It's no big secret that Apple seems to be valuing product diversity more than ever, but although it's definitely nice to get the choice between so many solid iPhone variants right now, we wouldn't exactly call something like the $449 and up iPhone 8 a great bargain.
Oddly enough, you can't even buy the 2017-released 4.7-incher (or its 5.5-inch sibling, for that matter) at a decent discount in certified refurbished condition from Apple at the time of this writing, but on the bright side, one carrier has the oldie on sale at a totally unbeatable price. We're talking as little as $219.99 with activation on a 30-day plan, as long as you remember to apply the "OCTOBER20" promo code to your order before checkout.
As you can imagine, these are reconditioned units available at this killer price, and unfortunately, no warranty information is provided on the official product webpage. But you won't be purchasing the refurbs from some shady eBay seller, and even though you'll probably have to wait a while before you can switch carriers, Total Wireless is a totally reliable MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) using Verizon's cell towers to guarantee nationwide coverage.
Keep in mind that the iPhone 8 itself will set you back $195 after a $155 markdown from a regular price of $250 for reconditioned units, while the carrier's prepaid plans start at $25 a month. Because the entry-level option comes with no data allotment whatsoever, you should probably set aside an extra $10 to get a 5GB 4G LTE bucket.
That still means you'll be paying a measly 230 bucks or so for a handset arguably worth significantly more, what with its respectable Apple A11 Bionic processor in tow, as well as front-mounted Touch ID fingerprint scanner, excellent battery life, almost surprisingly capable single rear camera, and superb speakers. You also get 64 gigs of storage space and the choice between silver and space gray hues, at least if you hurry.
