Mediocre phone

Phone owned for more than a year

I had the phone for about 18 months and it was nothing but disappointment, within a month the battery stopped charging properly, after about five months the screen started becoming unresponsive, after a year the phone started dieing at 30% battery life, and I finally got a new phone when it stopped charging at all

HTC Desire 626s

Phone owned for less than 3 months

It is a decent phone with a few problems around every corner as the HTC Sync software for windows or mac (only windows tested) was like it was programmed by monkeys and is to me completely laughable on how to even use the Sync Software as I didn't even get past the connection select and before i knew it I was uninstalling it as getting it to even recognize the phone was a nightmare even when using the USB cable included with the phone. The amount of RAM is great but utilizing the amount of RAM it has requires Root Permissions as the end user can use (after restart) 486MB while at other times 512MB (disabling certain apps; Not Recommended unless you know what you are ding). Bloatware is there as well (not including carrier bloat) as some apps are not able to be uninstalled even when you install the app then remove it again

Nice Phone with Android 6.0.1 update.

Phone owned for less than a year

I have had the 626s for six months now. I am pleased for the most part. I will first comment on the speakerphone. The audio and volume on the speakerphone are lower than normal, I can barely hear it even in a quiet room. The earpiece audio is pretty good especially on an HD call.

The HD display (720 X 1280) with the 294 ppi is quite sharp and vibrant. It really makes my weather apps like radar look real crisp. The colors are nice as well. HTC has it labeled as a Super LCD screen. I wish there was Gorilla Glass on it. I opted on a shatter proof screen protector and a hard shell case.

The 1.5 GB of RAM really makes the phone snappy. I would of liked to see something better than the Snapdragon 210 processor, like the 410. But it seems to handle my apps very smoothly with hardly any lag. Being that this is the Boost Mobile variant, there was a lot of bloat ware. They advertise 3.5 GB of user ROM, but in reality it is about 2 GB once I disabled all the non-installable apps and added the few apps (about 10) that I installed.

The cameras are not bad. The rear 8 MP is decent, a bit grainy though. The front 2 MP is fair and does what I need it to. The auto focus could be better, but like another reviewer pointed out, this is not a $600.00 phone.

The battery when the phone is on standby in a strong signal area lasts longer than I expected. When I have the HD screen on long, I notice the battery will drain rapidly. I also keep the 4G, GPS, and Wi-Fi off to help conserve battery life. For the most part, I use 40%-50% battery daily which I feel is better than average for the HD screen it has.

On 6/11/2016 I received the OTA update to Marshmallow 6.0.1 and already the phone is quicker. There are a few new animations and features like finally, a percentage function in the calculator. The phone is more responsive overall. The "Do Not Disturb" enhancements are very useful. I am not confined to the same time slot on the selected days.
