This week, the food finding app Yelp has been included in the Android Market. Using GPS or triangulation, the service spots your location and serves up recommendations of restaurants or other places where you can get the specific type of food you are having hunger pangs for. You will see ratings, reviews and photos and there is a link to press that will call the restaurant in case you want to make a reservation. Another button allows you to map the location on a movable Google map, or you can get directions from your current location to show up on your browser. Unlike the iPhone model, you cannot add your own review and pictures with the Android Market version. So next time your stomach gives you the signal that you are hungry, if your phone uses the Google open source OS, instead of following an iPhone user to a restaurant and hoping that the person likes the same food you do, take matters into your own hand and Yelp!
