Samsung Eternity.  IT LOOKED AWESOME.  The huge screen caught my eye first.  Then when I saw that it has a full keyboard made me dream for that phone because of the texter I am.  After many review's I heard that there aren't many cons but unlimited pros.  And now christmas seems like an "Eternity" away, but I know that I will not be disapointed.  CAN'T WAIT!!!!

wow....

Phone owned for

I have had my new Eternity for about 3 days now and this is one cool phone. I had a 8125 HTC pda phone and this thing is just as nice if not better and a lot smaller. I wish you could create and make new widgets for the front but oh well !!! The mp3 player is awesome . I have a 4g memory card with about 500 songs so far. And if you really want to check the player out I have a set of BOSE TP1 headset and this thing kicks butt. You can change the player setting for what sounds you like best. The camera is nice but no flash :( ....As far as sending text or messages I had trouble with the iPhone hitting wrong keys but not with this one.So far I am a happy camper. I just ordered the invisible shield for the front and the rear. So far there is just not a lot of accessories out there yet.

2008 Phone Of The Year

Phone owned for

This is the best phone out there period. It has the best screen, features, and ease of use i have seen so far in non-PDA phone. The only major improvement i would make is to allow the widgets to be customized by being able to add or remove them. I had a Moto razor and upgraded to this phone, kinda like going from a VW to a BMW. Buy this phone, its a no-brainer

Excellent Touch

Phone owned for

I have had this phone for 2days and I can not believe How responsive it is. I am still trying to figure out all the capabilities.... I never even wanted the Iphone because I am not an Apple person...I could care less about WIFI as menetioned earlier although I did purchase the media package for 1 month as a try out. This phone is lightweight, sexy and easy to figure out. The touch wiz and screen are awesome. I usually keep my phones on vibrate with a low tone and this phone does that well. The TXTG is great and easy and you can also change the format and use the handwriting txt with a stylus (i have never seen this feature before) ..... anyone looking for a great touch screen phone---- GET THIS SAMSUNG ETERNITY! you wont be sorry..unless you are an Apple geek!

Highly Recommended Product

Phone owned for

I've read a good amount of reviews among all the phones with touch screen on this website, because I was deciding on my next upgrade. Between the LG VU, the AT&T Quickfire, and the Samsung Eternity, I have been researching the features offered on each phone and comparing the pros and cons of each. For awhile I've read quite a bit about the LG VU and decided to go with that decision even though I've heard some horrible feedback from it (i.e - Non-responsive touchscreen, breaks easily, horrible battery life.) When the Samsung Eternity released however, I frantically started analyzing the phone from top to bottom and I finally made my decision to get it. Touch screen is very responsive; features and capability of the phone is outstanding; qwerty keyboard takes a bit of getting used to, but is extremely easy to use after calibration and texting a bit with it. Widget feature is an amazing add on. You can take the icons and move them around like your phone is a desktop. 3mp camera all together has good quality. Sound and volume quality is completely crystal clear and loud enough. One downside, but not really a con is that the hold button is on top of the phone instead of a slide unlock. All in all, Samsung did an exceptional job at creating a competition for Apple's iPhone.

I have had the Blackjack, Moto Q9h, Tilt(Kaiser), LG VU, iPhone 3g and now the Eternity in the last year. This phone beats them all hands down. The UI is incredibly fast and it plays my MP4 videos flawlessly. I could care less about Wifi. I never used it once on the Tilt and only a couple times with the iPhone because the app store forced me to. If I have WiFi access I'm going to use my laptop not my phone. There is no comparison to the iPhone when it comes to text messaging. This phone is the best texting phone I have ever used. The onscreen keyboard is as good as it gets without a physical keyboard IMO. Also, you can easily get your Outlook contacts in the phone by using the Phone Editor in PC Suite. Just import your Outlook info into Phone Editor and copy from there to the phone. The BT in the phone is mint. It even asks when you disconnect A2DP if you want to continue listening on the phone speaker or not. There are so many little touches like this that make this phone a pleasure to use.

Why no FM Radio?

Phone owned for

Lately, I have seen so many phones jamming all possible features into the phone, but taking out the simplae FM radio.  Only Son Erricson Walkman series consistently have a good FM radio.  Sad.
Also, if you buy this phone from AT&T, you are required to buy their Medianet unlimited or something like that.

NIIIICE

Design- The look of the phone is great. Screen is huge and crisp. Buttons are fine. Build quality seems great. Back design looks sort of like a camera! Back also looks like brushed aluminum although it's plastic. UI is great too. 10/10
Features- This phone is very feature rich and very good in multimedia (camera, tv, music, videos, good browser...), but what phone has absolutely everything!? Great features, but no surprise-no wifi.. 9/10
Performance- Now the touch screen on this thing is amazing. By far the best touch sensitive phone I've used! I might add that it's even up with the iPhone's touchscreen! The UI is neat with it's little widgets, and overall the screen is very, very responsive. Texting is awesome! 10/10

Awesome handstet!

Phone owned for

My sentiment is already written into the other reviews, I wanted to point out to everyone that this handset also handles PDF, XLS, and DOC files just like a smartphone and they can be opened up from the MicroSD or attachments. I thought that might be a worthwhile note to make for those looking for a smartphone grade device without having to shell out for a PDA data plan or deal with buggy WinMo. Please note, you cannot edit those file types, but in all honesty, who actually does power editing from their handset?

The Eternity AKA "Iphone Killer"

Phone owned for

This phone does not dissappoint. The features are easy to learn and use, not just another phone with a bunch of stuff you never access. the Widget bar is a superb idea also. The camera is great quality, only slow on shutter speed, but so is the Iphone. (My wife is returning her Iphone and picking one of these up.) The streaming video quality isn't the greatest, but if you want to watch TV in hi def, buy a Samsung TV, they are great too. One drawback I've seen is no speed dial, but with three touches you're looking at your favorites in the order that you want to keep them. the keypad is much better than the Iphone , you can tilt it sideways and have tons of room to type, and choose different fonts too. You can actually forward messages like a real cell phone with this one AND recieve MM messages. enough hating on Iphone, if you want a cool phone that has lots of usable features, buy this eternity!

I phone Look Out!

Phone owned for

Im never one to go and by things with out reading the reviews, my friend had an lg vu and it was nice. After reading the reviews I saw that it lacked in some areas that were important to me. I decided to by the Samsung Eternity without reading the reviews first and I must say it was the best decision ive made in a long time. The Features on the phone are amazing; the contacts section is also very nice lots of options. This phone in my options should be the phone of the year. The only thing that’s a bummer even thou it has a nice loud speaker the mp3 playback is not that loud, don’t get me wrong the speaker phone function is great clear. It’s just the mp3 playback isn’t so loud but put headphones on it and it will deafen you. GO SAMSUNG!!!!!

Sweet Phone

Phone owned for

I've only had this phone for a day and so far no complaints. I really wanted the iphone and couldn't get it because of the required data package. This phone doesn't require a data package but has a lot of the same features of the iphone. The touchscreen is amazing and i haven't had any problems with it. I really like the texting on it. Camera isn't too bad but haven't played around with it too much yet. The sound as far as ringtones and message tones along with the alarm could be a bit louder but it is doable. I do miss my speed dialing that my old phone had. As far as clarity when talking to someone else, it seems great. So i am really happy with this phone overall. I have only tried the internet once and will be using it sparingly since i didn't purchase a package for that, but it is fairly quick but i think that it is hard to navigate when on a web page. Battery seems to be good although haven't had it for a full day yet.

Simply Amazing

Phone owned for

I had looked forward to getting the HTC Fuze when I found out it was coming to AT&T. However, when I got it I was fairly disappointed in it. It was slow and very glitchy. I exchanged it for the Samsung Eternity and I'm so glad I did!! I absolutely love the Eternity. It has a great screen display, it's really easy to use, and the touch feedback is on the spot. I absolutely love the widgets. Also it illuminates at the bottom of the phone when you get a text message or call which is really cool. Overall it's a great phone and I prefer it over the HTC Fuze anyday.

True iPhone Killer?

Phone owned for

This phone is absolutely the best challenger to the iPhone. it is very responsive, bright, features trump those of the iPhone. The only negative I found was that it does not support full HTML, but the wap browser is not too bad.Features wise this phone is LOADED, and does NOT lag in speed.the touch screen is by far the most responsive and accurate touch screen. I tried my brother's iPhone and just could not get the keys right; with the Eternity it was a breeze to text, on top of all you get Video Share, and many other feature the iPhone just doesn't have.Battery life seems to be in the EXCELLENT range. The size is smaller and slimmer than the iPhone, with capacity of up to an 8GB mini SD card. This phones is SEXXXXY!!! light, compact and I believe Samsung found the answer to the iPhone in this baby....In other words this phone is " DYNNNNOOOMITE!!!!!
