Woot has brand-new Fire HD 8 and Fire HD 10 units on sale today at unbeatable prices
Although we're less than two weeks away from Amazon's Prime Day deal bonanza, impatient folks in the market for an absolute tablet bargain can visit Woot right now and choose between a heavily discounted Fire HD 8 and Fire HD 10.1 without fearing something better might be just around the corner.

The e-commerce giant's subsidiary is selling a 2017 variant of its Android-based 8-inch slate at $54.99 and up, as well as a 2015-released 10-incher for $79.99. Both devices on sale today (and today only) are brand-new, unused, and unopened, including a 90-day Amazon limited warranty in the case of the Fire HD 8 (2017) and full 1-year Amazon coverage as far as the Fire HD 10 (2015) is concerned.

It goes without saying that these are not the latest generations available on Amazon right now, but 2017's Fire HD 8 is actually extremely similar to the 2018 edition that typically starts at $79.99. Woot is currently offering the slightly older model at $54.99 in an eye-catching Canary Yellow paint job with 16GB internal storage space or $59.99 in a 32 gig configuration available in black, red, and yellow color options.

Meanwhile, 2017's Fire HD 10 came with a number of notable upgrades over the 2015 generation, including a much sharper 1920 x 1200 screen, but outside promotional periods, you need to pay at least 150 bucks for the newer tablet.

The $79.99 variant on sale at Woot comes in black only, with humbler 1280 x 800 display resolution, up to 8 hours of battery life, 32 gigs of local digital hoarding room, microSD support, a 5MP rear-facing camera, stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. We can probably agree that's a quality/price ratio very few slates from other brands are able to compete with nowadays.
