Fantastic as a stock phone can get.

Phone owned for less than a month

After this phone I am totally sold on large phones. My only issues are more with verizon than the phone itself. Absolutely in love with this phone.
Had a massive spill already, and the only damage was a small black notch in the back cover.

Built like a tank. Great phone

Phone owned for less than a month

I love my new V10. I am coming from a Note 3 and I really like this phone. Awesome screen, fast, great camera, good fingerprint scanner. It's built so solid. A little bit of weight but in a good way. The one thing that isn't good is the inconsistent battery. Some days I go to bed with 35-40% battery life other days I have to charge it as soon as I get home from work. Seems like the days are nearly the same usage and yet the battery life doesn't reflect that. Other than that, a great phone.

I swore I'd never Buy another LG phone, but I was wrong.

Phone owned for less than a month

Like the title says, after having the LG Vu back in 2009 (the turd that phone was); I swore I would NEVER buy LG again. To this day, that is the worst phone I have owned.

This phone really wasn't on my radar before I bought it. I saw the preview for it here on Phone Arena, and thought the 2nd screen would be a gimmick. I had every intention of buying the new Moto X on Black Friday/Cyber Monday so I was waiting for that deal.

However, there was an ad here on PA for the extra battery, and 200gb memory card. That's a great deal, so I went to T-Mobile to check the phone out. As soon as I picked it up I thought; "Yup, this is my phone". I have not been disappointed. The phone was $599.99, but with $250.00 worth of freebies I still find that to be a great deal. The fact that T-Mobile did a 3 day sale on it for $100 off (which they refunded since I bought it the day before), I paid $499.99 for this phone. I think that is an awesome value! The memory card is a $200 value. The 64gig version of the Moto X with the wood back I wanted is $524.99. It does not come with the memory card, and can't replace batteries on that. Also, Moto charges $35 for the rapid charger, which LG includes in the box. Now let's get to the phone itself.

I tried to fill out the review with each rating so you could bullet point it, but here is an overview:

I REALLY like this phone. I thought the 2nd screen would be a gimmick when I first saw the previews, but after one day of using it as music controls I was proved wrong. For example, I can play Candy Crush on full screen, and still control Pandora, or any other music from the mini-screen without having to leave the game. Also, if I get a message while playing a game, the majority of the message scrolls across the screen and I can tap it to open the message if I want. I do not use it too often for the app tray, but I have used it for that as well. I don't know exactly what else I would want to use it for, but I hope LG thinks of more things and does a software update so I can do even more with it.

I like that for the menu buttons at the bottom, I can add other options besides home, back, and windows. And, that I can organize them any way that I want. That's cool.

Also great, for one handed mode, swipe from left to right, or right to left along those same menu buttons. Great for people with smaller hands.

The camera is great. My girlfriend has the iPhone 6s Plus, and she likes for me to send her the pics I take, even if we are both taking pics at the same time.

I like the placement of the fingerprint scanner. When I use the iPhones, I pick up the phone with one hand, and then scan with the other. With this phone, I can pick it up one handed and my finger naturally rest on the scanner on the back. One handed operation is great.

I'm out of space, so in conclusion: This phone rocks! I like it better than the Galaxy S6 Edge, or Note 5.

LG V10 on Verizon

Phone owned for less than a month

I first tried the note 5, since I have owned every note from 2-4. I wasn't impressed with it's reception, battery life or build. The fact that the battery was non-removable and the memory was not expandable was too much for me to overcome. I have previously owned the LG G3 but ditched it when the note 4 came out. With that being said, I have been using this phone for almost 2 weeks now and can honestly say it's a keeper. For all the reasons listed below and more, this phone, in my opinion, is a better buy over the note 5. Not just because of the battery and memory but because of all the customizable features this phone has. LG listens to what comsumers want and they want to be able to swap batteries and plug in SD cards. Anyone who thinks that doesn't matter has obviously never been struck somewhere plugged into a wall socket or had to delete files in order to make room for something else. Point is, this phone covers all the bases and still give us that want it the freedom to customize the user experience, stay powered up and download whatever we want. While no device is perfect no matter how hard any manufacturer tries, LG seems to have the pulse of consumers and listens rather then dictates.
NOTE: I have received my extra battery, cradle charger and 200 gb micro SD card. In a word, PERFECTION!

LG V10 : Beast of a SmartPhone!!! You'll Want One:-)

Phone owned for less than a month

I’ve had this awesome phone for two weeks now. I’ve been looking forward to its release here in Manila sometime December . So I decided to try out an s6 edge plus to replace my month old note 5 (it was rebooting everytime I answered phone calls). As I was checking out the S6 edge Plus my friend pointed to white boxes with V10 emblazoned on the covers, they were just shipped in from Hongkong. BAM! I was over the moon with excitement. The cash price for the 64g LG V10 was the same as the 32g S6 edge Plus. This was going to be the Dual Sim Phone replacement for the classy MatE 7 and Galaxy Alpha I was using as daily drivers.
CamerA is just freakintastic! – I took night time shots with my Note 5, LG V10, Huawei G8 and Sony C5 Ultra – Note 5 and V10 were equally impressive, but then I played with the Manual Settings on the V10 adjusted the shutterspeed and IS0 settings - MaGiC!
I haven’t bought any protective cases (still not available here) and the temporary screen protector is all I have – and I’m not apprehensive that I’ll ruin this durable stainless steel reinforced phone. HiFi DAC? Couldn’t care less – but when I plugged in the AKG tuned bundled Quadbeats to listen to radio- yes FM radio! Rich sounds and full bass response for FM radio Music .
Battery life is more than adequate for me – I charge the V10 every other day via quick charger. It still can’t touch my Mate 7’s 4000mah battery , though.
The second screen is not just a gimmick….if I want to check time – I don’t need to turn on the whole screen. I can answer phone calls just by swiping from the second screen and I can also listen to music and open frequently used apps.
It’s a big phone but I had a Mate 7 as a daily driver – so no complaints here. And by the way I’m only 5’5”
It’s classy looking with the gold durasteel frame and silicone cover without being too pretentiously fragile. I probably am aware of luxurious and classy feel and looks since I’m involved in designing modern luxury and classic finishes as a profession. And the Note 5 and V10 are both up there in the looks and feel - in design excellence.

if you're reading this, it's not too late

Phone owned for less than a month

I've had every phone across the spectrum, tried just about everything. And was finally due for an upgrade with VZN, go into the store to settle for an iphone 6s 64gb. Cause paying for the 6 plus was outrages. The lady brings up the LG v10, and it has been in my scope of phones that I was looking at and then she brings up the promotion with the 200 gb sd card and extra spare battery. I was hooked. For less money I got a 4k screen, 20mp camera, 264gb of space, fingerprint scanner, spare battery, option of switching out battery and i wouldn't trade it for the world. The only negative is the battery, it doesn't last as long as i would like it too. BUT you can take that puppy out and sticka a new one. What i love is having the option, within iphones and new androids theres not any options to put a new battery or more space they force you to get the better generation. LG wants you to have a great phone for a long time, and then come get another one instead of HAVING to upgrade every year. I strongly recommend this phone, and I NEVER write reviews. I'm very adament and passionate of getting the word of this phone out. I promise you won't be disappointed. and the finger print Id is amazing. Works flawlessly. I have too many good things to say about his phone, take this chance I promise you won't be disappointed.

The best phone i have used until now.

Phone owned for less than a month

I have used this phone for 2 weeks now. No joke but this is the best phone i have used until now. Of course only time will tell how its gonna perform later on. But for sure i can say that this phone is not gonna go down easily. I have already dropped this phone a couple of times on the concrete floor but nope not a bit of damage. The screen is a bit too bright, but again that could be a good thing too.

I have everything that i need on this phone, amazing camera, perfectly built, 64 GB built in with SD card? Heck Yeah!! and not to forget the removable battery, i carry a spare battery everyday though i don't really need it coz it has a good battery life as well. I feel bad for the reviewer, Seriously i mean WTF??

You can't rate such a good phone so pathetically!
Please do a re review about this phone and show the truth instead of supporting the Sammy's!

Kudos to LG! I just hope i get the Marshmallow sooner rather than later. :D

Lg V10 is amazing!

Phone owned for less than a month

Whoever did the review on this phone should not be reviewing phones... This is by far one of the best phones on the market if not the best. I really don't understand how this phone is rated a 7 by PA. The battery life on this phone is good, the internal storage and sd card slot are amazing. The camera is immaculate, it is near shatterproof and EXTREMELY well built. To say the note 5 is a more premium looking phone is an absolute joke unless you love looking at fingerprints. By far my favorite phone I have EVER owned and I have sold Cell Phones for Verizon and Tmobile for over 6 1/2 years. Do not listen to this poor score of a 7, I am laughing right now because that is completely disgraceful since this is one of the best built phones on the market and once you put your hands on it you feel quality. I would recommend this phone to anyone who wants top notch and a premium feel in a product. I am seriously blown away at this review and am honestly starting to think that this website is become completely bias towards Samsung and Apple. In my opinion this should be the phone of the year, and by the way that would be 2 years in a row LG won that. Come on phone arena! Look at the consumers reviews and fix this poorly done review and rating...

Phone owned for less than a month

This phone is brilliant, Lg deserves a win for this piece of tech.. The screen is unlike anything seen, LG has successfully pushed the strength of technology with the release of this gadget..The display is brilliant, the not so powerful chipset leaves more to be desired as in 4years from now it wont be so powerful to keep up with most heavy games...LG had enough time to optimize the snapdragon 810 heating problems, its a shame they use the same 808 chipset for their this years Hero device, the 32-Bit DAC is a huge plus for audiophiles like me, the device comes with almost no disadvantages compared to samsung's offerings and thats a plus for me.

LG V10 is a great phone

Phone owned for less than a month

The LG V10 is a great phone. When it comes to durability, memory and battery life it's the best phone on the planet. I made the mistake of getting a Note 5 because of the screen but was shocked when I filled the memory on the phone in 4 hours. I need a phone like the V10 for storage. As far as the battery goes I've seen and used all of the power saving modes on other phones but they don't cut it. With the V10 you can just pop in another battery so you don't have to live on low power mode just to get by. The feel of the phone is great. I love being able to use a phone with out a case and the V10 is one of the few phones that you can do that with. The grip is great. I didn't like the grip on the Note 5 and the thing was a horrible fingerprint magnet. Don't get me wrong I don't bash other phones. It's just that I saw all of the videos and read all of the reviews on the Note 5 over the V10 and it's just not true. LG has really steeped up their game when everyone else seems to be following the iphone. LG has kept the important things the make a phone special like a professional camera and memory expansion and battery life. The 2nd screen is where it should be at the top and not on the side where you grip the phone and is very useful. And, if you drop it like we all do eventually the phone can take it. How many fragile phones can really say that. Wonderful customization and features. LG V10 is a great phone.

Lots of nice features, screen is a bit too bright.

Phone owned for less than a month

Have only had this phone for a short time but it has been a great upgrade from the G3. I am on T-Mobile so my variant is slightly different especially with the unlocked bootloader. I should have root access within a week as TWRP has already been installed by a couple users.

The use so far has been very good and colors are very lifelike with a crisp display. The extra display is very nice for switching apps while you are up and running. Maybe you want to check email while sending a text. The app is already in the top so just tap once and your switched. It's like a second shortcut bar that follows you everywhere. I turned off the "recently used" part of the apps as I really just want a particular set of apps there for quick access while I may be in another app.

Being able to see the time without bringing the main screen on is great. I do not wear a watch and use my phone to keep track of time, so to be able to just pull out the phone and say "Hey it's three o'clock" is great. This will actually be a battery saver even if it is on all the time. Same with notifications, ever check your phone after being in a slightly noisy environment where you could not hear your text tone or ringtone. How about at the movies where the phone is silent but you don't want to turn the whole screen on. This will be perfect for those times as well as just general checks of things without unlocking or turning the main screen on.

The camera has taken great pictures so far, and the display is great. Colors are very lifelike and crisp. I have a HDR picture I took a couple years ago that has a wide range of colors and some phones have a problem displaying the changes so you get distinguishable bands of colors. This one does not have the banding and just looks great.

The one problem that I have come across so far is the screen brightness needs a tuning feature for auto brightness. Setting it manually will not work well unless you are going to make changes all the time and plan in advance. I was indoors and the screen was too bright so I turned it way down manually. Step outside and can't see the screen at all. I would love to see a tuning feature built in to the UI so that you can select an auto brightness level set, maybe you want it to stay a little on the dim side or need a little more light. I ended up installing Velis Auto Brightness and even the normal TFT setting was much better than the stock one. I manually adjusted the curve in the app to be a little lower at the lowest setting and the exponential curve to be a little flatter.

Text input has been better than on the G3 even though it only added a little bit to the main screen height the spacing is better and easier to use.

The sound is great for one speaker. It's on the bottom rather than the back so when watching a movie it's much easier and more comfortable to cup your hand to direct the sound. There also seems to be a resonance chamber built in to make the tone better.
