Samsung's first phone with a rotating camera looks destined for a US release
Before unveiling the high-end Galaxy S10 family, Samsung expanded and reimagined its mid-range portfolio with three new Galaxy A-series releases and an entirely new Galaxy M lineup. All six devices come with sleek designs, "Infinity" screens, and discreet notches, but unfortunately, none of these budget-friendly bad boys is officially available stateside.
Hot on the heels of the Galaxy A10, A30, and A50, Samsung appears to be gearing up for Galaxy A90, A40, and A20e announcements in Europe, and at least one of those three non-flagship models is now also expected to go on sale in the US... at some point over the next few months. This is more than idle speculation, mind you, as the company's own official US website mentions the Galaxy A90 by name in the terms and conditions of a new gaming deal.
To redeem your free Lotus Evora Sport 410, 50,000 credits, 250 tokens, and 10 premium card packs in Asphalt 9: Legends, all you need to do is download Gameloft's popular action car racing game from the Galaxy Store, install it on your eligible device, complete a tutorial, and follow a few simple instructions. That's pretty cool if you're into those sorts of games and in-app freebies, but what really piqued our interest about this promotion is the aforementioned list of eligible devices.
As first noticed by the folks over at Dutch website GalaxyClub, that includes the Galaxy A90 in addition to the already released Galaxy S10, S10+, S10e, and Note 9, and the unreleased but recently unveiled Galaxy Tab S5e. Unless we're looking at a very curious typo, that practically guarantees impending US availability for the Galaxy A90 with "ultimate gaming"-friendly specifications in tow.
Unfortunately, we still don't know what processor to expect from the A90... or many other features, for that matter, although the "budget flagship" is rumored to come with a single, pop-up, and rotating 48MP camera that could take both everyday photographs and ultra-high-res selfies. Color us excited!
