LG announces wireless earbuds with Google Assistant button
Ahead of IFA 2018, LG has announced a new lineup of Xboom wireless speakers, some of which will come with support for Google Assistant baked-in, as well as a pair of wireless wireless earbuds with similar functionality.

LG's new, Tone Platinum SE earbuds have a dedicated button for summoning Google Assistant without having to use the "OK Google" voice command. This allows users to easily interact with the virtual assistant and use features, such as real-time voice translation via Google Translate, with a single press of a button. Without the need to always invoke a trigger phrase, communicating in another language becomes faster and more natural.

On the other hands, the Pixel Buds had a similar feature, though it was triggered with a tap on the bud, and it didn't pass as particularly natural either. Still, we'd have to wait and test out LG's implementation for ourselves.

The South Korean tech giant also announced a second, Ultra SE model of the earbuds, which is similar to the regular version, but boasts an external mono speaker that lets users make calls and listen to music without blocking out ambient sounds.
