Love this phone, best Christmas gift ever

Phone owned for

I got my phone for Christmas and it is the best phone I owned so far, i owned 4 different phones before i had my Xenon and none of them compare to this one. The LG xenon is great for texting. I can text much faster than before because of the QWERTY keyboard. I heard people have had problems with these phones but I havent had any problems with this phone so far. This phone is surprisingly lightweight as i thought it would have been much heavier because of its size. The display is crystal clear. I compared the signal strength to my old phone and the Xenon's appeared stronger in many areas. The speed of 3G is almost as fast as my broadband connection so AT&T is correct about having the nation's fastest 3G network.

I like my LG xenon. I had this phone since July and it has worked better than any other phone i owned previously. Overall i like the design of this phone, its not too bulky and doesnt have an extending antenna. Everything in the menu is easy to find. The call quality is good, i dont hear any static when im talking to the other person. However i do wish they had a better battery available because the battery life seems quite short.

Great Phone

Phone owned for

This phone is the best I've used for texting -- The QWERTY keyboard makes it so easy to text. I like the 3G speeds too... my old phone didnt have 3G. The phone isnt too big nor too small, it fits just right in my pocket and its weight is light. It dont feel like carrying a rock like i experienced with my previous phones. I would say this is one of the better phones i purchased so far.

Phone owned for

The features on this phone makes it a good phone. I only experienced a problem once with this phone (it shut off on its own one day) but haven't had any problems with it since then. I enjoy the smooth navigation through the menus, everything is organized and easy to find.LG continues to make good phones... Keep up the good work LG :)

BAD PHONE!

Phone owned for

Hey if you are planning to purchase this phone, I'd think twice. Thw LG Xenon seem AWESOME the first month but then it freezes and is constantly pausing. It runs out of battery very quick and I've replaced my battery twice. It is hard to turn on and you have to keep pushing the "turn on" button. It is slow and takes forever to load. It has slow internet and gets scracthed very easily. If you do decide to get this phone get it in blue. The red is so annoying. The phone will get stressed and randomly turn off. It had terrible graphics. BAD PHONE I HATE IT!

Looked for a long time before deciding ...BIG MISTAKE!

Phone owned for

I was resisting buying a new phone...didn't want a larger phone than the KRZR I was using.  I looked at alot of phones before deciding on this one.   I am currently on my third Xenon...AT&T has been good about working with me but I'm done with this phone.  Not a good signal, shuts off, won't receive calls...even when the person is standing next to me, randomly decides 'cannot send message to so and so' and pretty much just not a dependable phone.  I picked the Xenon because overall is wasn't huge...it had the QWERTY keyboard which is nice for texting,..and I did like the features.  But it just isn't worth the hassles.  I was told that after the third phone ... if I was still having problems ... I would be getting a different phone.  Hopefully I get to pick it out myself ... back to searching.  I have only had this phone since the first of May 2009 and it has been nothing but trouble.  Maybe it's just me...but I have never had so much trouble with a cell phone, and I have had one since back when we had the 'bag phones'!

Looks good but isn't

Phone owned for

This phone looks good for about a week, but picks up scratches on the screen like crazy. Freezes 5-10 times a day and needs to be restarted by pulling the battery out. Average features for a phone. Not a great buy, I  wouldn't sugest this or any other LG side slider phones because they all have similar freezing/ shutting off problems.

DO NOT BUY

Phone owned for

To all fellow AT&T buyers,Do not buy this cell phone, I am currently on my fourth LG Xenon due to technical failures on the past 3. I was finally relieved by AT&T by being able to order a different model and make. The touch screen on this phone is unresponsive and laggy. It freezes or turns off randomly about 3-4 times a day. This past May i decided to finally upgrade my phone from a simple flip phone to the LG Xenon. After paying 100$ I assumed I would be satisfied with my product, but soon after about a month it began acting up. I do however commend AT&T on their customer service and willingness to send me replacement phones free of charge. I was able to receive a choice of phone and chose the Motorola Karma. I have no complaints so far. Happy Buying!

Not a bad choice

Phone owned for

I've had the Xenon going on 3 months now and have not had any trouble. I paid right at $100 for it. My previous phone was a Motorola Razor and the Xenon is SO MUCH BETTER. But as they say, you get what you pay for.
The Xeono is definetly not the best phone in the world. The apps can be slow and there isn't  a lot of the out there. The touch  screen can be slow in regards to response. I don't like the Media Net browser but it does work, just takes some getting use to. Email and IM's seem to work great and sending pictures to another phone or email works with a few extra key strokes. I have big fingers so the keyboard is small for me, but I wanted a small phone I could carry easily in my pocket. Ringer volume is low, I finally download a free ringtone that sounds like an old fashioned telephone, now I can hear it.
All in alll it's a good phone for the  money, but it's NOT an iPhone. A friend just got the new iPhone 3gs and I really like it. But it's also $200 MORE than what I paid for the Xenon. I'm happy with my phone but like most things in life, there  is room for improvement.
Batery life about 1 week with no usage. 3 to 4 days using phone  a few minutes a day. Not sure exact lengh of talk time, I don't make a lot of long calls. Battery life could be better.
So  far I have not had  the issue  of phone shutting off when I close slideout keyboard and I have not had it freeze up. I play with it more than I make calls.

Xenon is sexy as hell, but thats about it

Phone owned for

I loved my xenon the day i got it, it was my first slide out qwerty keypad, and I was loving it. It supported a wide array of games, and I loved playing them. The touch screen is pretty responsive, except when you run to many apps at once. I liked the fact that you could run several apps at a time, but again, it started to lag. The contacts feature where you move the pics around is cool, but it made the phone go slow, and I just used my contact book. The battery was also not that great, had to charge it every two days. Basically, this phone is cool, sexy , and stylish, but again, that's about it.
I recommend this phone for teenyboppers who like texting and IMing, or those who like wowing people with phones, so basically the young or the young hearted.

already commented... change my mind

Phone owned for

I already commented on this phone when I first got it, and I am changing my mind a bit.  When you slide out the keypad it shuts off, the GPS freezes, when you use at&t's online store to buy ringtones ect or opera mini (which you dont need on this phone).. the phone will not go into landscape view and the onscreen navigation could be better.  You constantly have to make sure u slide the keypad back in inch by inch and place the phone very carefully down on a surface otherwise it will shut off.   The sound quality on the speaker is bad - its very low and grainy.
Although it has a few pros- to me its not worth the aggrivation.

Battery life is fine for me, I have a habit of charging my phone every night anyway. Sound is great, very functional. The only probalem I have is the occasional cut off from closing the keyboard too hard, but its not too bad. In my opinion thi sis a great phone, works great, looks awesome.

Freezing

Phone owned for

I have had this phone for 3 weeks, and I have had to replace it within the first week.  I am off now to AGAIN return it.  When you slide it to be able to use the deyboard, the screen does not turn, so now you cannot use the QWERTY keyboard.    (I may as well have kept my Razr-- I had no problems after nearly 3 years with that one.)    Also the battery isn't nearly what it was supposed to be.  I am charging this phone every day & 1/2 or so.   I will be returning this one for a completly different phone now.     The problem is that I actually liked that the keyboard was one of the bigger ones, and the touch screen worked great too.  Other then the freezing, it was a good phone, just not great if you text alot--which I do.

I liked the phone, I was trying not to be an i phone victim, I have the touch...the phone goes dead if the slide out key board is closed to quickly, the loudest ring is only minimum, the browers is hardly worth using, the phones battery life is non exisitant, the reception is horible as well as service availability...OVERALL pretty phone not functional for its purpose..you can have mine. will gladly trade!!! HATE IT!!!AND i paid full price, it's a reason they are giving them away now...hmmmm

I have only had this phone for a few days, and so far no problems.  I like the qwerty, and the on screen keypad is very easy to use.  The only things I do not like about it is, i wish it was a little bigger, and  it does not have any other emails besides AOL, YAHOO, HOTMAIL, you cant add your own.  Overall it is a great phone

Liked the phone, but not for me

Phone owned for

For months I was researching phones and ended up buying the LG Xenon a few days after its release.  For a resistive screen the phone was pretty responsive.  I enjoyed the 3G and internet browsing, and most of the other aspects.  What made me end up returning the phone was the qwerty.  The qwerty was a little hard to type on because my thumbs would hit the bottom of the screen, but what was most irritating was the lack of a shift key.  When typing I could only use caps lock and function lock, making it painfully monotonous to use when capitalizing one letter or using a symbol such as a colon.  A few other minor complaints i had was that the phone was too quiet when ringing on the loudest setting, message memory was "150" (i believe), and of course the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack. If someone is looking for a good messaging phone i would reccommend the Palm Centro over this (espessially because of battery life, but it does lack a good browser and 3G).  I think i'll stick with my curve for a while longer.
Hope this helps
FYI: That is not an emoticon button on the left side of the qwerty, but a shortcut to IM clients.

I like it.

Phone owned for

This phone is super easy to use.   I got it when it came out and I didn't have any trouble setting it up.   It doesn't freeze up like some of the newer phones, and has crystal clear sound.   In my own opinion I think it's better than the Samsung Impression.
