A before-and-after comparison of a smartphone's home screen customization.
Samsung has something most other Android phone makers don’t and that is its powerful Good Lock customization suite. After being locked to certain regions for years, Good Lock is finally breaking free.

That is right, according to a new report, the global rollout has begun and Galaxy users around the world can now start tweaking their phones exactly the way they like.

You can grab Good Lock from the Galaxy Store and dive into all the customization options. It is not on the Play Store yet, but Samsung will probably add it there soon. Just keep in mind the global release might be happening in stages, so availability could vary depending on your region.

Interestingly, this launch comes even though Samsung had to put the brakes on the One UI 7 rollout for unknown reasons. While that update is still on hold, it appears Samsung went ahead and pushed out Good Lock, which is definitely a win for users eager to personalize their devices.

The release also comes shortly after Samsung revealed the top three most downloaded Good Lock modules. Which are they? Well, Sound Assistant takes the number one spot with 21 million downloads.

It gives users detailed volume control with one to ten level increments and even lets you revamp how the volume panel looks – because, yes, your ears and eyes both deserve a treat.

Next up is Theme Park with 17 million downloads. It lets you create your own custom themes, picking your wallpaper, system colors, icon shapes and even tweaking the Samsung Keyboard and quick panel for a more personal touch.

In third place is One Hand Operation Plus, boasting 16 million downloads as of March 2025. With this tool, you can assign different actions to swipes from each side of the screen, including opening notifications, going back, launching recent apps and more – all fully customizable.

All in all, it is great to finally see Samsung making Good Lock available to more users. It gives Galaxy owners more ways to make their phones feel like their own – and that could be a big deal for anyone still on the fence about which Android brand to go with.
