I was Surface Duo user for 1 full year and 1 month as my only device. The camera and the gyroscope flip flop screen switch was the most annoying. I of course after using it for a year learned how to properly use the device and did not use it in a way that exposed its flaws. A good basketball analogy would be like sending Shaq O'Neil to the free throw line and saying he cant compete at the NBA level when we all know how dominate of a player he was. So the Surface Duo 2 has improved on the overall experience and no longer has a bad camera. Using in phone mode with the camera bump still feels comfortable. You can finally take a good picture. The gyroscope flip flop is gone. The speakers sound much better and fuller because they are stereo. User Interface looks nicer on the Duo 2 which is a personal opinion. Best Buy $700 trade in value made the price easier to buy and you can pay over two years no interest . The device feels better in the hands the hinge moves smoother. Other added benefit which I have not setup yet is NFC payment option. You no longer need to carry around a secondary device if you were that person which I wasn't, rather I suffered for the whole year happily of course because it got the looks of being different from every other device out there. This phone is for 95% of people out there, a only device, and without needing another device to fulfill a featured Surface Duo device lackluster.
I've waited through the Duo nightmare waiting for Duo 2. Upon key good initial reviews, I bought it and am amazed. This thing is a productivity monster. The ability to have 2 apps running at once is key for me. Yeah, I hear that the Fold 3 can do 2 apps at once but walk through the process to do that and it takes too much time. Open this baby up and you're cranking two apps. Many, many people don't get the Duo concept. It's a multi tasking device first that has also morphed into a great phone as well. I've been running my Duo 2 for a little less than a week. No crashes, no bugs, no halting...Microsoft fixed all the bugs. If you've been interested in Duo and what it can bring you, it's time to pull the trigger as it doesn't disappoint. Oh, one more thing...the camera bump is a total non-issue.
