ZUK Z1, with 4000+mAh battery, to be unveiled on August 8th
Last month, we told you that Lenovo subsidiary ZUK would soon be unveiling the Z1. Earlier today, ZUK took to its Weibo page to announce that it will be holding a press conference on August 8th to unveil the device. This will be one of the first smartphones to employ the USB Type-C 3.0 port which speeds up data transfers and battery charging. Speaking about batteries, the ZUK Z1 will be equipped with a 4000+mAh cell which means wall hugging won't be required. A 13MP camera graces the back of the phone, which will support 4G LTE connectivity. And the U-Touch fingerprint scanner is embedded in the home button for quick unlocking of the screen using a simple swipe.
The rest of the specs have been the subject of speculation and are rumored to include a 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 resolution screen, a Snapdragon 810 SoC, 3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage.
While pricing has yet to be announced, there is talk that the phone will be priced at the equivalent of $300 USD. So far, it appears that the ZUK Z1 might be listed on the site of Chinese e-commerce company JD.com. The latter has shaken hands with ZUK on a partnership, although that doesn't necessarily mean that the listing will be an exclusive.
Thanks for the tip!
