The 2024 refresh of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has just sneakily launched, sort of
Samsung's got a reputation for making great Android tablets at prices that won't break the bank. Unsurprisingly, it looks like they are at it again this year with the refresh of their popular Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, now dubbed the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024), which has just quietly showed up on Samsung's Romanian web store.
The Romanian store listing was first spotted by Gizmochina and pretty much confirms that it will be available in two colors: Grey and Mint. The listing also reveals that the tablet will be offered in one 4GB RAM/64GB storage configuration, at least in that location. The tablet's refresh has been rumored for some time now, and we pretty much knew at this point what to expect, down to the colors, specs, and pricing.

The design of the 2024 Tab S6 Lite stays pretty similar to previous versions, but now you can snag it in a fresh new "Mint" color, just as we had previously seen in the leaks. The big upgrade appears to be under the hood, with Samsung reportedly ditching the old Snapdragon 732G/720G used in the 2022 refresh for something they're keeping under wraps for now. However, leaks point to the Exynos 1280 chip powering this update.
Other than that, the specs should sound familiar. You've got:
The battery and charging stay the same, and thankfully, the S Pen is still part of the deal. You'll be running the latest One UI 6.1, but some fancy Samsung AI features might be out of reach due to the processor. Also interesting – while the Exynos 1280 can handle 5G, this Tab S6 Lite sticks with LTE connectivity. S Pen support is also pretty much assumed since the product images clearly show one in tow.
While the Romanian listing does not include pricing, and we're still waiting on Samsung to confirm U.S. availability and price, it is expected that the tablet will be priced in the ballpark of $400 as with previous models. If you've got an older Tab S6 Lite, the upgrade might not be a must-have unless you're really craving that processing boost. But if you're rocking an even older tablet or looking for your first S Pen-compatible device on a budget, this refresh might just be the ticket.
Other than that, the specs should sound familiar. You've got:
- 10.4-inch TFT display (still 60Hz, though)
- 8MP rear camera (records 1080p)
- 5MP selfie camera
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- MicroSD card slot for expandable storage
