There were 3 of these phones that we had and all of them died. One died to a broken screen, one died to a software failure, and the last one had battery issues till it died from a broken touch screen. One of the worst phones we've had.
I've purchased this phone in a pinch. No time to review specs, I needed a phone. I would NOT recommend this junk to anyone. The camera is the worst I've ever seen! Worse then my tablet! I'm surprised that this phone was released 2015..the battery and camera and crap AND no screenshot capabilities. Lame phone.
I had this phone from about 2015-2017 to replace an aging LG Optimus L90. The Leon's design and specs are loosely based off the original G Stylo's (which in itself is a budget phone that shouldn't be bothered with in 2017) so if you know somebody with one, the Leon will look similar. That's not important, but what is important is how bad this phone is and why nobody should buy it. First off, the specs. It only has a measly 1GB of RAM which won't get you far in multitasking, it has an aging, underpowered Snapdragon 410 chipset which runs apps slowly and choppy, and the battery life is terrible. It's only got a 1900mAh battery (1850mAh if you have an older one) which by itself doesn't sound great, but the phone really can't conserve the tiny battery well at all. For instance, if you were like me who used the phone as, well, a phone (text people, call people, play really light games like Neko Atsume, and watch youtube) you'd have to expect the phone to last 3 hours at best. The thing discharges when you don't even use it too, so that's a problem. Now onto the camera. The camera on the Leon is a joke, there's just no other way to describe it. First off, it only takes photos in 5mp which is a number you'd expect from a selfie camera, not the rear firing one, and worst of all it's fixed focus. You heard me right, no autofocus! This means that closeups will look like a blurry mess and photos are gonna be really washed out. I've seen phones from 2012 with cameras better than this. The selfie camera on the Leon shouldn't even be bothered with since it's not even a full megapixel (It's 0.3, which is 480p) so already selfies are gonna look really blurry, and the front camera has this really bad color banding problem too where you can simply just see RGB lines across the whole photo. Lastly, the screen. The screen is OK, definitely not impressive considering it's got what appears to be the lowest resolution screen still available on the market (480p!) so things may not look sharp, but at least it's bright and readable.
This phone may be an example of a complete waste of money, but does LG make bad phones? No, I've had LG phones since 2014 and they've all been pretty nice, but the Leon just quickly became crap. Nowadays, if you want a budget phone by LG, just get the LG Aristo or the LG G Stylo 3+. They aren't flagship phones, but as budget phones they do the job.
Great for surfing the web, calling and social media. It's also good for regular games (Clash Royale, Angry Birds), but doesn't run very well on heavy games like Pokemon GO. The battery was great until I installed a lot of apps. If you want to save your battery try not to use gaming apps. Camera isn't the best but the screen is amazing and the keyboard fits perfectly, great for texting. It feels great at the palm of your hand but isn't very durable. Get a case for it!
I have put this phone through its paces especially in the summer heat and it is only fair overall for its services. The phone stands up nicely to drops but does not tolerate the heat so well. It is better suited for other areas of the country.
If you're like me, you don't live on your phone. You don't play demanding games and you use it when see fit. You use a couple of apps but you don't demand a lot. Is this the phone for you? Well let's take a look
i got this phone to replace my aging samsung galaxy light. even though the leon has the same specs, other than the larger screen, its seems to function a bit faster than the light. it has a bit of a cheaper plasticky feeling but feels better in the hand than the light.
