Zuk Z1 Oak Edition unveiled in China
Lenovo's Zuk brand unveiled the Zuk Z1 in China during August. Last week, the company announced that the phone has launched in the Middle East, and will soon hit Europe. Today, the company introduced a special edition model with a back panel made of Oak. And this is actual, real oak that comes from the Appalachian Mountains in the U.S. To make sure that the wood has that natural look, it hasn't been treated or dyed. Outside of the wood backing, nothing has changed about the Zuk Z1 Oak Edition, which is available for now in China only.
The phone features a 5.5-inch LCD screen, with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 401ppi. Driving the handset is the Snapdragon 801 chipset, not exactly considered one of Qualcomm's most current chips (although it is found under the hood of the OnePlus X). The Z1 comes with a quad-core 2.5GHz CPU and the Adreno 330 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside, along with 64GB of non-expandable storage.
The Zuk Z1 Oak Edition is priced at the equivalent of $283 USD. That is $15 USD more than the price of the regular model. After looking at the pictures, we think that the extra cost is well worth it. What do you think?

The 13MP rear camera features OIS, and there is a front-facing 8MP snapper to shoot selfies and handle video chats. A fingerprint scanner is on board, and the lights are kept on thanks to the huge 4100mAh battery. Cyanogen 12, based on Android 5.1, is pre-installed.
