For a backup phone it's decent, but as a main phone you should look elsewhere
Phone owned for more than a year

I have the HTC Desire 520 as a backup phone and although I have not used it since February (my main phone at the time had it's battery break), I still think it's a pretty okay phone. It's quite durable, it doesn't feel cheap and it's easy to grip the phone. Battery life on it is actually pretty good, I'd usually have to charge the thing after 11 hours of use which is great compared to the 3-4 hours of use I'd get out of my LG Leon (main phone at the time). I didn't make any calls on it nor did I text on it since mine is still cricket locked and I use T-Mobile, so I can't exactly speak on that part. The cameras on it are not too bad, front camera could be a bit better but what could you expect from a $100 phone, I've seen worse on phones more expensive. Here's an idea of pictures you can get from this phone:

Now there were some problems with this phone. For example, the snapdragon 210 SoC was slow even compared to my Leon's measly 410 but getting used to it was surprisingly easy (which is one of the reasons I recommend this as a BACKUP phone and not a DAILY DRIVER), it also didn't have much space and the speakers were loud, but they distorted easily. Other than that, I'm happy with this phone for what I use it for.
