Ive used this phone now for 10 months.. and I am so looking forward to being able to get a different phone!!!! I WILL DEMOLISH this phone when my contract is up, a million pieces i tell you.... Okay lets see... Where shall we start... 1) Do NOT use the "Back space" on the keyboard. It will 90% of the time delete the entire message. I am not referring to holding it down either I mean press it like a button once, and POOF everything GONE!... 2) Keyboard Locks up and you cannot type a message at all, Have to turn the phone off and then turn it back on. 3) Major issue with "Failed to send" Text, its a daily issue, with this I will also receive multiple "Duplicate" text. This issue seems to be limited to "reply" texting... 4) Phone will randomly power off, during a text, during a text, while in your pocket, Don't matter where, it just will.... 5) Phone fails to show a voice mail icon, but will ring until you retrieve the message. 6) Randomly keyboard will slow while trying to text <example: W wait E wait L wait L wait = 1 minute to spell "well"> To fix this issue.. power off and power on again... 7) The WORST ISSUE! The phone will not get messages!!! Multiple times a day you will not get a message then all the sudden you will get 10 messages and all have "stored at" at the bottom ranging from 2 to 5 hours ago!!!! Before someone tries to argue that its my provider, I did NOT have ANY of these issues with my Motorola Razor! Only after I switched to this piece of JUNK!!!!
Please heed the words of warning.... I HATE THIS PHONE!!!!!!
This is a great phone! I love it! The only issue I"ve ever had with it is sometimes the keypad tends to fall a little behind and then all I have to do is hard reset the device (simply pulling the battery out while the phone is on). It takes a quick 30 seconds usually in the morning and the device works perfect the rest of the day. I run through a local carrier and have never had any problems with this phone. Maybe all of you people out there that are saying this phone is terrible and are advising people to never buy it need to look at the bigger picture... maybe it is your carrier... or maybe you just have crappy luck... there are always software updates available OTA almost monthly which keeps the device up to speed. They usually only take about 2 minutes. Most of the issues with any phone are usually OPERATOR ERROR. I guess that's what tech. support is for.
I have had this phone for 10 months, and it has been a pain in the butt. It shuts off all the time, drops calls, screen goes black, gets all scratchy, quits working, and not worth the money. I suggest anything but this phone. It breaks to easy, I have gone through 4 of these stupid things.
This phone is the biggest annoyance of my daily life. It constantly shuts itself off and the keyboard RARELY works. This is the THIRD phone I have gotten and i just called Alltel today to get a new one again because they just send you a refurbished phone which is just as big of a piece of shit as the first new one i bought originally. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. It is TERRIBLE. Save your money for a blackberry!!!
this phone is amazing. i havent had any problems with it. if you treat it with tlc like i did, it will work phenominal like mine does. the screen is tight, buttons work fine, if you dont beat on it, i will work just fine.
this phone was pretty good and lasted me for about 6 months max and then it wouldnt charge. it blacks out constantly and little white boxes appear on my text messages. i have replaced it twice already. this slide-out keyboard is loose and doesnt work very well. the keys are hard to press now and texts hardly ever send due to glitches. i definitely would not buy another one. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
a lot of people posting reviews for the rumor seem to have had difficulty with it, and im sure people now will go more for the rumor2 but i'll add my two cents anyway. =] i got my rumor on april 7, 2008. so i've had it for almost a year now. and i absolutley love it! the only problems i have with it is when it automatically connects itself to the internet, and it's slow going through pictures. the camera is shit in the dark, but in the right lighting it's marvelous. i seldom use my keyboard, so i haven't experienced any trouble with the cable thing. i've been checking into the rumor2 to see how it compares.. that's how amazing lg rumors are. =D
Save your money this phone freezes turns off scratchs when you pt it in your pocket keys fall off its rubbish save your money and get G1 Iphone or LG prada!
Save your money and wait for the Rumor 2 to hit stores. According to LG they fixed the ribbon cable problem, but I am not to sure about the software issues. When it comes to this phone it is the biggest piece of crap that Sprint has to offer. If you phone starts having white, reverse or crazy images on the screen then take it into your local Sprint store that offers service and repair. The ribbon cable is the most common problem with this phone. Don't slide the phone open or closed unless you are going to use the inside keypad. Some people get a nervous tick and slide it open and closed. This wears out the ribbon cable in just a short period of time. Then you hae to visit Sprint service and repair to get it replaced. Also make sure your software ends in 09. If it ends in 06 then update your phone or take it in to have it done. Be careful how much pressure you put on the outside screen because it can crack pretty easy with just a little pressure. Buy a good case for it. The charging port is also a weak spot on this phone. Take care not to shove the charger in to hard because you will break the charging port on this phone. And always have insurance on the phone, because you will have to get it replaced at least a few times during your 2 yr agreement. I recommend either the Samsung Rant or the LG Lotus. Yes I said the Lotus. It is an LG product but I have not seen very many problems with the phone since it has come onto the market. Plus it is a flip phone so you have less chance of wearing out a ribbon cable. Coming to a conclusion, just don't buy the phone. It is cheap with a full keyboard but get the insurance you will need it. The seven dollars a month Sprint charges to warranty this piece of crap is well worth the investment.
I have had this phone for 7 months and I am surprised it has lasted ths long. It is cracked open nearly all the way. It freezes up and turns itself off while I am texting. It has been an okay phone, but I do not recommend it to anyone wanting to upgrade. I never use the keyboard because it does not keep up with what I am typing. Although, the numeric keypad works great.
I dont recommend this phone. Ive had mine less than a year and its already crappen out. The screen blinks and it won't charge anymore. The celltop reboots its self like once a day, its stupid. Ill be typing a text on the keyboard then look at it, and about half of what i typed isnt there..the keyboard SUCKS! Also my sister has the same phone, and they gave her a new one in the mail, and it wouldnt activate when she called..I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PHONE..cheap peice of junk
i loved this phone... until it started spazzin out on me. i could stand the keyboard lag and it occasionally turning off...but when the screen got a ziggy (yes thats a technical term) i cant stand it. i cant see whos calling me. i cant see any of my contact info. i can barely read txts. its ridiculous. unless you are going to be ridiculously careful, dont get the phone.
I currently have the White version of this phone from Virgin Mobile. Me, my boyfriend, my bestfriend, my cousin, my sister, my professer, my boss, and several people from school are all proud owners of this phone. The keyboard works excellent. Although the camera quality is not great, it really isn't noticeable by someone who is not a frequent picture taker. It is the best phone I have ever had. It has never frozen, lagged, white out, shut off, cut off calls, and the keyboard ALWAYS works. Myself, and the roughly twenty people I know that have this phone love it and I have never heard a complaint. I've dropped this phone about twice now from high distances and there isn't a single mark on the phone. Take good care of your phone, and it will work fine.
this phone was great at first
then it started having delays while texting and it would randomly turn itself off
now the screen suddenly went completely white while i was texting :(
this fone sucks
OK; ive only had this phone for about a week & i love it! this phone is the bomb like tick tick; this phone is perfect for adults to kids. in fact my grandmom just got one & she loves it to...this phone is the shit!
I'm on my 4th ux260. My current working model is a refurb I was given in a trade for my brand new phones by US Cellular and it actually works, but the keyboard is worn out. The previous 3 I had would constantly restart, make data calls on their own, keyboard would freeze, and when I'd make calls, the recieving person couldn't hear me, I couldn't hear them, yet the calls were connected. The phone would have to be powered off to correct the problem temporarly.
Now that I have a refurb that actually works, I am happy with it, but I did have to go through 3 of them. I wish it took better pictures and the camera has about a 3 sec delay.
this is not a good phone at all i went through so many of them and my service company will not stand behind me. they keep giving me this piece of shit and it doesnt work! i keep having the same problems with the keyboard not working at all!! its just a horrible phone that needs to be pulled off the shelves and alltel needs to pull their heads outta their ass and get me a new phone!!
not a good phone at all!!! i went through 6 in a month due to the fact that the keyboard freezes on me all the time. my suggestion buy any phone besides this one!!
I bought the Scoop from an Alltel Store in October 08 and loved it for the first 30 days. Then I had problems with the CellTop rebooting and the keyboard wouldn't function properly. The next problem would be that I would dial out, and the phone would show connected, but I couldn't hear anything, and neither could the person that I called. Yes, the call went through and would show up on their caller ID. This is not a coverage issue because it would happen in different areas at different times.
I went to an Alltel store and tey had me do the exchange by mail. I got my "refurbished" phone a couple days later and tried to activate it. Guess what, it wouldn't activate. I called Alltel Tech Support and they had me do a couple of things and it still wouldn't work. So they had to send me out another "refurbished" phone. I received that one a couple of days later and it activated ok, but the CellTop didn't work right and I had another call that went through but people couldn't hear me and I couldn't hear them. I tried to shut the phone off and turn it back on, but the Alltel screen stayed on for about 5 minutes before it would shut off. I called Alltel Tech Support and now I am currently waiting for phone number 4.
This phone is a hunk of junk and is more problems than it's worth. Do not buy!
I own an LG Rumor (Virgin Mobile).Internal memory is full. However, I can't delete any files from the phone, as it reports there is not any, anywhere. I noticed this started happening after a few months of owning an LG Rumor. I've discovered how it happens : If you set a video, or picture as screensaver ; each time you set a new one, the old one does not delete itself. Instead, it stays inside a hidden folder which is inaccessible from the phone. Now, my LG Rumor is at 2kb/16384kb. Because of this, I can no longer recieve text messages or use the integrated browser. The error message is as follows :"Memory full. Delete some files from in Phone or My Content."There is nothing there. Lmao .. excellent piece of software for this thing. Great job virgin.Any suggestions or help is appreciated.http://www.lg-rumor.com/index.php?topic=108.0
This is my third post on this site and I am coming back to give a status update on my 3 RUMOR LX260 from Sprint. After my first phones (4 of them) all failed, mostly related to the white/garbled screen, I was given replacements. I have not had a single problem with any of them. Me and my kids use these phones heavily and no issues whatsoever have occured with the phones! I am pleased. The Sprint customer service rep. that exchanged the phones for me indicated that recently manufactured phones, Fall 08 and on, have had all the bugs worked out of them. At first I was skeptical, now I believe. I am happy to have my RUMOR functioning as intended, and I foresee no problem with keeping this phone until I am next eligible for upgrades. Thank you LG for getting it right!!!
I have never had a problem with the phone its great...its just like any other over time it may break down. i have not noticed any slow texting.
I had this phone for a little over a year. within 12 months, i'd gotten FOUR of these phones & gone to the repair store at least 8 times, probably more than i don't remember. I had 3 black ones, then a green one. the style is great, it's not too thick or thin & the keyboard is AMAZING! i text like a maniac (around 12,000 a month) & this was perfect, i was done with a paragraph in about 20 seconds. but that basically the ONLY good thing about it! it's so slow & has to catch up with you; if you get on the internet it doesn't take forever but it's not that responsive.. i leave my phones in my back pocket a LOT, or i used to, & at least a few times a week i'd randomly call someone or i'd take it out of my purse & i would have a hundred random numbers dialed, or even on the internet. you have to hold the "back" key to lock it/hold it, but it gets unlocked way too easily. it says this phone is meant for hardcore texting, but dang, my phone broke TWICE b/c i slid the keyboard too much. yes, that hurts it. before i switched to verizon, it did that for a second time. & it's bad too, your entire screen switches itself around, blinks, turns white, looks like static on the tv when there's a storm, etc. but this time it was so bad i couldn't even transfer my numbers from it to my new verizon phone.
it's just not a reliable phone but GREAT while it lasts!!
OK, so I've only had the phone about a month, but so far so good. I left a Motorolla Rocker which I loved for size, weight, camera (2MB), but the key pad sucked for me, especially w/the only protective cover I could find (which was styling) and the top three keys PLUS all the keys/letters tough to see and too close together for me as well.
Which finally brings me to the LG UX260, which I lovingly call, "The Brick". Compared to the razor - very heavy. Camera only 1.3 MB, but QWERTY keypad rocks, using same S9 wireless headset for tunes that I did on the Rocker, so that is cool as well. Only complaint is size and weight, other than that (and still have to find how to reprogram the "my menu" keypad), phone rocks, I think it is brilliant.
I got this phone because I like to text. I noticed about the second day that I had it that it had some serious lagging issues that made it almost impossible to text. I'd type a letter and MAYBE 2 seconds later it would show up. I'd have a paragraph typed, then tap the backspace key, and it would erase my whole message. I tried having the thing rebooted by US Cellular, but it still had the same problems. What's worse, if you store any MP3's on the phone, the lag gets worse. So yeah, Serious Lag Issues duuuuude!
