Zer01 unlimited voice and data services finally launches?
It's been a while since Zer01 has popped up in the news when it was first announced back in March. It truly stood out among the competition with unlimited voice and data services priced at under $70 per month. The short wait is over with Zer01 launching its services starting today – somewhat. The unique thing is that it uses Veritable Mobile Convergence technology which routes voice communication via VoIP using the data network. So you can call call and surf the web all you want for less than $70 per month and add international calling for an additional $10 per month. The only devices supported are Windows Mobile powered handsets with other platforms like BlackBerry and Android expected to come out later. Did we forget to mention that they don't require you to sign a lengthy contract? Perusing their web site for a chance to sign on will only lead to frustration. Zer01 has yet to land a network distributor for their service, so buying a handset or signing up for service is out of the question. So can we say it's safe to assume that this is some kind of pre-launch?
