Love it! Long review

Phone owned for less than 3 months

I love this Apple Watch. For context, I'm not one to be all giddy over technology as I don't necessarily jump for joy when the next "big thing" comes out. First things first, the battery life on this is amazing. I know on Apples' website, it's rated for 36 hours with certain conditions being met but this thing easily last up to 5 days when just wearing it as a normal watch with normal usage. When I say normal usage, I mean answering some texts throughout the day, maybe take a call or 2, play around with the fitness app to check my calories, the reason I bought it. For context, I use my watch as described and currently as I'm writing this, the watch is at 18%. It's been 84 hours since it's been taken off the charger. You'd be tempted to think that at some point within the next few hours that I will have to charge it, but no. This will probably last me the rest of the day and I'll probably charge it this time tomorrow. So that would be 4.5 days.

When it comes to the size, I will admit I was a bit worried considering so many people were put off by the size of it, with it being nearly twice as thick as an Apple Watch Series 8 and a 49mm display vs a 45mm. I will admit, it does look a little thick when I look at it, but that's only when I look at it. For context, the last time I wore a watch was maybe 15 years ago. So going from not wearing a watch at all to this was a little different but I've gotten used to it and the size of it doesn't bother me at all. I've even fallen asleep with it on a couple of times. All in all, I'm actually really pleased with the size, my brother ordered the series 8 at the same time I ordered mine so looking at his vs mine, I'm glad I went with the ultra. I think I'll also point out that I'm a 5'9" male, weighing 200 lbs. I point that out because I'm not that big of a guy and when looking for reviews myself, I kind of wanted to get an idea of how someone my height and build felt about the size of the watch on their wrist. So maybe that can kind of put into perspective for some of you.

The build quality is excellent. I work in a machine shop so having the Apple Watch Ultra being made of titanium is definitely a plus. I have a screen protector on it as well and so far, with regular usage, 5-6 days a week wearing it at work, not a single scratch or ding on the watch anywhere.

Call quality is very very good. I'm not one to go out of my way to answer calls with my watch but when I have, the call quality was crystal clear. I'd even go as far as to say it's better than my brand new iPhone 13 Pro (yes, it's really that good).

The UI is smooth and don't have any complaints there. So all in all, this watch is awesome and was definitely worth the purchase. Yes, its a bit pricey, but the battery life, and the ruggedness makes it worth it.
