Save big on the Galaxy S9 and S9+ at Best Buy right now with activation or monthly installments
Considering how easy it can be nowadays to get the Galaxy S10, S10+, S10e, and Note 9 at a nice discount or with a cool gift included at no extra charge, it might seem hard to justify the purchase of Samsung's older Galaxy S9 or S9+ in lieu of the aforementioned snazzy powerhouses.

But that's where Best Buy comes in, offering unbeatable deals on the two early 2018-released flagships with qualified activation. Normally priced at $599.99, the smaller model is on sale right now for as little as $399.99 unlocked. That's 100 bucks lower than the unlocked rate currently charged by Samsung after a $100 discount of its own, although you do have to meet one very important requirement to score the additional $100 off. Namely, activate the 5.8-inch Galaxy S9 on Verizon, AT&T, or Sprint straight off the bat.

The same condition applies to buyers of the unlocked Galaxy S9+ if they also want to shave $200 off the 6.2-incher's $699.99 list price. You can choose to activate the dual rear camera-sporting handset "later" as well, but in that case, you'll need to cough up $599.99.

If you don't have a problem signing a device payment plan, you're looking at even heftier savings, as Best Buy allows AT&T subscribers to snap up the regular-sized Galaxy S9 at only $300 overall after 30 monthly installments of $9.99 or 24 of $12.49. Meanwhile, the plus-sized variant is up for grabs at a grand total of $400 instead of a $700 list price with 24 or 30 monthly payments of $16.66 and $13.33 respectively for use on the same carrier.

Curiously enough, there are no notable discounts offered for Sprint customers with installment plans, while Best Buy's Verizon-specific deals are nothing to write home about, capping off at total savings of $200. Keep in mind that the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are hardly pushovers by today's ultra-high-end standards, packing blazing fast Snapdragon 845 processors and up to a generous 6 gigs of RAM. Their clean designs, including no holes or notches, are still favored by many mobile enthusiasts, and Android 9.0 Pie naturally runs the software show already.
