HTC One M8 Screams Quality !

Phone owned for less than 3 months

At first I was skeptical as to how HTC was going to improve M7, the best smartphone of 2013. This year I think it is safe to say they did it again !

The M8 has 20% more metal than the M7 and this gives the M8 such a remarkable premium feel to hold with its aircraft grade aluminum. The wrap around edges shows that the metal casing has been designed to perfection, to make the device fit the palm of your hand. This device has beautiful rounded corners that is not just incredible to look at, yet this gives the device much better stress concentration on impact. This is why M8 prevails on drop tests. Engineering wise this takes detailed manufacturing processes yet HTC crafted a masterpiece.

I'm sure you get the idea on how well build the M8 is. I will talk about how optimized Sense 6 is, this is currently the best UI out there! No wonder that a lot of people seem to prefer Sense 6 over Vanilla Android on Nexus or GPE devices. Everything is smooth, sleek, elegant, basically extremely fast and simple and does not consume much battery life. Kudos to HTC for that. I love all the color combinations and the themes, the colors blend in perfectly and nice to look at. I, every now and then, swipe to the right to open blinkfeed, and just scroll continuously, which is great and timekiller, plus the addition of offline reading capabilities is well appreciated.

Although some would want higher MP, the 4 MP Up on the M8 is great for me as I don't really crop images or zoom in on pictures a lot. Overall I am very satisfied with the performance of the main camera. Color reproduction is good and manual shot capability is very nice. Dual LED flash works very well. Plus depth sensor capabilities is still being developed, so expect a lot from Duo Camera in the future ! At current stage only, uFocus works well and Dimension Plus (3D effect) works excellent.

When you rotate the phone and talk about the front facing camera, It is another league compared to other flagship devices. The 5 MP wide angle shooter is definitely one of the best if not the best front facing cameras out there. I find myself taking selfies and even wefies more than ever.

The screen size is perfect IMO. I am not a fan of thin bezels and I think bezels on the M8 are of perfect size. Plus the beautiful S-LCD 3 screen is submerged between the BoomSound speakers, which is definitely the best speakers on any smartphone at the moment. I don't mind it taking more space as long as the SQ is amazing.

I will now talk about the battery life. It may not be of the biggest capacity but it has incredible battery life. With low to mid usage I usually end up with 50% after a day of use, I could easily get to 2 days. That's how optimized Sense is.

I have used lots of phones and I will have to put M8 on the very top of my list. This device screams quality. The premium feel and quality of M8 stands alone. Simply the best smartphone ever!

Owners Pride, Neighbors Envy!

Phone owned for less than 3 months

Early 2014, HTC won the most pretigious and coveted award in the Mobile industry. The award was " GSMA device of the year 2013" . For those who know, GSMA is the world Mobile operators association. In 2013, HTC One won the best smartphones awards in numerous categories. After having set the benchmark so high, I was wondering what will HTC do in 2014 to raise the bar. The answer was there on March 25th 2014 - The HTC One M8.

One look at this sheer beauty and the first word to erupt from your mouth shall undoubtedly be " WOW" .

HTC took the bar it set with HTC One to a whole new level in 2014. HTC One M8 surpassed its predecessor in every angle, every aspect.

After having used the HTC One M8 for month, here are what I feel about it:

Design: HTC took the One and bettered it. From 70% metal to 90% metal. The phone has brushed metallic finish which complements its size. These brushed design are smoother. The sides are gripper. The phone has 5" qHD display unlike the 4.5" of HTC One. The display is crisp and brilliant.

Sound: No second doubts about the Boomsound speakers. They are "THE MOST LOUDEST" mobile speaker setup right now. No unwanted noises in the speaker. Pure music experience.

Battery: 2600mAh battery is the powerhouse of this cell. They are highly effective. They are optimised for high performance. A full charge for me lasts upto 12-14 hrs with a good usage of 3g and calls. The cell supports quick charge. upto 70% of battery charges in first 1 hour. One of the best features of this phone.

Camera: People need to look beyond the Megapixel myth. Ultrapixel have a high performance. The pictures are crisp, clear and bright. The nighphotography on this mobile is a sheer pleasure. The dual tone flash helps to get a better pictures dudring night shooting. The various camera adjustments lets you explore and adjust the ISO, Exposure, Temp, Saturation according to you.Either choise the Manul mode or Auto mode. I feel like a DSLR in my hand. There is so much you can do with the camera. The U focus is a charm of a feature. The cell takes 0.3seconds to lock focus on a subject. The front camera is a 5MP wide angle and serves as perfect selfie camera.

UI: Sense 6 or Sixth sense is a butter smooth UI. It adds to the Android experience. So much customization is now possible. Blinkfeed serves as the daily news app for me, the color or the sms, juke box, music player, fonts etc. now change according to my mood. It comes with a new power seting called "Extreme Power Mode". Its a life saver at times of low battery.

Everything is customizable on the phone now after Sense 6.

The cell brings in a new range of flip covers called DOT VIEW those are simply awesome.

I am very happy with my mobile. Thank you HTC for making an awesome device like HTC ONE M8.

I would rate it a PERFECT 10.

Best Smartphone I Have Owned So Far.

Phone owned for less than 3 months

I have had the HTC One M8 for over a month now and I feel this is the most premium device I have ever owned. “Smooth” is the way to best describe the design aspects of this device. It is stylishly wrapped in a brushed aluminum body that seamlessly curves up to the sides of the device. There is not a sharp edge on this beauty. It is a true pleasure to hold. The “smooth” theming doesn’t stop at it’s appearance either. When I use my device I feel that it is almost aware of the tasks I am thinking about completing. The response time in interacting with the screen is compared to nothing else I have used, and there is not an app out there that has managed to slow down or hinder my experience. It is obvious that HTC has packed the HTC One M8 with tons of power from its very fast processor to its booming stereo speakers. This device has it all. Speaking of the speakers, HTC has officially made it so I cannot buy a new smartphone unless there is the front facing speakers on it. I like to watch videos on my device and the speakers truly complete my entertainment needs giving me wonderfully clean sound quality. One thing that many ask me about is the camera. Just raising the device to snap a picture sparks interest due to the twin cameras. HTC has pulled another fun feature out of their bag of innovations with this new camera set up. It gives you the option to refocus the image after you have taken it without having to first select a special mode. There are also many other creative filters and edits you can do in the stock gallery app. Another cool thing is that HTC now updates their apps through the Play Store so you don’t have to wait for the carriers to approve an OTA before getting the new features. My only gripe would be that the camera is 4MP. That being said, the camera is no slouch. I have received many compliments on my photos I have made with the HTC One M8 and have had One of them become a “Best of the Week” submission on a popular photo website. If you are not looking to print large posters then the camera will a wonderful experience. Needless to say I am very happy with this device. It will be interesting to see how HTC plans on outdoing this device. I definitely recommend it.

This is the most AMAZING phone ever built!!!

Phone owned for less than a month

The phone feels very good to handle. The brush metal finish also gives it a very premium look. The reception is very clear and people have complimented me that my voice sounds good and clear over calls.

Even though M8 has a the large 5 inches screen it can be easily handled with one had. There is no lag when using apps and also high graphic games. The phone has the best speakers which are loud and clear. Very amazing sound quality with a equally complimenting screen takes multimedia to a whole new level. I love watching movies and playing games on my M8.

Well the camera is great and lowlight photos come out very good to. The photo quality match any entry level DSLRs.

One of the best thing that I like is the Blinkfeed and now this can be customised to my liking.

The battery is great even with many voice calls and lot of gaming the phone lasts me an entire day. With the extreme power saving mode, 5% battery can easily last over 10 hours. This means no tension at the end of the day with regards to battery.

I just can't stop flaunting my HTC One M8 and I love using it.

HTC improved the nearly perfect M7

Phone owned for less than 3 months

I am really surprised with this device. Used an M7 before and I thought it was a good phone, but all improvements done by HTC on the M8 makes it a better phone in every single way. Has an awesome performance, good battery life and the Duo Camera has a lot of possibilities. People always ask me about it and wants this feature. Also is a great phone for gaming not only for the font facing speakers, you can play for a long time without phone heating! I've been playing 1 hour to Real Racing 3 and the phone only drained 25% battery and with no heat at all. I really recommend it to everyone!

Inspiring Envy

Phone owned for less than 3 months

It has Duo Camera feature that lets me adjust the bokeh on my pictures. It is a nice feature and certainly has a lot of creative potential, but it still has room for improvements.

HTC has made improvements over the M7's BoomSound, making it crisper and louder in the M8. And not just about loudness, the speakers screams quality, too. It has controlled bass and nice highs that doesn't sound too overpowering nor crackling.

The UI is an improvement; flatter menu icons, some navigational redesigns, all in all makes the experience very enjoyable and simple.
Motion Launch is a very welcome addition to the software. After just a few days of use, I am so used to it, I thought the M7 could do that as well when I picked it up.

I get almost 20 hours of battery life with moderate to heavy usage, which includes always-on WiFi, 4 hrs of FLAC music playing through the BoomSound stereo speakers, some 2048 games, an hour or so browsing, and checking Social Media every now and then. 18% left at 1 am in the morning, just before I went to bed. I only managed to get about 12 hours in the M7 with that kind of usage. I have not yet tested the Extreme Battery Saver mode.

I don't know what to say for the build and finish of this phone. It is simply gorgeous and well-built. I love touching the cold metal body in the morning. One gripe about it is that, the LED is not as nicely hidden as the M7, as some light is bleeding out from the speaker grills. But, that said, the LED seems brighter than the one in the M7.

The Best got Better!

Phone owned for less than 3 months

Coming from the HTC One (M7) I had my doubts as to whether the HTC One M8 would be improved enough to make me want to upgrade so quickly. I was perfectly content with the quality and features of the M7. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that HTC has made a phone that actually made me want to put my HTC One (M7) in a drawer.
Now I own the HTC One M8, and it is hard to imagine what could make me want to put it down!
The battery is drastically improved over last year's model. I got a strong 11 hours of hard use yesterday, and it still had 30% when I put in on charge before bed. Today, after 4 hours I have used a meager 10%.
This year, HTC has seamlessly wrapped the metal all the way around to the glass. This gives a continuity and smoothness that makes the phone easy to hold. The design of the phone, with the softer curves adds an illusion that the phone is slimmer that last year, but it is exactly the same thickness.
I love the improvements to Blinkfeed and Sense 6.0 overall. HTC has added personalization options that I have been envious of in other manufacturers phones. HTC has brought back Themes, and I love this also. They have enhanced every part of the UI, and have made it a much faster and smoother experience. On the AT&T version, they even took AT&T's visual voicemail app, and integrated it into Sense, so that there is continuity even there! And, the app works better now than it did without the HTC improvements to it!

I am still getting used to the gestures, but they are quickly becoming very natural.

Now- for the camera. I have already spotted reviews stating that HTC should have increased the pixels etc. Totally ignoring the fact that they have added an entire second camera! Many fell that 4up are not enough. Initially, I thought more ultrapixels would make the camera perfect also. But HTC added the second camera, and suddenly those 4up seem like 10. The improved advanced software that supports the camera is also excellent. I have played with the 3D effect and was blown away. I took a picture from about 20 feet away, and then snapped it again zoomed in all the way, and the result was a very crisp, detailed, unsaturated photo. Before making a determination as to whether the camera is good enough fro your purposes, make sure to try it for yourself. The technology in the camera of this phone is unmatched in the industry today, and is not fairly compared to what people are used to being subjected to. Yes 21mp sounds better, but until you experience the quality first

Craftsmanship at it's best

Phone owned for less than 3 months

Craftsmanship at it's best

Once I unboxed the One M8 ... I was amazed by the elegant design and the superior construction of the device.
I've the gunmetal grey color...The backside brushed metal is gorgeous! It's eye catchy to all my family and friends.

Software & UI:
Sense 6 is an ok upgrade for the earlier Sense.
Icons became more flatter "trend for all vendors now"
It's easily customizable, snappy fast ... and isn't RAM hungry as my previous Note 3.
Blinkfeed became my primary news source... I update it through WiFi in the morning... and read the news offline throughout the day "using offline reading feature".
Sense 6 added the ability to change system fonts... but actually I prefer the default font.
The phone gets a bit warm upon using intensive apps and 3D games for a long time.
I love Wallpapers of the homescreen... nicely done.
There are some features like "raising phone to ear to auto answer calls"... it's a fancy feature that I use always.

Sound quality:
The front facing speakers are the finest quality speakers I experienced on any smartphone.
Guess what... they are even better without the beats audio integration... noticably louder than the One M7 and the Note 3.
It's not only about louder sounds ... but the quality is really superior.

Battery Life:
Battery life is very important for me.... I work in a 12-hours shifts schedule... with no nearby power outlets.
I'm always 3G connected to update my e-mail, check facebook & twitter, whatsapp texting etc.
When I was using the One M7 I had to rationalize my usage... turn off mobile data sometimes... lower brightness.
But using the new One M8 ... I don't even think about turning of my 3G data.... thanks to the new Snapdragon 801 SoC.
Watching a 2 hour movie, drains only 24% of the battery which is excellent.

Even when the battery reaches the red zone... I activate the extreme power saving mode... till I get home.
On that mode... 10% of juice is sufficient to keep the M8 alive for 1 day.

Camera:
I'm not a professional photographer,
I love the HDR shots I took using the M8.
The front facing shooter is perfect.... It's a selfie machine!.... It's the highest quality front facing camera I've ever experienced.
(Comarping to Samsung S3, Note 3, HTC One M7 and iPhone 4s)
I was amazed by the low light shooting capabilities .... the device doesn't even need the flash to fire in low light.... and the results are always good!
Panorama shots are fascinating and easy to shoot.
Minimum focusing distance for marco shots isn't so good.
Portraits are very good... portraits I shoot resemble shots from professional cameras.

U Focus "bokeh effect" results are sometimes fascinating and sometimes unnatural.

My previous smartphones:
HTC Sensation XL, Samsung Galaxy S3, iPhone 4S, HTC One M7, Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

The perfect ONE! in & out

Phone owned for less than 3 months

One of the things I most like about the HTC One M8 is the design and the quality of the materials used in their manufacture. It's a smartphone very easy to use (intuitive), with a dual camera that allows people take photos and videos with high quality (ultrapíxeles), with a battery saver mode that actually allows you to enjoy the max the smartphone, with two front speakers that make you get the sound directly while watching a movie or just listening to music at loud volume (and what a high volume!).

The 5 megapixel of the front camera with wide angle is great for selfies!. I got surprised about how fast is the camera shooting and how quickly you can edit a photo (convert your photo to 3D one "Dimension plus", give different focusement to the picture elements "UFocus", change the background "foregrounder" ...) in a few seconds you can give to your shots an artisitc touch and share them.

The accessory that I recommend for this phone is the Dot View Case, a case for the phone that is truly amazing, you can see if you have notifications only tapping twice on the front side of the case or talk with someone without opening the lid. Another useful options are the gestures ("Motion Launch") that allow you to turn on the screen only with 2 touches with your finger on the screen, or access directly to the last news (Blinkfeed) by sliding your finger on the screen off to the side, or directly access to the camera's phone putting the phone horizontally and pressing the volume button (which can also serve as a shutter button of the camera).

The truth is that it seemed difficult to improve the HTC One (M7) but HTC has done it! I love it!

The HTC One M8 defines premium phones

Phone owned for less than 3 months

I have thoroughly enjoyed my M8. It has been an absolute pleasure to use. The build quality is unparalleled from the responsive screen to the 90% aluminum unibody.
The camera has produced great results and edits are extremely easy. Friends and family have been blown away with my pictures and I am far from a professional photographer. I've been able to capture memorable family moments and great landscapes as well. Even the manual settings are user friendly. I rarely ever venture into that part of any camera for fear that nothing good would come of it.
I can't get enough of the BoomSound front facing speakers. The Harmon Kardon is even a little more crisp than the standard M8, but both have excellent sound. The speakers make music sound great, but they really shine when watching a movie or YouTube clip where dialogue comes across almost like surround sound.
The battery life has been the best I've ever had with Sprint. Therefore I don't want to discount the device because others are getting much better results than I. I'm still getting somewhere between 12 to 15 hours on average between charges.
This is an excellent device that screams premium flagship. I've seen two friends switch from iPhones to the M8 with no regrets. I've seen three switch from the S3 to the M8 without looking back. More recently even a Sony customer has come over to the M8 at work.
All in all I don't think you can do better than upgrade to the HTC One M8.

Amazing Craftmanship

Phone owned for less than a month

The HTC One M8 is the most stunning device i ever hold in my hand, the full Metal body makes him fantastic to hold, a rush of feelings cross our head when holding it.
And it proves that HTC is listening to their customer's, that is always improving and innovating and taking the Smartphone world to the next level.
Amazing 5 inch screen, enviable resolution, vivid images and fluid. Sound from the stereo speakers enhanced by BoomSound, leaving a crystal clear and fantastic sound, leaving no one indifferent. This is a truly multimedia device, where everything comes to life with the dazzling colours.
Photos are clearer and sharper with the Double Ultrapixel camera, and i can play the Seasons feature and Ufocus to foreground the background.
The new Sense 6 just bring more colour and customization to the HTC One M8, the new interface of the Blinkfeed makes more easy to find the news that cares more to us.
Extreme Powersave Mode makes the battery last almost forever and is a great aid for when we are running out of battery, making possible to get to a wall plug.
In sumon tis is the most outstanding device in the world, from the best brand of the world.

. A must have gadget

Phone owned for less than 3 months

Owning a HTC One M7, I used to wonder, how could any upcoming handset be better looking than this beauty. Then came the HTC One M8 with a phenomenally beautiful design. Upgrading from 70% metal on HTC One M7 to 90% metal phone M8 feels like a big move. Contrary to what people say, M8 doesn’t at all look like last year’s model.

Though the phone is 5” big, its so easy to hold and use. The phone looks and feels very sleek in hands. Its something that I would never want to keep it down. My M8 is Gunmetal Grey with hairline brush finish. Metal of the M8 covers all the way to the front edges making the phone look total stunner. Build quality of the phone is outstanding. HTC One M8 has an IPX3 rating which means that M8 can survive accidental spills of water giving a peace of mind.

The display of HTC One M8 is simply stunning. M8 is powered by Qualcomm S801 SOC clocked at 2.5 Ghz and comes with 2 GB Ram resulting into very fast performance. M8 comes microSD card slot that supports up to 128GB cards.

M8 comes with Duo camera setup on the back. The main sensor is 4 Ultra Pixel whereas secondary camera sensor is the depth sensor that calculates the depth while shooting images. M8 has 5mp FFC making it just perfect for clicking Selfies and Wefies. The first thing that someone would notice and works best is the fast focus on M8. It just focuses on objects real fast. One important addition to the camera is the dual tone LED flash, that detects the lighting and automatically selects the right tone and intensity to fire the LED flash to match the lighting. The Ultra Pixel camera on M8 enables to click mind blowing images including the low light conditions. The Camera UI has got complete transformation. With the traditional Camera and Video clicking options, there are additional options to click Selfie, Dual capture using both front and rear camera. HTC has also included manual mode for those willing to utilize personal setting for clicking images. The Zoe mode can do click single image, multiple images (i.e. Sequence shots) with Video and videos. Depth sensor records the depth of various objects in the image and helps to edit/customize the image using various in-built options like U-Focus i.e. selective focus and Foregrounder. There are lots of other options to play with like Seasons, 3D Dimensions Plus, Copy and Paste, stickers and touch-up.

2600 mah battery on M8 is ridiculously awesome. It just refuses to die. Phone easily lasts full day with moderate usage and around 3 ½ hours of screen time. Also with Extreme Power Saver mode enabled, M8 can last around 15 hours with 5% battery.

HTC improved the Boom Sound experience on M8. The sound on M8 much more richer and punchier. It total fun to listen to music or watch videos on M8.

Overall, HTC One M8 is the best phone of 2014. A must have gadget.

HTC One (M8) - The best smartphone in year 2014

Phone owned for less than 3 months

A) Hardware:

HTC has built a tremendous smartphone.
HTC One (M8) is beyond any expectations when it comes to build quality.
HTC One (M8) has even raised the bar, even higher than 2013 HTC One.
Not ONLY it's made of a single piece of premium aluminum body, it also has a relatively lightweight, a great feel in the hand and a luxurious look.
The curved back is awesome and fits perfectly in my hand.
The Gun Metal Grey HTC One (M8) is stunningly good-looking. All of my friends love it.
I loved the tiny hairlines on the back of the HTC One (M8) – though there are plenty of cases to protect my HTC One (M8), but I never keep it in a case. I love the look and feel of it.
I couldn't believe it till I’ve held it. That’s why you have to “See it, Feel it”

Boom Sound Front Dual Speakers and the Noise Cancellation intelligent chip are champions!
Phone calls now are at their best with HTC One (M8)

The all Ultrapixel Camera with the Depth of Field Sensor, on the back are both innovations.
My photos have never looked clearer in the darkest environments.

My selfies and my video calls have never been enjoyable, before I bought my HTC One (M8)
The front facing 5 megapixels camera makes it awesome for you to shine.

Battery life is better than what I had on my previous smartphones

B) Software

HTC One has an even better experience with the HTC Sense 6, on top of latest Android Kit Kat.
Sense 6 is truly lighter than previous Sense versions; it’s minimal, but very capable.
I never experienced any lag, on my HTC One, switching from app to app.

When I first bought my HTC One (M8), I tried to explore HTC Blink Feed. It took me absolutely no time to customize what I need to be shown on Blink Feed. I loved it.

I love the HTC Music Player with rich voice and sound enhancer,
I love hearing music from the stereo Dual Front Facing Boom Sound front speakers and even with my headphones.
I love that the Music Player can actually pull down the lyrics and album arts and show them on screen.

Camera app is now better than ever.
You can switch modes on the camera to Camera, take shots and enjoy the tremendous editing features available to play with.
I really enjoyed playing with U Focus, Foregrounder, Seasons and Dimension Plus.

You can switch modes on the camera to ZOE and enjoy the seamlessness of three operations.
Takes a single shot, by clicking once, take a window of 3 seconds shot, and 20 still shots, and if you keep the button pressed the video mode will lock, automatically.
This gives you the whole thing from still shots to awesome video to capture the moment
This enables you to do tremendous editing! I love all the editing modes, especially the “Always Smile” which enables me to choose the best scene of a group of my friends.
You can remove unneeded moving objects! ZOE is really smarts enough to determine what objects you may need to take out! Mainly moving! I love this option a lot.

The Most Amazing Smartphone Ever!!

Phone owned for less than 3 months

I can say the m8 is the most luxurios smarphone ever even better then the iphone 5s! In the new one we have 2 camera calls dou-camera, the screen is 0.3 inches bigger but we have the last year 4 megapixels (ultrapixel) camera and we have the doul flash like the iphone 5s and the g3. the s5 and z2 camera are better and they have more megapixels but the m8 have dou camera it can change the focus after you take the photos it calls ufocus and it is more bettter than the same by the s5 because of the second camera. the m8 flash is doul LED and it is so good. the htc sense is lighter than the samsung awfull tochwiz and has graet flat design even better than nexus series. the battery isent too bad and it works for a day. the screen had the natural colors and it has very good brightnass. the boomsound speekers are great and they have to loud sound and a great quality much better than the s5 and z2 and you can hear the sound even the phone is in the bedroom and you are taking a shower in the bathroom! And i can only say this phone is amazing!!

Great Phone that Doesn't even have a bad Camera

Phone owned for less than a month

Great phone, got it about 2 weeks ago. Every friend of mine asked me what phone it was because it is just amazing to look at. Some strangers even approached me too to ask what phone it is. I also read many reviews of people complaining about the camera. In my most honest opinion, don't listen to them. Try the camera first before coming to any conclusions because in my experience some of the shots my M8 took were even better than ones taken by the Z2 or S5. So definitely give this phone a try and I will guarantee that you'll like it.

Phone owned for less than a month

Has at least double the battery life of a nexus 5.Looks and feels great ,Sense 6 is fun and makes many app downloads unnecessary.Beats the Note 3 and the LG G2 in battery life. Boomsound is very loud and clear and notification are not muffled when the phone is on a flat surface.I also loved the case that was included in the package ,nice case and a nice gesture from HTC.
