It really impressed me.At this price,is very good.
The build quality is very good, the keyboard isn't wobbly or something like that.

BEST PHONE I'VE EVER HAD!

Phone owned for

I Absolutely Love this Phone!!!! I Love its QWERTY Keyboard.  I've had the phone for more then 6 months and I have had no problem at all with this phone. I am a  big texter and the space between the keys make it much easier to text faster.I love the facebook app!!! I really wished it had more then one theme colour.  It also has a very good battery life. Also, the Livesquare is very cute and useful. The screen fades when its in sunlight which makes it harder to use when outside. Like I said before, I love this phone :D

Very good mobile

Phone owned for

I've owned the GW520 for a few months now and I'm pretty impressed at what the phone does.

Previous to the GW520 I owned an LG Cookie, I knew that the GW520 was ostensibly the same phone but with a slide out QWERTY keyboard.

In fact the GW520 goes a little further than the Cookie because it does away with some of the completely pointless functions such as the hand writing tools etc...

The contacts list is simple and intuitive, allowing for multiple numbers, emails, descriptions and address per entry. There is a backup tool for your contacts, storing the data in .vcf format.
The calendar is sufficient for storing multiple entries per day and easy to access.
Messaging and emails are an absolute dream, when the keyboard is opened you don't even need to unlock the phone. using the message key on the keyboard takes you straight to the messaging page.
The keyboard is easy to use, my only gripe here is that it could be larger.
Some (not many) widgets can be added to the home screen. The easier way to get to the most used stuff is to edit the menu button. Mine has shortcuts to emails, alarm, calendar, memo, etc...
I have three email accounts set up on the phone, the mobile checks the servers every 30 mins.
The push email is pointless, it is a Java application that needs to run in the background. If you switch off the phone then you need to remember to reactivate it... It also does not allow access to the email addresses in the contacts. THE PHONES OWN EMAIL IS VERY GOOD INDEED, DON'T BOTHER WITH THE PUSH EMAIL
The camera's OK, it takes good enough images to send via MMS.
The Facebook application is OK and it does have a widget for the front page
The Livesquare is completely pointless and very annoying when the front page turns by mistake.
The options to personalize your mobile are great indeed.
I don't use the multi media functions on my phone but my kids think it's pretty good....
Browser is pretty awful, but I run opera on it and it's passable

Couple of comments worth considering;

UPDATE THE FIRMWARE the first thing I did after buying the mobile (T-Mobile PAYG, I have a T-Mobile contract) is update the software to the latest open firmware.
My Mobile has NEVER frozen, blue screened or shut down on me once.

With more than one email account set up, the phone will only give a message received tone on the LAST account set up on the phone.

There's lots more that I can write, but I think you get the gist.
I feel that the GW520 is about as close to a smart phone you are going to get without actually being one.
And all this for a quite reasonable price.
