You can now pre-order the unlocked Essential Phone at Best Buy

As expected, the unlocked version of the Essential Phone recently went on pre-order at Best Buy. In addition, Essential's website is now taking pre-orders for the smartphone as well.

Sprint is the only carrier in the United States that offers the Essential Phone, but the unlocked model can be had via Amazon, Best Buy, and Essential's online store.

As far as pricing goes, you won't get the unlocked model cheaper than the Sprint-branded variant. But the good news is you won't have to pay more, as Best Buy is selling the Essential Phone for the same $699 outright.

However, customers who want to pick up the 360-degree camera along with the Essential Phone will have to pay an extra $50. The price is available for a limited time, but the camera is likely to be available later than the phone.

Moreover, you can add an extended care for $99, which will get you 2 years of coverage for breakdowns and accidental damage. Unfortunately, you can only buy the black color version of the Essential Phone at Best Buy or on the company's website.
