Amazon's Galaxy S26+ Prime Big Deal Days discount is almost too big to be true

Are you thinking of buying the Galaxy S26 Ultra at its massive new Prime Day discount but want to explore all your options first to make sure Samsung's latest (non-foldable) crown jewel is the best Android phone for you this holiday season? Then it's probably wise to take a quick look at the Galaxy S26 Plus as well.

That's obviously not a better device than its Ultra brother, but it is cheaper, and at a discount of up to $420, it might actually offer superior bang for your buck. To save 420 bucks, mind you, you will need to opt for a 512GB storage variant of the S26+ that recently went up from a list price of $1,299.99 to $1,399.99.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is another ultra-high-end Samsung phone you should definitely consider at its hefty new Prime Day discount.

If you're an Amazon Prime member in the market for a great high-end Android phone at an excellent price this holiday season, you might want to consider getting the 6.7-inch Galaxy S26 Plus for $420 less than usual in a 512GB storage variant or at a $375 discount in an entry-level 256 gig configuration.

Interestingly, that all means the Galaxy S26 Plus with 512 gigs of internal storage space costs the same as an entry-level S26 Ultra configuration with only 256 gigs of local digital hoarding room, and the choice between the two is clearly not very easy.

Of course, there's a cheaper Galaxy S26+ model with 256GB storage to consider as well, and although its Prime Day discount sits at a humbler $375 right now, its $1,199.99 regular price (recently increased from $1,099.99) makes that deal extremely enticing for hardcore Samsung fans and general Android power users who can't afford the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Granted, the 6.7-inch Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powerhouse (with no built-in S Pen or Privacy Display functionality) has been sold at even lower prices by both Amazon and its own manufacturer a couple of times in the past in a few different color options. But I'm not sure those deals are ever coming back, and besides, you can now choose your favorite paint job in addition to your favorite storage configuration at the same killer discount.

And no, the Galaxy S26 Plus is definitely not the world's most popular high-end handset, but at the right price (and these feel pretty right to me), it's unquestionably one of the best phones around, with an awesome screen, excellent cameras, phenomenal overall performance, and pretty much unbeatable long-term software support.
