worst phone alive.

Phone owned for

This phone I had received for Christmas and the problems are never ending. the speaker stopped working after 2 weeks of use. my battery completely was shot and it said it was receiving charge but was not. it freezes all the time, i have had files gone corrupt, my spacebar on the keyboard is incapable of being used becasue everytime i hit it it exits my text. this is the worst phone I have ever had in my life, and I have gone through many phones. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.

best phone ive had so far.
good features, good design, freezes up once in a while but no big deal.
for people not used to palm phones, the keyboard might be tricky at first.

Palm Pro - Step in the right direction

Phone owned for

The Palm Pro is as sleek and small as powerful windows mobile phones get.  I love the size and light weight compared to the Treo 700w I've had for 3 years.  It's about half the thickness and no external antanae.  Palm also replaced it's proprietary charging port with a micro usb port which is nice.  The connection holds good compared to the old port and it enables the phone to be charged via a USB connection to a computer or by plugging the usb in to the wall charger that comes with it.  The keyboard keys are slim and aren't as easy to type with as traditional Treos, but you can get used to it.  It also has a mini-stylus which I'm not fond of, but a minor issue compared to all the issues the 700w was having.  Lastly, as with all Windows Mobile devices, each carrier and device mfg write their own plugins and modifications to make WM "theirs".  Some of them are nice, such as the touch screen disabling while you are on a call, but others are lacking.  There are no photo contacts unless you buy a third party program.  When you type a contact's name, a screen comes up with your contact list, but it's always in black as shown in the photos on this site regardless of your theme.  So you might change your theme to the normal WM Blue or Green theme, but the customizations that Palm made still show in black making it look out of place and cheesy.  Lastly, Sprint has the Wifi / Bluetooth notification at the top of the today screen which seems like a waste or real estate to me, but you can't remove it--at least not that I've found.  Oh, and the web browser basically requires the stylus because it renders pages as you would expect on a desktop which is kinda nice--i.e. javascript rollovers work; flash works; etc, but if you just want to use the up/down arrows to scroll through mobile sites, it's not as intuitive as other browsers.
All in All... it's a vast improvement to the older WM Treos.

I am Very satisfied with my Pro I am not having nearly the amt of problems I had with my 800 there are a couple of gripes i have with the ergonomics you cant change the basic contacts and internet shortcut butns and when your in the Mesg program and try yo creat a new txt it list the types: video, picture, sms; which isnt a big deal but its highly annoying when you send far more sms so why isnt it 1st you have to scroll down everytime , when winmob phones rec txt it displays the txt at the btm of the screen which you can respond directly from that msg BUT on this phone every msg you respond to in this way is never taken off as an unread msg so lets say you have an entire convo jus replying with out actually manually opening the txt mesg program itself when your done your txt counter is going to show how ever manny txt the otha person was sending you as new unread mesgs and you have to open that one convo that many times to clear them out very annoying
