Possible iPhone SE 2 screen gets compared with the iPhone X: Check out the smaller notch
Talk about a second generation of the small but potent iPhone SE has been around for some time now, with the gossip windmill spewing more and more leaks and gossip as the developer-centric WWDC nears. The most substantial leak that we've got hold off is an alleged display panel for said iPhone SE 2 that features a notch, heavily hinting that the iPhone X design language could seep down to the smallest iPhone lineup.
A brand new leak originating from the vast expanse that Twitter is shows us two screen protectors, one clearly intended for the iPhone X, and a similar-looking but much smaller one allegedly prepped for the iPhone SE 2. As Sonny Dickson, the leaker behind the screen protector, points out, the notch of the iPhone SE 2 has a smaller area. There's a reason for that, it would seem - rumors point out that while the phone would likely have a notch, it wouldn't necessarily boast the iPhone X's 3D face-recognition tech.

This falls in line with all the earlier rumors we've heard so far and really fills us with optimism that, you see, Apple could actually release an iPhone SE 2 this year.
However, there's still a lot of uncertainty: we are not entirely convinced a seemingly major announcement like the iPhone SE 2 would take place at a purely developer-centric event like WWDC, which usually is the stage on which new version of iOS, macOS, and watchOS debut. A slightly more probable announcement date for the iPhone SE 2 could be Aple's September event, which would treat us to a full refresh of the iPhone lineup.
We've taken the opportunity to create a handful of cool renders that could showcase the upcoming iPhone SE 2, you can check them out below:
We will live, and we will see.
