This is my upgrade from the Moto E (2020). This phone got a lot of initially poor reviews due to the $500 MSRP, but you can find it perpetually on sale for $300 or less ($240 now!) for the 8/256 version on Amazon, and it comes with an included 256GB MicroSD card to sweeten the deal.
Motorola really is the best budget brand in the USA. Few phones come close to it. For the same money, Samsung would happily offer you the A23 5G, which is worse, especially with internal storage. I hate running out of internal storage because that means you have to start deleting apps, but as everything bloats up the apps you delete slowly become more and more essential until you're left with an unusable phone. This phone not only has 256GB internal storage (while others offer 128GB or *gasp* 64GB), but it also has a MicroSDXC slot! This is becoming rare for the price point. This phone also has a headphone jack, another relative rarity.
So why did I buy this phone in particular? It's the best deal for what I want: Large internal storage, a reliable experience overall, headphone jack and MicroSD slot, decent performance, and good battery life. Other phones compromise on multiple of these things, trading them for OS updates (ha, Android 14 is gonna restrict sideloading of older apps), cameras, or moar performance. In particular, the Pixel 6a has only 128GB internal storage, no MicroSD slot, no headphone jack, a bad fingerprint sensor, a bad modem for phone calls, and bad battery life, despite having much better cameras and a much better SoC and software support.
Lastly, don't buy this phone for the stylus! It works, but it's not good for drawing as the latency is much too high. Instead, buy this phone because it's a good phone for the price. Oh, and please delete any bloat ware this phone comes with (it is possible to delete it all).
A New Generation for the Moto G Stylus Smartphone... But a Step Back? With worse Specs and less features then the previous Stylus. Only really improvement is it's 90Hz 6.8 display but with Terrible Glare and dark screen is probably a phone to avoid
