Moto G22 leaks full specs & price ahead of launch
Motorola is known for making not only world-class flagship powerhouses, such as the upcoming Edge 30 Ultra and Razr 3, but for also filling in the gaps where solid budget phones are in demand. Such is the Moto G series which debuted in 2013, and its latest addition—the Moto G22—has just fully leaked, exactly a month ahead of its launch.
We noticed the Moto G22 on Geekbench back in January, but after today's spill, very little has been left to the imagination about the new ultra-budget device.
The leak, coming from a tech journalist in Germany, revealed everything from a giant 5,000 mAh battery, to a triple camera setup headed by a 50MP sharpshooter, a microSD slot, and a price to truly tempt any emerging market, which is where Motorola will target the Moto G22.

The chipset is confirmed to be a Helio G37 by MediaTek, which performs just slightly better than the Snapdragon 450 in terms of specs, and does not support 5G. Of course, while the processor is no match for Qualcomm's modern Snapdragon lineup, it really allows Motorola to keep the cost of the device as low as possible.
RAM is also kept at a minimum at 4GB, and there seems to be only a single variant with 64GB of storage. Of course, the microSD card slot allows for plenty of expansion on that.
The display is middling-sized at 6.5 inches, and the 90 Hz refresh rate means it will be good for games—the equipped Helio chipset performs decently with mainstream games as well. We're expecting the phone in three solid colors: White, Iceberg Blue, and Cosmic Black.
The selfie camera will come with 16MP, while the back camera array features a 50MP main snapper, an 8MP sensor with ultra wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro camera.
The Moto G22 is expected to launch in India on March 18 this spring, for around €200, or roughly USD $227.
