It's been a great phone. I recommend it to anone on T-Mobile!

Phone owned for less than a year

I bought this phone when I switched from sprint to T-Mobile. It has been great. It was my first Android phone (came from a blackberry) and I was completely blown away at how great the phone was. It is very well built and has held up to a lot of the abuse I have put it through.

It's not the perfect phone; it does have its' faults. It can be difficult to hear people while making phone calls. The speaker is a little weak in my opinion but you can turn on hearing aid setting which boosts the speaker volume to a more audible setting. The battery tends to drain quickly too. I usually find myself charging my phone once or twice a day (with heavy use). But I always have my charger with me or a car charger so this wasn't a big issue to me, but it could be for you if you are someone who doesn't have access to an outlet or some sort of charging station.

The Screen and Display on the Sensation are great! The phones produces really nice colors and it is nice and bright... when you are indoors. If you wander outside, the screen can be seen but it is very washed out.

I dont watch a lot of movies or stream video from my phone, but i listen to a lot of music and the music player on this phone is amazing! The EQ is fantastic and when used with a good pair of headphones really makes your music come alive and sound great.

One of my favorite features, and the biggest reason that i got it was for the phones camera. It's an 8mp continuos autofocus camera that takes (i think) GREAT pictures. Everyone in my family is amazed at just how great pictures can come out. Sometimes you have to tweak with the settings a little to get the best shot but its worth it in the end.

Overall, I would recommend this phone to my friends, family, and coworkers. Issues like short battery life can be solved by buying extended batteries like the Anker 1900mAh battery or something bigger. If you are thinking of getting this phone, DO IT! You'll be satisfied with your purchase.

Great phone!

Phone owned for less than 3 months

I like this phone so much. It is just beyond beautiful inside out. Just have it almost 3 months and no problem to date. The built in browser with flash support is smooth as a sheet of ice. I am a heavy user so I have a lot of HD games installed and played with no lags or problem at all. Now I have over 180 apps and Games installed. Highly recommended if you think One X is too dear.

Sensation(al)

Phone owned for less than a month

Had this phone for 2 weeks now , recently installed android ice cream sandwich + sense 3.6 , great phone , gorgeous screen, nice 3d effect
There is one thing that butered me, after 5 days typing and unlocking the phone became difficult, really annoying , like the screen wasn't responsive at all , luckily the problem disappeared just as fast as it arrived , everything works fine now. Love this phone

Phenominal!

Phone owned for more than a year

This isn't the best, but it comes close. The display, camera, sense experience, and tons of other things are great! Battery life could be better though. I love this phone but wouldn't hesitate to trade for a one s, one x, or gs3 if the opportunity arrose.

Not Happy with this Phone

Phone owned for less than a year

I got my Sensation in November and it was working fine, other than having to charge it sometimes twice a day. Then a week ago it seemed like it overheated and I couldn't get into my homescreen. It completely froze. I sent for a new one and only have it for a day when the same thing happened. I'm presently waiting for my third replacement to come and I'm really hoping that this one is good!

HTC Sensation sometimes sensational

Phone owned for less than a year

Great phone only thing that sucks is the battery and signal goes in and out. An touchscreen sometimes clicks nowhere near where you press. Screen and camera are beautiful and the dual flash really adds great clarity. HTC Facebook and Facebook app can make your contacts have multiple slots but luckily the link feature can sync them together even though it does it automatically randomly. They do give you the option at anytime to link contacts. The individual ringtone feature is very nice along with the block caller. Videos look great on the SLCD screen. As much as I like touch screens I do miss the optical track pad allowed for more precise navigation.

Great Phone

Phone owned for less than a year

A must have phone! But I would like to see more and more software updates to optimize speed and battery life. I am waiting restlessly for the ICS update from HTC. I hope ICS will resolve many issues including battery life optimization, camera and multimedia feature enhancements etc.

The Best Phone Ive Ever Had!

Phone owned for less than a month

Ive had MANY phones and this is by far the best one ive ever had!
Ive always recomended HTC phones to all my friends since i had the tmobile wing!
The brightness and clarity of the screen is just FANTASTIC!
I enjoy reading books on this device cause it can make ot ANY text!

My only complaint was, my friend has the exact same phone running the exact same software! (android 2.3.4) And im missing the htc application "reader" and the widget "myshelf" but i know that htc is a great developer! and it should be fixed soon!

Over all this is a great phone!

HTC Sensation: The Perfect Smartphone

Phone owned for less than a month

Just bought mine here without contract about 3 weeks ago and I must say that it is an excellent device. The phone before this was the LG GT540 because I couldn't stand Windows Mobile on my HTC Touch Diamond 2. So when I had some spare money I decided to buy this reasonably cheap smartphone for its qualities.

Android is on his best on this phone. In combination with HTC Sense 3.0 you get the best out of your phone. Also the 1.2GHz Dual Core processor and the 768mb memory makes it very fast. The screen (4.3" QHD SuperLCD) is beautiful, however the view of angle is not very good. I must say that it is useless to not buy this phone because of it's viewing angle because it only helps when you are watching with like 5 friends a movie on your phone.

Cons are battery life and camera quality. If you use the phone a whole day you have to use the charger, but when you use it now and then you can make two days of that. Still not that great, but you can buy spare batteries on eBay for about $10.

The camera quality for photo's is not that great. They are not showing real colours like they are. If you make 1080p records it drains very fast battery and it takes a lot of space so the standard 8GB SD is not big enough for long records.

If you want to buy a phone in the HIGH-END smartphone segment right now you should buy this one!

Nice phone, yet to be perfect

Phone owned for less than 3 months

HTC Sensation is a nice phone, the design of it is very presentable and its features are good and smart. The Camera quality is nice. But battery life is poor, ringing tone volume is soft, not able to do video call (unless use 3rd party software).

Better than expected, Sense UI 3.0 is awesome

Phone owned for less than a month

I previously did not like the Sense UI, and would immediately root and flash new ROMs, which causes the inevitable mess. However, with this phone, its so good I didn't need to. Sense 3.0 is simply brilliant. I dropped my iPhone 4 for this, and also owned the Evo 4G. iOS is still a little more simple, but the hardware here is superior.

not even 24 hours and i regret getting this phone

Phone owned for less than a month

Great build, feels a little slippery to the naked hand, sense 3.0 is the coolest OS to date, but not as mature yet. Lots of problems though, syncing, death grip, tmobile coverage, wifi bars drop when the top back of the phone is touched or gripped. Those are all game changers for me, plus it barely picks up my wifi thats in my room. Ive had an iPhone 4 for awhile & wanted to get rid of it several times since ATT has an act for dropped calls, problem is that i couldn't compare a phone to it, i am still on the search to find the best one to beat it. This phone falls short to what the iPhone does easily, which is disappointing.

HTC would have made HTC Sensation as sturdy as HTC Desire

Phone owned for less than a month

I had HTC Desire before and was a perfect phone the only problem was the internal memory capacity. I think as being a very heavy user and a die hard fan of Android. But, had to part with it because of having to upgrade it to the latest OS Gingerbread. So, choose HTC Sensation as it was only phone that was available with GB. I was given option of SG2 but i do not like Samsung even if they make a great phone. Anyway this is how i got my HTC Sensation. It just been two weeks that i have HTC Sensation. The phone is really good and don't have any complains with it. However, using it thoroughtly i have come to notice few isssues with the phone.

1. Sometimes, it just hangs or freezes with black blank screen and have to pull out the battery to restart it. There is no other option for it to reboot the phone.
2. When the phone restarts the icon just vanishes and shows the default Android icon. However, i have found a solution for this but this is just temporary. Hope this might get fixed on future updates.
3. Screen bleeds on some widgets for example; power control widget, calendar widget, twitter widgets, etc.

Apart from the above mention problem the phone is near perfect. I wanted this phone watching the HTC presentation by product manager from HTC but it would be a shame if what he told in the presentation and the phone actually running live. Hope HTC will solve this problem in future updates. I was very much in love with my HTC Desire and was sad to part with it. If i have money

LOTS OF BLING, LOTS OF DISAPPOINTMENT

Phone owned for less than a month

PRO: Extremely customizable, very good at multi-tasking, great for web browsing, beautiful, tasteful, good connection, tons of Android apps available, fun to use.

CONS: Can barely handle 1080p w/o manually closing all programs, then rebooting to play it back. More at home with 720p. The "stereo" recording mic is a joke. Sound recording is worse than my 2008 Nokia N82. It's choppy and quiet when played back on YouTube. The speaker plays music and phone calls too quietly. HD look, LD sound. You cannot edit videos, only trim them. Androids don't have editors like iPhones or Symbian because they fragment. The software camera shutter and the constantly adjusting focus makes it impossible to take a video of yourself that is in focus. Album art uses random photos for songs. Like many Androids, the device suddenly stopped being able to upload my videos to YouTube. I must use a usb now. The headphones are made for Dumbo - too big. Battery life is abysmal.

If, like most folks, all you're going to do is shoot random vids of others, surf the net, socially network and you want a big screen, some bling and groove to tunes, Sensation is perfect. If you intend to cash in on all it has to offer & get your money's worth, you will be disappointed.

Great phone...with problems

Phone owned for less than a month

At first glance I was amazed by this phone. The visual effects, the screen size, the cpu speed all made me fall in love immediately. However, there are a few quirks and problems.
So far I have not felt any kind of a lag or problem with the CPU. Everything moves very quickly. Apps open fast, especially Maps. I was totally shocked at how quickly it loaded up and was ready to go. The few problems I have experienced with the CPU seemed more like software glitches than anything else. Every once in a while I have a difficult time uninstalling an app. When I select the app to uninstall and choose to uninstall it will just sit there. However, I have found that by getting out and going back in usually solves the problem.
The camera is nice but not as nice as I expected. The quality is decent, but you would think that a dual flash would work better than a single. So far, I don't see a difference. Getting into the camera, taking pictures and reviewing them is a smooth and seamless process though.

The battery is my biggest problem. One would expect for a battery of this phone caliber to drain quickly but this phone is pretty bad. I set it down on my desk at work and periodically unlock the screen to check a couple of things but nothing more. By the time I'm back for lunch the batter is almost 3/4 depleted and I have to put it back on the charger. Another major problem with the battery is the heat it produces. If you mess around with the phone for longer the battery gets very hot.

it's just awesome....!!

Phone owned for less than a month

i own this phone last week. and i m just loving it.. this phone has one of the brilliant built quality that i hv ever seen in any phone before. the tilted front glass panel from edges is just wat only htc can do. it has one of the finest and sharpest 8 mp camera. pictures are so clear and fine on it's qhd screen with 544x960 resolution. the phone is super fast.
The connectivity option in the phone is just fabulous. sound quality with srs it's pretty good,, but i xpected a little bit more. and the one and only drawback of the phone is batttery life which will give u around 5-5.5 hrs....otherwise i give this phone 10/10
