Behold the OnePlus 6T in an unreleased Thunder Purple color variant
OnePlus certainly likes to keep things fresh when it comes to the color options of the company’s already enticing smartphones, making headlines over the past couple of years with limited edition devices coated in Lava Red, Sandstone White, Silk White, and Amber Red.
While it’s hard not to think of Huawei’s gradient designs when looking at these promotional images of this unreleased OnePlus 6T option, it wouldn't be fair to call the phone a copycat. Those are some pretty unique shades the 6T is rocking, ranging from a darker violet to something more closely resembling lavender.
Besides, we can probably all agree more smartphone manufacturers need to “rip off” the gradient effect to help high-end mobile devices shine (both figuratively and literally speaking).
It remains to be seen if this is the only additional color option planned for the OnePlus 6T or if perhaps there’s also a red or white version in the pipeline. By the way, there are no words on a Thunder Purple release date yet, but an official announcement could drop any day now.
Just like the OnePlus 6, the hot new 6T is available as standard only in Mirror Black and Midnight Black variants, but a far snazzier third model seems to be right around the corner. Thanks to a little-known blog called Mr. Gizmo (cool name, by the way), we get to check out the “Thunder Purple” OnePlus 6T in all its glory today in a quartet of high-quality leaked press renders.
There’s absolutely no doubt in our mind these images are legit, showing off the gorgeous back, front, and sides of a handset you probably won’t be able to buy from T-Mobile in the US. That would obviously be amazing, but knowing OnePlus, this beaut is bound to hit a limited number of markets in limited inventory, at least at first.
