I always despised iPhones and thought that people who had them were brainwashed. I used to have a Samsung Focus (wp7) It got stolen and got an iphone on insurance. It looks great, excellent build quality and the screen is almost as amazing as a super amoled. I love having so many apps and the itunes integration. But the social integration and notifications of iOS is so old and clumsy. the 3g is a bit here and there and the coverage goes down lots when you hold it in your left hand. The camera is great quality and takes amazing pictures. No fm radio and file sharing though. I think i will be updating to a 4'' super amoled Nokia Mango wp7 later this year...
Personally, I am very disappointed with the iPhone 4. Apple customer service is a...(fill in the blank).
As a "phone" it rates about a 1.5
Although I must give credit where credit is due, actually operating the iPhone 4 is very intuitive and relatively easy navigation of apps.
I think Apple might want to actually listen to the people who buy these phones, and incorporate some of the more "useful" functions.
My question to Apple is:
Why does it matter to you what people do with the iPhone once they purchase it ?
In reality, it's only a material thing, nothing more.
The iPhone 4 is amazing,i have wanted to have an iphone since the 3gs was released, and now i was able to get one,it is really expensive but if you are able to afford it it has a strange feeling to it,once you get it you start feeling that no phone can surpass this, this is perfection and you simply stop caring about what new phoens are released...If the iphone 5 need to be convincing enogh to drop this beauty it must have a coffee maker in it or smth...
my best friend gave me his iphone 4 telling me that this is the best phone ever ...i gave him my samsung wave s8500.it was kind of like a 1 week trade. using it a week i realized how bad the battery, the display, the text imput, the camera, and the Ios is. to pay twice the price on an iphone than buying a better and i mean a BETTER smartphone is ridiculous. it seems the iphone is a phone for ages between 5 and 18. if you are a mature person that knows something about technology go and buy a samsung or sony ericsson smartphone!
I have never owned an Apple product before. I ran into the Apple and Verizon stores with no idea what to expect from a either of them, and came out genuinely interested in the iPhone. My apologies to Android die-hards, but I'm not a phone "power-user" and I'm not really concerned with free software and open source.
The phone itself is beautiful - polished glass and stainless steel band give it a very classy, high quality looks. Simply holding it gives the impression of a superior product. The interface is fluid & responds instantly, and is very natural and easy to use - I figured it out after only a few minutes in the store. Everything is easily accessible without having to dig through multiple menu.
IPhone 4.
I am not going to go into a full review as almost everyone has at least read about or seen an iPhone 4 and has a general idea of the features and pros/cons. But I do want to call out a few things:
Build Quality - I saw a bunch of people complain about glass etc....this is one of the toughest phones I've ever owned. I've chucked it at things(yes i have anger issues), dropped it on cement, have it get crushed in my pocket when carrying things or when my gf sits on my lap and it still doesn't have a scratch(i am only using the apple bumpers as a case) Also, the only reason I even use a case(aside from the stupid antennagate problem that was blown out of proportion) is that the iPhone 4's design makes it easier to slip out of your hand, so the bumpers are very helpful in giving me a more solid grip.
Reception/Call quality - Much improved over previous iPhones...noise cancellation mic etc make it one of the best on ATT, however it obviously can't compete with verizon
Internet - I don't know why people and even sites claim ATT has the fastest network, it is dog slow and both verizon and sprint are faster for me
Camera - Amazing for a 5MP camera, looks better than many 8MP cameras and the HDR photos are awesome
Battery - Hands down best battery life on a smartphone...this thing can easily handle 2-3 days on normal usage and 1-1.5 days on heavy usage including playing 3d games
Keyboard - Still the best standard virtual keyboard out there, although I wish I could get SWYPE on it
Iphone get improvment ever year thtas why still the best phone in touch screen field the new retina display with 960x640 its breath taking screen, new battry its excllent 10+ its more than enough for ever day usage, app with Retina display looks amazing, the 5 m pixel camera its major imporvment in iphone 4 with the front facing camera that Apple mentioned its VGA camera! it does look like an 2 m pixel camera wow.
What can I say iPhone 4 the best touch screen I ever use it in touch phone the best swipe best multitouch phone best design so smooth and so fast touch it's so respensive unlike other touch screen phone I didn't face any call drop and call quality it's v good.Z
apple's crown and jewel phone. fabulos features and specification. facetime, the first mobile phone which brings video call to the world. before this only can hear the voice, but now i can see how the person is doing, can see his/her surroundings. second is retina display, the highest resolution ever built in a phone. i'm doing this reiew by using my new iphone 4. the display is awsome. the camera, the first high definition video camera phone, and 5 megapixel camerawith led flash.
problems and solutions:
1) the antenna system- is not just for iphone 4 but it is the weakness to all smartphones avaiable in world. you should see the iphone 4 press meet in youtube. apple comes out with solutions that is put a bumper or case for phone and iOS version 4.0.1 is released which will repair the signal bars and bugs.
so ithink iphone 4 is the best ever phone which ever created. even had a problem the apple always comes out with an solution because they care every users.
I have had a terrible experience with my iphone4.
-WiFi is not working properly since the evening of the day I bought.
-After one week, the phone did not turn on, it was completely dead. The service center (DTAC) also hesitated to give me the new one. They just said a small piece of paper is found in my handset, which was ridiculous, I have just bought it new (from their very showroom)!!!
(I suspect apple have send a refurbished handsets to sell as a new one in third world countries.)
However, I had got a new handset with much older version of iOS and had to reinstall everything again.
-With new handset, I had found my internal memory was 14GB not 16GB, the DTAC service center could not give me the reason why it was less than it should have been, especially it was less than the one they replaced for me.
-For as many reasons as stars in the sky, they rejected to replace me with the new one with 16GB memory.
-The worst thing is it fails to serve its main purpose, the voice call or "PHONE".
Other experiences can be found in rating comments.
I still regret I changed from my old Nokia e71 to iPhone4, it could not serve any of my purposes like my old Nokia did. No Quickoffice which I can create and edit office2007 Word/Excel/Powerpoint files. No Lotus notes traveller which I can access my company mail, etc.
After my 2 years contract is over, I will never come back to iPhone again, I promise.
The iPhone 4 is a decent phone from my experience. One of its better feature's is the fact that it has a front facing camera, and video chat capabilities. I find that though the device looks great cosmetically, the mostly glass build is its downfall. Because of this, the iPhone 4 is more susceptible to scratches and cracks in its structure. I have owned 3 different iPhone 4's, and all of them have had reception issues. Arguably most mobile devices have this problem, however I have noticed that it is particularly worse on the iPhone 4. Aside from these negatives, the iPhone does have iOS, which is a huge advantage. iOS is definitely one of the most polished operating systems I have ever used. The iPhone 4 is also very user friendly and responsive. Battery life is outstanding. I am able to get about 2-3 days on a single charge with consistent use. The camera quality on the iPhone 4 is also one of the best I have seen, especially when recording 720p video.
Overall, the iPhone 4 is a fairly decent device. It is one of the better offerings from At&t.
Stellar phone. i hate the hype. Not a fan of At&t so i use it on T-mobile for fun.
The best touch phone ever made I know there is lot of touch touchy phones around with huge specification like USB I'm the go superAMOLED screen HDMI and removable battery etc... I try out the Nokia n8, galaxy s, samsung wave NO of all those phones has touch like iPhone the only phone in the market has iPhone speed and excllent touch screen the WM7 only.
This is the best phone out there right now. HANDS DOWN! It's incredible to think that the iPhone 5 is going to be better than this! I'm super excited. Droid'd are sweet but they just crash and aren't as reponsive as the iPhone. The iPhone is just a little bit better in every way than the DROID.
First to start off, I am an Android Fan, and I do not have any bias towards any phone (Considering the fact that I work selling phones) I think this phone is pretty cool. I love the Retina display on it, the vividness of the display just blew my mind when viewing pics from my Photographer friends. The only thing that I sort of don't like is the UI, I like being able to fully customize my screens, whereas with the iPhone everything is already layed out for you in a list of all your apps. Overall, it's a great Phone and I would recommend to anyone
Iphon4 nice phone every
thing is exlant body and finishing and huge aplications and camera very nice and battery when iuse normal was stay 2 days and speed very good >> screen colours very good and use very sample and easy
realy its good mobile and ilike its
The phone is awesome, i have been using it since from 4 months, i don't find any reception problem in my mobile..touch screen response is too good, photo and video quality is extraordinary.
It's decent, but many phones (android) can easily overtake this phone. I think the EVO 4g and many upcoming android phones will easily outshine this phone. Android is amazing with everything it has in its UI. "they can go toe to toe with the iphone, and beat it".
Everything about this phone is awesome. I suggest try this phone out in Apple Stores. Do not believe the negative comments in here. They are non iphone users who are just hateful of the iphone. They pretend that they own an iphone, but they actually have something else.
i came from an evo 4g to the iphone and all i can say is wowwwwwww!!! the phone 4 is sweet, too many pros to list so i'll list cons. mr. jobs give us a 4. screen, and a few widgets thats it. so much better than that evo crap that freezes like its in the northpole lags like its stuck in glue and gets hotter than the sun. iphone 4 is a superb device. at&t really sucks by the way, this phone would be even better on sprint.
The reception is amazing if you people will get an otter box or any casing that covers the lower left side...apple has stated that they have made an error with it and if you just get a case were you cant touch it then everything will be fine and dandy...sooo get you some...
As expected when checking over the reviews, it's pretty obvious to spot fanboys of Android, Nokia, Windows Phone 7, etc. that have never touched this phone, much less owned it. As an owner since it shipped, I'll give you my impression: First the "bad." Everybody has heard about "antennagate" with the signal attenuation by placing it over the lower left corner. Yes, I can cause it to happen but no, I don't drop a call because of it. The iPhone 4 signal is so much stronger than what I've been used to with other phones that, even attenuated, the signal is strong and the call is clear for me. I can't speak for all users but that has been my experience. Now the good: everything else. This screen is gorgeous. The 960x640 resolution is stunning. In fact, it's always a little disturbing to see application icons from developers that have yet to update their icon to the higher resolution; it really sticks out if they haven't. Fortunately, it's only a handful now. The UI speed is amazing and there is never any lag with touch operations. Apple has added a lot of great improvements with iOS 4.2 and so the experience just keeps getting better. The camera on this is phenomenal, especially compared to previous iPhones and if you take photos with the HDR setting turned on, you will never turn it off. That alone makes photos taken with this phone better than any I've seen on any camera. Amazing device: component quality, software and battery life is unmatched by any phone maker I've seen.
This is a wonderful phone recommend it to everybody..the people that complain about the camera either dont own this phone and are jelous or they have messed up eyes.. the camera is outstanding.. the only con i would say is reception, i would give it 9/10 maybe because i am running on t-mobile? but everything is wonderful on the phone. just jailbreak it and get all the apps for free...
I just want to say that anyone who can complain about the camera on this phone is just bitching for bitching's sake. I've had no trouble with this phone and I travel all over the U.S. I've had Evo, Palm Pre, MyTouch Slide, Hero and the Eris. This is the best phone I've ever owned.
I honestly believed that this phone would be great. It would be my first iPhone purchase. I had seen and tested my mates iPhone 3GS and thought that this newer generation would improve greatly over the 3GS. I was soon to be disappointed.
The new 5mp shooter is of an average quality, it does well enough, but honestly, it has the same picture qaulity as my girlfriends Sony X10 Mini Pro. the LED flash is also the same. The 720p shooting, is one thing I have to commend. It takes really smooth and sharp videos.
The Retina Display is also nothing to really care about. I mean, sure, its super dense, but I've got screen smaller than this with higher resolutions. So as usual, Apple took and old idea, gave it a new name and marketed it as a "NEW and INNOVATIVE" technology.
SUMMARY: Really SAD Apple. All of these small features like 'FLASH' and 'High Resolution' and 5mp camera with HD recording should have all been made available through the 3GS. there is no difference betwenn the 3G and the 3GS, and all of these features could have been fetured in the 3GS!!!!!!!! Instead of buygin this phone, you could always buy another phone for daily tasks and high end camera, FOR A LOWER PRICE, and with the spare cash, get the iPod Touch 8gb or 32gb, just for your apps.
