Currently $108 (new, no contract) - best value on VZ

Phone owned for less than 3 months

Strong build quality, however it looks and feels a bit cheap.
Camera is more than adequat for social media... Single LED flash/flashlight is much brighter than expected.
Lags a bit, but not too serious.
I never get a full day of battery.
IPhone 5 is more comfortable to use and handle with one hand.
Screen looks very good.

Impressed with the Droid Mini

Phone owned for less than a month

Perhaps the Mini can't be classified as a great phone, but it's certainly a perfectly good phone. Call quality is far superior to my very old & tired Droid 4 - which lasted me nearly 5 years. The Mini shares many of the same hardware specs as its larger siblings, the Droid Ultra and the Droid Maxx - only at smaller dimensions. This appealed to me, as I personally have no interest in carrying a pocket tablet. Battery life has been a point of contention in numerous reviews, but I'm a light user (facebook, weather apps, occasional internet searches, a few pics here & there) so the 2,000 mAh battery is more than sufficient to get me through the day. The 10 megapixel camera is good, but there aren't many options in the stock software. There are plenty of apps out there to resolve that problem. All in all, I'm very happy with my Motorola Droid Mini.

Great phone!

Phone owned for more than a year

This phone has been pretty rock solid. The only issue I have is that whenever I try to initiate a phone call while using bluetooth in the car, the person on the other end can't hear me. This hasn't been resolved yet although I haven't tried wiping my phone. Still love it though!

Motorola Droid Mini - loving it

Phone owned for less than a year

This is an on-contract replacement for Motorola Droid Razr. I have had good experiences with Motorola phones, so I stuck with them. I see the trend to larger and larger devices and didn't really see the point. I want a phone for calls, text, email, and quick scan of anything else. This device delivers. The only missing feature is add-on storage (SD card). I was aware of this when I bought it and take care to offload and delete things regularly, so 16GB is fine.

mini goodness

Phone owned for less than 3 months

this my secondary phone that I use for work . I went through 2 android phone disappointments before this phone . At last , I'm quite satisfied with this one , mainly cause of android 4.4 kitkat . it's awesome , clean & fast . I'm not loving the camera & picture qualities . I totally hate the fact that I had to put a case on it because of the plain slippery body , besides that I think it's an awesome phone .

One hell of a Mini

Phone owned for less than a month

I have had this phone since October 17 and all that I can say is WOW.

THE DISPLAY:

I was worried about the display being an IPS TFT panel coming from an AMOLED on the Razr M and after using it those worries have vanished. Though the screen is 720p and it does take from the battery life but the loss is negligible between the Mini and The Razr M. The screen its self is bright, brilliant and looks beautiful. With the active notification because it is an IPS TFT and not an AMOLED when you get a notification the whole panel comes unlike the AMOLED screens of the bigger Droids.

THE CONTEXTUAL AND SPEECH RECOGNITION CORES:

The always on always listening Google now is great (as no other phone has it) and does not ruin the battery life. All I have to do is say a command like “OK Google now tell me the forecast for (location)” and there it is and Google now even reads it off. It is also very useful for finding my phone, all I have to say is “OK Google now find my phone” and my phone will ring until I find it and hit the button on the screen.

THE BATTERY:

The battery is what you would expect from a 2000mAh jucer. It is enough to get you through the day with moderate use but you'll still have to charge it at night. While I don't mind that it has an inductive charging coil for wireless charging, I don't much care for it. Instead of a charging coil I would have liked to have seen a bigger battery (that's just my opinion though).

THE SOFTWARE:

Holy crap! Motorola must have optimized the living dog poo out of it. It is great but I do have some gripes about it. First off what is up with the 5 screens it comes with. You cant add more or delete any of them. Second I miss the swipe left quick settings that the RAZR M had. Third is all of the bloat ware (but what android phone on VZW doesn't have it) that Verizon has stuffed in to it. There are some other odds and ends that I don't like about the software but it runs great with the least amount of lag that I have seen on a phone yet. Even though this phone is on android 4.2 right now it has already been announced that it will skip 4.3 and head for 4.4 Kitkat chocolatey goodness.

THE CONCLUSION:

Don’t let any of the naysayers sway you from this phone by saying that it has last years specs because what you will find is a buttery smooth experience and for the price ($49.99 with a new 2 year contract or 399.99 outright at the time of writing this) you will not find anything else that matches or comes close to the Droid Mini's user experience at this price point.
