Apple's second-gen AirPods are already on sale at a decent discount on Amazon
Even though Apple took more than two years to upgradelightly refresh the insanely successful first-gen AirPods, rumors are already swirling about a third variant possibly coming by the end of the year with noise cancelation technology in tow. That may very well be the reason why second-generation AirPods are on sale for the second time in the space of just one week at a respectable discount.

Once again, we're talking about the refreshed model paired with a wired charging case, which could also explain these unusually early deals, as the pricier wireless charging case combo might be proving more popular, especially among owners of the original AirPods looking for a substantial set of new features. Last but not least, we should keep in mind the sportier (and costlier) Beats Powerbeats Pro are right around the corner, which could contribute to lower-than-expected demand for second-gen AirPods as well.
Whatever the reason (or combination of reasons), fans of "magical" wireless earbuds should be ecstatic to see these bad boys offered at a $19 discount on Amazon mere weeks after their commercial rollout. That may not sound like a lot, but it shaves a cool 12 percent off the list price, matching Costco's promotion last week while requiring no membership or other special conditions. That's a heftier discount than what first-gen AirPods used to get after two full years on the market.

The only small inconvenience is that Amazon won't be able to deliver the marked-down wireless headphones right away, estimating they'll be in stock on May 7. Identical in design to their forerunners, the rehashed AirPods come with "Hey Siri" support (aka hands-free digital assistant activation), as well as an all-new Apple H1 chip promising major connectivity and battery life improvements.
