Laptop powered by a power bank.
It's now officially Android's Big Battery Era, as our very own Alan declared it on the weekend – but it's not just Android smartphones that enjoy battery technology enhancements.

If you actually use your laptop as intended – instead of just using it on your desk, hooked to the grid all the time – you know that battery life is crucial. We need power banks, but power banks that can deliver high charging speeds and store some serious mAh numbers.

Enter the Aohi Starship Pro, or the "world's most powerful 310W 20,000mAh power bank", as its creators present it. It's currently at Indiegogo, raising funds. The price is not officially discussed, but there's a "Get exclusive 50% OFF by signing up now!!" message on the platform, so if you're interested in it, it's not a bad idea to try to get the 50% "off".

The Aohi Starship Pro comes with a 20,000mAh capacity cell, but mAh numbers pale in comparison to the 310W output and the 180W self-charging speeds. This means one thing and one thing only: you'll be saving quite some time.

The 310W charging power is delivered by combining up to three devices simultaneously (140W + 140W + 30W) and there's "smart power distribution" for your needs.

The high-capacity power bank can, its makers claim, charge 4.1 times the iPhone 16 and 1.4 times the iPad Pro (12.9 inches), for example.

If you have some kind of experience with power banks, you know very well that these devices can take many hours of charging, before they're topped up. The new battery by Aohi promises to fully utilize its 180W self-charging speeds. In theory, the 20,000 mAh external battery should be charged from 0 to 100% in just 60 minutes. This is amazing!

I mean, even if you get that last-minute plane ticket, you have plenty of time to charge your power bank while panicking over not having enough room in your backpack to pack all you need for a trip abroad.

The power bank also looks compact enough for what it offers – I hope the project kicks off to a mass production scale!
