Woot has brand-new Amazon Fire HD 8 units on sale at big discounts, no Prime needed
As always, Amazon's own tablets, smart speakers, digital media streamers, and so on have been the center of attention during the e-commerce giant's 48-hour Prime Day festival. But now the Prime members-exclusive deals are in the rearview mirror, which means... anyone can get a popular Fire HD 8 tablet at an incredibly low price.

It's true, the already affordable 8-incher is further discounted at Woot right now, with Amazon's daughter company charging as little as $54.99 (instead of a $79.99 list price) for a brand-new unit in a flashy Canary Yellow paint job. That's with 16 gigs of internal storage space only, while a 32GB configuration (in black) can be had for just $5 more.

Technically, this is not the latest Fire HD 8 generation, but the 2017 variant on sale here and its 2018 "upgrade" are virtually identical. That makes this Woot deal almost as compelling as the one offered directly by Amazon as part of the Prime Day frenzy, not to mention the 2018-released Fire HD 8 is currently listed as out of stock with 16GB digital hoarding room on the main e-commerce platform.

Although brand-new, unused, and undamaged, the $55 and up Fire HD 8 at Woot comes with a 90-day warranty, matching the coverage typically provided by Amazon itself with 7 and 8-inch Android-based slates. Prime members can also get free standard nationwide shipping, but otherwise, there are no restrictions imposed on today's special offer whatsoever. Even better, this isn't your typical 24-hour-only affair either, although supplies are presumably limited and they might not last the full nine days planned for this killer deal.

For the best of Amazon's Prime Day Deals, look no further than PhoneArena's specially selected deal hub. We keep track of Amazon and other retailers' top sales there!

In case you're not familiar with the key selling points of the Fire tablet lineup, they include hands-free Alexa support, long battery life, a decent amount of processing power, and as far as the Fire HD 8 is concerned, a sharp 8-inch screen with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. That's plenty of bang for your 55 bucks!
