Walmart hasn't technically followed Target and eBay's suit in formally announcing any extensive sales clashing with Amazon's 48-hour Prime Day deal extravaganza next week, but if you visit the world's largest retailer right now (either on or offline), you'll surely notice some big savings are available for select Google-powered gadgets.
These "Google Week" deals are set to run through July 16, and although you can find a bunch of them on the search giant's own website as well, one special Walmart offer does stand out. The Lenovo Smart Clock, unveiled all the way back in January and commercially released just a few weeks ago, is already discounted by a cool $20, fetching an even more affordable $59.99.
As the name suggests, the Smart Clock is smaller and a little more basic than "smart displays" like the Google Nest Hub, sporting a 4-inch touchscreen with 800 x 480 pixel resolution and thus fitting nicely on your nightstand to perform various voice-commanded tasks that will help you sleep better, wake up more naturally, and get important information from around the web without having to lift a finger.
We're talking customized sound and media alarms, weather info at a glance, news updates, music streaming capabilities, and yes, even smart home controls, all done using your voice and a device that barely tips the scales at a tad over 300 grams. The Lenovo Smart Clock is not sold directly by Google, mind you, currently going for its full $79.99 retail price at the likes of B&H Photo Video.
Other devices discounted at Walmart as part of the same "Google Week" sale include a $25 Home Mini ($24 off), $69 Google Home (down from $99), and a $60 Google Smart TV Kit containing a Chromecast and Google Home Mini (which would normally be worth a combined $74).
