Only a small subset of Note 10 and Note 10+ US users will be able to join Android 10 beta 'soon'
Samsung did a pretty good job of updating its high-end phones to Android Pie late last year and early this year, at least by its own standards, and it looks like the world's top mobile device vendor will be raising its game as far as Android 10 rollouts are concerned.
Hot on the heels of the Galaxy S10 family, the Note 10 and Note 10+ are just about ready to take the newest version of the world's most popular mobile operating system for a spin... in its unpolished form. The One UI 2.0 beta program is slated to kick off "soon" in both the company's homeland of South Korea and the US.
While we still don't have an exact start date for the latter market, there's a good chance the festivities will begin by the end of the week. If not, registrations are almost definitely going to open sometime next week. Once that happens, you will have a fairly narrow window of time to join the public beta tests and help shape the final form of the Android 10 user interface on the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus, as well as provide precious feedback to fix the inherent bugs of a software update in this stage of development.
Unfortunately, it appears that Samsung will be restricting early access to the US beta program to users of unlocked Note 10 and Note 10+ variants purchased directly from the company. There's no love for carrier-specific models, at least for starters, unlike Galaxy S10, S10+, and S10e beta tests, which can be joined by owners of unlocked devices, as well as those who've bought any of the three phones from T-Mobile or Sprint.
Of course, the Android 10-based One UI beta is likely to expand to additional versions of the Note 10 and Note 10+, as well as the Galaxy S10, S10+, and S10e, down the line. The Verizon-exclusive Note 10+ 5G could also get a later invite of its own ahead of official, stable updates expected to begin for Samsung handsets around the world before 2019 ends.
