I Bought This Phone About 3 Years Ago, In The Second Year I Had The Phone The Front Snapped Off, So Virgin Mobile Replaced It With The Same Exact Phone. Even The New Phone Is Having Issues. & Guess WHAT, NOW IT WONT CHARGE! Definatly Buying A New Phone.
I've had this phone (from Ntelos in VA)for a year and a half, and i absolutely LOVED it. Sure, its an ugly color, but that is why you buy a skin for it. Duh. All the glitches and stuff that happen to the phone are my fault. Ive dropped it several times, so now the green talk button on the front doesnt work, and some of the keys stick. BUT ITS BECAUSE I DROPPED IT. You people must be like, seriously abusing it or something. I think it is an amazing phone. the picture quality is amazing and i actually prefer it over my 200 dollar camera. The battery life on mine is fabulous. I can text non-stop for about two days, and it still has some charge left. Unfortunately, my 4 year old cousin decided to stick something up the charging hole, and now it won't charge at all, so im getting a new phone, the motorola hint. i reeeaaalllyy recomend this phone to anyone and everyone. enjoy.(:
I recieved my Wild Card as a birthday present from my mom almost a year ago; and recently I have noticed quite a few problems that I think people looking to buy a phone should be aware of before purchasing the phone.Although I really appreciate the gift, and feel guilty for complaining about it I have to say that it really really wouldnt have been my first pick.
I have had a Wild Card for two months and found several problems.
I have the Virgin Mobile version of this phone. The keyboard is the best feature about it (though it creaks when I use the tiny keys inside); I've rendered this phone unreliable and poor quality. I have sent it back 3 times because it freezes all the time and each one I get has something else wrong with it. I was extremely disappointed when i tried to use the camera feature because not only were the pictures horrible, but the screen was so small you couldn't see them. I have had two other friends tell me that they've sent this exact phone back over and over. By the way, the pixels aren't all right either.
Conclusion:
This phone is junk
I would never get another kyocera phone even if they paid me
the back feels like cheap plastic :
Maybe I'm slightly biased because I'm coming from a Marbl, but I really like this phone so far. Sure the screen is a little small on both ends and the camera's quality isn't that great. Considering it's prepaid, though, it could be a lot worse. It has bluetooth, a full keyboard, a mobile IM client and mobile email. If you're looking for a decent prepaid phone with akeyboard, this is the best you can get.
I had an LG envy. This phone is about the same price and a lot lighter. I love it. Hate the color though. keyboard texting is great. By far the best phone kricket has to offer.
I got this phone from Target on the black friday sale for only 39.99$ it was a good deal, the only problem iv had with it is a dead pixel on the inside screen, it wont go away. but its not that big of a deal so im keeping it, takes pretty good pics for wat it is...a phone and not a digital camera like some are bitching about. the mobile messenger is great except it could have msn that would make it alot better, other than that its a great phone and next phone i would prolly get is the UT Starcom shuttle since it has an MP3 player.
I had the Kyocera Palm phone a few years back&hated it but I bought the Strobe for the QWERTY board(should've read the reviews BEFORE I bought it!)& was happy w/it(except for when it'd turn itself back on immediately after I'd turned it off!)until the pixels started messing up after a few months-just like other reviewers said!Took it back to N-Telos(VA)& they sent it out to ensure it wasn't water damaged(it hadn't been anywhere near water or even dropped!)Kyocera replaced it with the Lingo which, again,I was happy w/&liked it much better than the Strobe but now it's messing up(had it about 3 months). It's started connecting to the internet INDEPENDENTLY!I noticed the charging light flashing a few times when it wasn't plugged in&I wasn't sending/receiving&it wouldn't let me do anything.Had to cut it off completely&turn it back on to make it stop&allow me to use my phone.I just got my phonebill and the damn phone's been surfing by itself!Kyocera sucks.Period.NEVER getting another Kyocera!!!!!!
I really dislike everything about this phone. The only good thing about it is it's sound quality (that is when i can get a signal). I've used other phones on the cricket network and they're significantly better in terms of signal strength then this one, but i have never really thought that Cricket was worth while. I don't think you should buy this phone EVER. Learn from someone who's learned from his mistake and stay away from the lingo and also cricket. At least i have no contract to break with them and will be switching to Sprint.
i have the virgin mobile one.
i dont know if i am on crack but is the camera supposed to be the WORST CAMERA IN THE WORLD?
i mean, my old virgin mobile phones were better then this :/
arg. its virgin mobile. knowin' my luck the phones camera is just broken' [like they always are]
& ill have to get a new one. DJSAKDhksjadhsd.
here is a photo i took, with the best resolution & stuff that i could set.

anyways, if this is how the camera on the phone is supposed to be then i hate it & i hope all these phones magically explode.
true told if it was not for the bugs in the firmware and crickets customer service would have been 8 all around but its not worth paying more then 160 after tax! i am so over shitting phones and customer service with sprint, helio, and cricket!
i think this phone is great
I have the kyocera one and it's nothing special. The screen is a little on the small side making pictures a pixelated disaster.I agree about deleting texts. Not to mention it can't hold all that many to begin with. But the one thing that really drives me crazy is that it freezes on me all the time. I mean all the damn time. I'm constantly having to take out the battery and start it back up. It's like a commodore 64 or or something. When it dies I'm simply going to move on. No love lost.
i have the virgin mobile version. i like it and everything but a i have a few complaints:
qwerty key board has reallly small buttons for texting... i ALWAYS press the wrong buttons on mistake. i cant record videos; i can only take pictures. i already got one and the camera broke 2hrs after i bought it and so i exchanged it. now my new one's IM isnt working.
this is the new generation phone...giving advantage to new generation people addicted to messaging...saving time in message typing...very compact...the improvement needs is the display size..if it is more wide more attraction will get....Black color is good looking in this model
my main concern is the text messaging. i have the cricket version and randomly everyday the texts just stop sending. i get all kinds of error codes or the texts take upto an hour to get to the recipients. the cricket reps. say its the software on the phone. the techs. at the store say nothing is wrong. i had the audiovox 8900 for years with cricket before this phone and never had a texting problem ever. so im thinking it is the phone.......but since its been 30+ days and the cricket insurance plan doesnt seem worth it, i'm stuck with a piece of garbage.
good design, ok features, terrible software..........thumbs down
I love my new phone. I just am having the same problems as listed above. The vibrate comes on like every 5 min if i put it on vibrate mode so i think I have a call or a text when i really dont. I noticed the signal is not as good as my last Cricket phone (Moto SLVR) Its light weight, and the keyboard is AWESOME. I hate the ringtones and tryed to send one to my phone from my friends. it will save the sound but I cant apply it as a ringtone. I could on my old phone. other than that the pic sending is the same. it doesnt cover the entire screen and looks kinda crappy. I also tryed to send a screensaver and it wont let you apply as a screensaver. ONLY CALLER ID OR WALLPAPER and then the wallpaper doesnt move. I enjoy the text and the look of the phone and im a big texter so i noticed the battery life is very slim. other than that its a good phone to have if you text as much as i do.
sorry I think its an OK phone. my girlfriend got it for my for xmas and i was happy when i opened the box. but i have been messing with the phone and noticed that it has a lot of annoying flaws. For one the phone will vibrate every 5 min for NO reason. I have made sure that the alerts are turned off and vibrate is the only thing that is on for a INCOMING call only. 2nd thing is that you cannot delete multiple messages at once. You can either delete one at a time or ALL of them. not multiple like the Moto i had before. I mean the Texting is great and speaker phone is ok. Bluetooth drops every now and then but i guess thats normal. OH and you cannot apply ringtones that you send from another phone. another drawback i saw here. with the MOTO you can get a ringtone from a friend via text MMS and be able to save it and apply as a tone. This phone is ok and i will keep it to make my girl happy, but i would not have bout it myself.
I have the Cricket Version. It is probably the best Cricket phone for anyone, especially for text message fans though, because Cricket has unlimited texting and pic messaging with every single plan. This phone has a very nice keyboard and I recommend it. As for battery life, it is pretty good, but texting a lot is going to make the battery life seem worse than it really is. I like the color of it and the picture quality is okay. The quality is the best in the light and worst in the dark, even with the flash, but this phone is all about the texting.
