Amazon scares up some killer Halloween deals on its popular Fire tablets

While Amazon is still ranked among the world's top five tablet vendors, the company's big hardware launch event last month was all about Alexa-powered devices like smart speakers, smart displays, and true wireless earbuds.
Starting with the most affordable product you can pick up an at even more reasonable price than usual, you may want to remember the Fire 7 is itself only a few months old. While far from drastic, the $10 you're looking at saving right now compared to the MSRP of the entry-level 7-incher is therefore nothing to sneeze at.
You can also get the 16GB Fire HD 8 alongside a Show Mode charging dock at a decent $20 less than usual, which makes for a significantly better deal than the recently unveiled Echo Show 8 with similar functionality and a little extra versatility when you think about it.
In the interest of honesty, we'd be remiss not to point out these killer Halloween deals are actually not as great as some of Amazon's past Fire sales. But at least you don't need a Prime membership to save the big moderate bucks this time around.
The e-commerce giant did refresh one of its popular Fire models in a more discreet manner shortly after unveiling all that new Echo-branded stuff, and obviously, it's a little too early for the rehashed 10-inch slate to already go down in price. On the bright side, bargain hunters will be happy to know Amazon's slightly older 7 and 8-inchers are currently on sale at some decent discounts in both "regular" and kid-friendly variants.
The same goes for the Fire HD 8 and its new $20 markdown available in both 16 and 32GB storage configurations, although this thing is actually over a year old and not very different from its predecessor. Meanwhile, the children-oriented editions of Amazon's latest Fire 7 and Fire HD 8 are discounted by 30 bucks a pop at the time of this writing in an array of eye-catching colors with a "kid-proof" case and two-year "worry-free" guarantee included.
