YouTube app for PlayStation 3 lets you watch videos on the console, controlled by your Android phone
So you're a slacker and you spend most of the day playing video games in the makeshift room you have in your parent's basement. That doesn't mean you can't take some time to watch some YouTube videos. To make things easier, Google has released a special YouTube app for PS3 that allows you to pair your Android phone with the game console. This will allow you to use your handset as a remote control. Find a YouTube video on your phone that you want to view on the PlayStation 3's larger display? Click the video on your smartphone and it will start playing on your PS3.
PlayStation 3 owners can find the new YouTube app in the PlayStation Store under My Channels. And no, they don't have to use their Android phone to view the videos, but the combination of the UI on the game console added to the less than intuitive game controller will probably have you reaching for your Android smartphone whenever you take that break from your gaming to watch videos.
