iPhone app predicts how much radiation is being emitted by the handset
With Maine getting ready to put a vote on placing brain cancer warning labels on cell phones, it looks like there was a concerned developer looking to do what they can presently to make iPhone users aware of the radiation being emitted by their smartphones. For all you know, you could potentially by holding a ticking time bomb in your hand and you wouldn't even have the slightest clue. One app-development start-up called Tawkon utilizes the hotly talked about debate about cell phone radiation and created an app that predicts the amount being emitted by the iPhone. Although it actually does not measure, hence why there's more emphasis on predicting, it comes up with an approximate assumption based on factors such as how far you're away from a cell phone tower. Despite being considered as a useful item, it has yet to be approved for the App Store – it's probably going to take some convincing by the developer to get it through the approval process. We'd surmise that Apple wouldn't be too thrilled about iPhone owners getting an inkling that their beloved handset is in some way, possibly, bombarding their faces with some invisible forces. Looking outside the iPhone, the developer is also looking to get a similar version approved for BlackBerry and Android handsets.
