First of all, the mobile phone to beat today is not the N82 and N95, for a faster processing q N95 (tested the two side by side), also has infinitely better q N95 camera, it is no coincidence that " N82 "is the best Smartphone to buy, I am a happy owner of the N82 ... Note 10
I own my N82 for 6 months, this is the first mobile by Nokia I own which never hang... all my previous Nokia mobiles like N95, N71, N73, and N91 was suffering from Hannnnging but this one not... I highly recommend this mobile by Nokia
The bluetooth password is user determined, the sending device and the receiving device will have the same set of password. For example when you are sending a pic from n82 to laptop, both side will prompt for password, if you set 1234 as the password for your n82, laptop password will be 1234 also. if you set abc as password for the n82, laptop password will be n82 also. the password can be lettering as long as both the sending device and the receiving device are using the same paaword will do. Hope this piece of information helps.
I have a problem with my N82 set, when I sent a picture by Blue tooth it demands for password. But I didn't know the password. So, anybody tell men the solution for it. You can contact me by mail my address is nihaluae@yahoo.com and contact # +97-150-1446473
I am a happy owner of the NOKIA N82, and only one thing the sound of it is very low, no more is perfect, worth every penny that vc paid him, footnote 10 ...
I have this phone for almost 2 months and I really like it especially the camera. I don't have a problem with the phone so far. ;)
i like this phone.
but i like the n95 better.
they are exactly the same but the n95 looks cooler and i hav the n95 8gb and i think it looks better and the n95s battery isnt the best but apparently the n82 is worse. i have to charge mine every 2 days but for this phone at least every 1 day.
i think this is a good phone but it is basicly the n95 but the n95 looks better and espeacially the 8gb version. ive bought the n82 and i think its ok but my sister has the n95 8gb and it is much nicer and well built so im going to exchange it for the nicer cooler better n95 8gb. nice camera though.
My brother has this phone for more than 2 months. I have a N95 and been playing with this one a lot... The N82 is a great phone. it's very quick and not once has it freeze or restarted with me. and OH the xenon flash is just wonderful. Pictures taken in dark seems like one taken in daylight... Only thing which bothers me is the small screen compared to my N95, the sound and the keypad. Overall great phone...
Now let's talk about the silver snapper.
Here's what i like:
1. Build quality is superb.
2. I thought the silver front panel looks cheap but it's not. I even like it much than my N73ME.
3. I don't have problems with the keypad and d-pad. Now i'm done with N73's joystick that i hate most.
4. User interface is quick. I love the auto screen rotation, cool feature.
5. USB, bluetooth and internet connection is flawless.
6. Wifi connection is superb. It can detect wifi routers in an instant.
7. Xenon flash really makes a difference compared to LED flash. It captures lots of details.
8. Taking pictures is now quick from focusing to saving and previewing compared to N73.
9. Music quality improved a lot comnpared to N73 when listening to headset or separate speakers.
and here's what i hate:
1. I'm really disappointed with the display as i'm very keen to details. N73 is better. I don't know why, when in fact N82 can display up to 16.7 million colors compared to 262,144 colors of N73 with the same screen size and resolution. Anybody have an idea? You can only appreciate the details of the picture when viewing it in a slideshow. Don't dare looking at it at the preview button, you'll just be disappointed if you're used to with N73.
2. Built-in loud speakers are so weak. Again N73 is much better. But it's fine with me cause i listen to music using headset.
3. Album art is deleted from music player if you delete the source/album art picture from the gallery.
I just got one a few days ago I can honestly say it is fantastic if you want a superb camera phone, plus all the other smart phone features. i did plenty of research and I am stoked that I waited for this model before getting an e90 that I was considering.Connectibility is superb, voip works well and it has everything that is useful for business orpleasure and I think its advanced enough to lasta few years. As afar as battery goes ok if you use wlan constantly and other poer hungry apllications it will lasta day and a half and I find that acceptable for me. Hope this helps. A good all round smartphone and for many a very advanced phone that can be considered a small computer.I would take this anyday over the apple phone. Well done Nokia!
The Nokia N82 is definitely the current king of imaging in the Nseries family, and a serious match for most of the stand-alone point and shoot digital cameras on the market.
The build quality is phenomenal, and the battery life is top notch, as well. The Xenon flash on the N82 really makes a difference, and the auto-focusing Carl Zeiss lens make for some really nice pictures, even for printing, which is a feat for any cameraphone.
Based on everything that the N82 does, and does so well, I rate the Nokia N82 as "Highly Recommended."
guyz, just got my n82 the other day, i tell u, it rocks!!!i was keeping my dough for w960i to hit our shore, but since it's taking forever, i gambled on this hottie.i'm no big fan of nokia, due to its OS which almost always shows lag time(kinda annoying really) - even for ur most glorified n73 and n95-1-my wife used to have both units(she's now using k850i).im wowed by its snappy responsiveness, huge 2.4" display is so clear even under the afternoon sun, connectivity is magnificently stable - i got a wireless router sa bahay, inet browser opens in a jiffy, scrolling in pages is effortless(not to mention screen autorotate functionality),the dreaded n91ish keypad is surprisingly easy to use, mp3 in wide stereo surround 3.5mm headset, GPS maps options, quickofx viewr for my documents, dual core processor with a dedicated display rendering chip, and oh...have i mentioned the superb 5mp carl zeiss cam???pictures come out very natural and in crisp state-the best in all camphones i've seen so far-kahit sa tv out, amazing!
now-comparing it with n95 8gb,iphone,w960, and even other "advanced"units ng samsung and SE,i doubt if they can even get a decent match.and btw- dont waste ur hard earned money sa KU990-how dare them setup the mobile crowd with their disgusting marketing scam, i mean scheme, ephone lang sa mega meron units, di avail sa ibang shops, superhigh tuloy ng price-Php25k,that's about $600!enuff said-go buy your own n82 - i'd be happy to bet my balls - u will never regret it. gish-even my wife is getting jealous of this hottie-spending more time with it-hehehe.and btw- battery life-with heavy usage for two days now- games, wifi, calls, texts, downloads, after a full recharge the first time, its still got 40%.2gb mc included.love it to bits.yahooooo!!!
I have bought this phone a week ago. and I found that the display brighteness really not satisfied me. it's too dark when i be in my room. and the loudspeaker is just an average quality when compared to my N95 before. but the best things I found on this phone is the camera, it's amazing! I'am glad to say that. the camera application runs so fast when I start it. and the quality of images was impressed me. it is the best camera quality after n95. and the xenon flash are powerfull too. it's more better than SE K850 when you take a night picture. the battery life were improved, it last for a 2-3 days. this is a rebirth of nokia N95 because all the things in nokia N95 u will found on this phone except the sound quality. the keypad is litlle bit small but still comfortable when you typin a msg, it smooth and never feels worried if you accidentally pressed the wrong button because the numeric keypad placed far from each other. no comment for it. the whole of it; this is my new style, new proud and the new confident.. thanks nokia, you are the best phone maker ever, u are not just looking for display, sound or camera quality. you make your device to be the human bestfriends. thanks again..
Just purchased the n82 last week,i have had n95 and then n95 8gb , battery on the n95 8gb was about 4 to 5 days on gsm and is about 3 to 4 days on n82.
The only reason i changed from n95 8gb was because having no lens cover it had started to scratch, hence why i went for the n82 with the cover.
The only thing that bothered me was the battery life, but thats no probs with about 3 to 4 days with average usage, camera and flash brill,so all in all 10/10 for me.
All in all 10/10 well done nokia
Just received mine. Well, as expected, the phone does not really look expensive. Yes, for me I personally like that because I don't want to show off. The back design looks like a digital camera, impressive, however. Back battery cover seems to be like of cheap plastic, but it's ok form me.
This phone is packed full of features as N95, plus a xenon flash.
In the picture look quite small, but in hand feel quite big, but not very big depends on personal opinion. With that size, plus this phone is not a heavy phone thus feel like hollow inside, unlike N80 which feel solid. The keypad are very tiny, probably Nokia did this to compensate the big screen. Side keys are better than N95 coz it is neat and less likely to press buttons unintentionally
Hi Friends
I'm using N82 for a week now. I have changed from N95 8GB TO N82. As I've used both, i hope my comments will be usefull for you guys.
About N95 8GB
Lovely phone, all features, sliding quality and battery life are perfect. Screen size and quality - awesome. BUT, without Lens Cover, its realy scary that you tend spend more time to take care of the phone rather than using the phone - being such an expensive phone. Black casing attracts dirt very very fast, it realy pains to see your expensive phone gets dirty. Finaly I gave up and went to N82.
Now the real story begins...
Its a solid solid phone - no questions on build quality. It feels very solid in hand. All the keys are very fine to use - only things is some people will take some time to get used to it, because it's little tough. The screen size difference from N95 8GB really don't bother me until unless i compare both side by side.
I agree that there's a need for little more brightness for the screen.
All operations are just fast, all happens in seconds - no problem at all.
Xenon flash realy ROCKS. Battery life is very decent (about 1 - 1.5 days after heavy usage)
Sometimes it get hang and restarts, the camera stopped working all that - very very few times. But this stablity issue hopefully will be addressed in the firmware update.
For people who are very much converned about the money they on their phone = N82 is the ideal choice.
Hello pips! I finally got mine today! Not just so long ago I was flipping coins between the N95-2 or this baby. The reasons why I chose this other than the other are simply because of the fact that the features offered here is the same as the N95-2. (well correct me if i'm wrong). Onother fact is that this N82 has xenon flash and a camera lens cover. Not to mention the price, here in Manila the average price range difference of these phones is around 9,000 pesos, for that amount you could buy another bnew mid range phone from nokia. So for those still whining or deciding what to get between N82 or N95-8gb, my strong advice is to get this phone...you will have all the features found in the N95-8gb...plus a xenon flush...plus a camera lens cover...plus the option to get a higher capacity memory card...and for the most important plus....the extra money you save to purchase the next nokia phone in the future that will obviously top these two models!!!
Just got the phone
I had a e61i before this
I do miss my qwerty keybaord, but I must say the n82 is a good phone.
Pros:
Good screen
Best camera ever ( flash is really strong, auto focus is good and shoots well night time)
Really fast. you can see the dif with so much ram
Doesn't crash
Nice features
Nice rotating feature of the screen
nice stereo speakers
Free 2gb
Nice multimedia function
Cons:
Rotation screen doesn't work that well ( see some videos on youtube, you'll understand)
the direction pad makes some cheap noise
Would of prefared if the casing was in metal not in plastic
gps is not great, takes some time for the satelatie to detect you
would of prefered a brigther screen
This is a good phone. It's my first candy bar phone and I like it. Keypad is nice, juste have to get use to it ( i did have a qwerty on my last phone)
The voice is clean and the speaker is of good quality. Reception is always the best ( nokia !!)
I don't use the phone for music ( use my iPod), so can't say anything there)
I have had 4 phones in the past year ( samsung e900, rokr e6, nokia e61 and nokia n82)
I have to tell you, no one offers better phones then nokia. I hate UI of SE, so never bougth any ( but I did play around with p1 and it sucks)
If you want to have the best performance in a phone and plan on using it buy it
If you want to replace your normal point and shoot camera, this phone has lots to offer
I won't say it's an eye catching phone ( except for maybe the silver look), but still it's a really good phone.
To the person who said that N82 mp3 player is crap, sorry I truly do not share your opinion. The mp3 player that comes with N82 is comparable to my iPod Touch. It has fantastic sounds and the bass sound very tight, at least with my $99 headsets. I also use Jabra stereo bluetooth headset (8010)and it sound great: clear and rich. There is nothing wrong with this phone. I will agree with some people who said that aethestically it does not look appealing, but I did not buy it for its sex appeal; I bought it for its feature sets. Yes it sometimes can hang on certain applications, but then I do not know of any phones that do not hang ever (there is no such thing as a perfect embedded control software). Software is made by humans and humans make mistakes.
On another note regarding its camera, I have to admit that it takes very good pictures if the user intends the camera function to be point-and-shoot. Its image quality is comparable to my Nikon 8700. It is not meant to compete with Nikon D70 DSLR camera. I did not try the N82 GPS functions so that will come later; however, I did not buy this phone for GPS feature (I have a stand alone that does this job very well). I really bought it for the extended features besides GPS. The phone will accept 8Gb SD cards just fine. I have zero complaints about the phone because I am realistic. There is no perfect phones in the market (I don't care who makes it) whether it is Europeans, Amercans or Asians. I bought my phone from www.mobilecityonline.com, and they are wonderful folks to deal with. I buy all my phones from them including the LG Viewty. The Viewty camera quality is not quite up to par with the N82. The Viewty mp3 player is no where as loud as the N82 and it has no sound adjustments.
I got my n82 yesterday, and although i have seen many criticisms about the keypad, i find they r all false.
The buttons are small, but spaced,I find texting to be easier on my n82 than my previous n73me. Like all phones, it just takes a couple of days to get used to the keypad. The camera is amazing, The best i have ever seen, better than n95. I took 2 pics in a room last nite, One with the light on and one with the light off, The xenon flash is so good i honestly couldnt tell the difference between both pics.
Very good phone.
the nokia n82 is a very powerful phone i just got one the other day its not the usual slow nokia menu load and camera the new symbian system does wonders for it and the camera i can rank as the best on the camera phone markeet it beats the s/ericsson k850 and nokia n95 the only place it lacks is the optical zoom which it doesnt have compared to the samsung g800 the features are immense and the new ngage gaming experiance takes the cake it takes the graphics to a new level connectivity is great bluetooth, wifi but no irda port but it supports hsdpa and also sdhc so you can put memory cards upto 8 gigabytes depending on what the market has on offer the nokia maps has had an update although i would recommend you buy a gps software like route 66 mobile 7 nokia maps isnt to accurate and it comes with a trial voice version. the media controls are fantastic with slideshows and the 3D gallery is an impressive piece of tech .
I find myself so confused by the continuing and constant comparisons made between the N82 and the k850i. As I had mentioned, I bought both on the same day (the k850 for my sister, and the N82 for myself). I have used both EXTENSIVELY, which is why I do not understand how anyone can compare them.
The k850 is a great phone, and looks quite nice (although really seems to target a much younger demographic by its looks/functions), and really takes some pretty nice 'point and shoot' quality pictures.
But honestly, after using both for about a month, there IS no comparison to be made. The N82 is simply so much more phone than the k850. Any of you who own either the N82, or really any other N-series phone (esp. the N95-3 or N95 8GB) know that they are some of the most full-featured, wonderfully designed, best working mobiles on the market.
I'm sorry but when I use the k850, I keep asking myself, "Is this ALL you can do?" Like I said, its a GREAT looking mobile, and has some pretty cool features, but they are very gimmicky for the most part, and the phone just deserves no direct comparison to the N-Series, and certainly not the N82.
With all this said, I am a big Sony fan, not just of SE mobiles, but of all Sony products. But recently, Sony's sales have been falling in many sectors, and there is a good reason: they are simply charging too much for product which have already been surpassed by others.
For Sony, and Sony-Ericsson's sake, I hope they do better next time. But for now, keep the comparisons out of this N82 page, because there truly is no comparison to make.
I sold my w950i for this phone 3 days ago, and I am stunt by the quality of the phone. From the moment i first boot it up, i know that this is something special, unlike any other phone i've ever used. The battery is satisfying, the music is good, motion sensor is quick, wi-fi is top notch, video and photo viewing is a pleasure, and above all the speed of the phone and camera start up is lightning speed, the pictures are the best i've seen from a phone, the Xennon flash much better than expected, actually if you compare it to the n95, n82 wins by a mile. All in all, i just want to say well done to nokia, for making this monster mobile, and it makes me forget how good my w950i and other cyber shot phones were. So if anyone hestitate about buying this phone, i say just go ahead and buy it, its the best on the market to date.
I have 8Gb memory in phone. All the good things said about OS speed, camera, flash, and operating reliability are true. Battery life is not a problem. My additions: GPS is FAST to lock and installed program for routing has great database available for free. The installed programs make great use of the phones abilities: Video recorder, podcasting, radio, internet radio, and WiFi. This is a computer. I did not give it tens in all categories, but I believe this is the best phone out right now.
